  • In modern day, what could Shaorin conceivably protect her master against? If someone wished to kill her master, they would use a gun, which is a lot faster than the rate at which she can summon her lesser spirits. So anyone wishing to be rid of Tasuke could shoot him and Shaorin too. (Although it is unknown if bullets would kill her or not)
    • Tasuke raises that exact question upon first meeting Shao. The ultimate answer is that she's there to "protect him" from being lonely. Corny yes, but still...
