Magna Carta/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Cliché Storm (Tears Of Blood. Magna Carta 2 starts off like this, though manages to subvert many of the cliches over the story, though not enough to take it away from this territory entirely. Of course, as always, Your Mileage May Vary.)
  • Game Breaker (the DLC weapons in 2 are the strongest weapons in the game, and can be used almost immediately. The party member's ultimate skills are also absurdly powerful, but sometimes necessary on bosses.)
  • Just Here for Godzilla (most people who are interested in the series only care about the art)
  • Scrappy Mechanic (Tears of Blood uses a variation of the Judgment Ring found in Shadow Hearts, only it's much stricter timing and if you miss even one input, the entire attack is canceled.)
  • Surprisingly Improved Sequel (Magna Carta 2 on the 360)
  • Viewer Gender Confusion (Calintz. Straight up.)
  • What an Idiot! / Too Dumb to Live ( Melissa joining the Northern Forces, and subsequently believing anything they had to say. Worst is when finding out they really are a bunch of monsters, she threatens to walk out to Claire, who promptly warns her that bad things will happen if she does, all the while suffering sudden chest pains. Claire even asks her why she suddenly appeared good as new after nearly being killed by Second Elgar. So naturally, Melissa walks out, joins your party for about 10 minutes, then is promptly turned into a Sentinel and forced to be put down.)
