Marvel Ultimate Alliance/Headscratchers

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • In the second game, when you enter the Negative Zone, you can call Nick Fury out on being old. His rebuttal is that he's been kicking butt since you were in diapers. For most characters, yeah, okay, sure. But not when your party consists of: Captain America, who worked WITH him during said buttkicking, Wolverine, who ALSO worked with him during said buttkicking and in fact is even older than he is, being born in the late 1800s, and Thor, who is a Nordic god and therefore has Fury beat by 700 years at least.
    • It helps if you don't use those characters.
      • It helps more that logically plot-wise, there is no way for Cap to have that conversation with Fury, because at that point in the story, he's too busy beating the snot out of Iron Man.
  • Considering that they made a reference to Secret Invasion... am I the only one who thinks that the Spider Woman that's been around since the first and second game is actually Veranke (the 'Skrull Empress' that was saved in MUA 1 from Galactus turns out not to be Veranke)? If Secret Invasion becomes a plot in MUA 3, that is...
    • Well, maybe or maybe not. Considering that the in-game universe is divergent to that of Earth-616 (the mainstream Marvel Universe), it's possible that that's really Jessica Drew in the game, and the Skrull invasion is made in a different way (they had done the same thing to the Fantastic Four in their first comics appearance, AFAIR).
  • In the first game, there is not a single team bonus that includes both Daredevil and Electra. Not a single one.
    • There's no Double Date bonus because, as Elektra explains in the game, she and Daredevil hadn't dated in a long time. He had been with Black Widow more recently than Elektra.
  • The DLC Character Pack for MUA 2 is actually still up on the PSN for purchase. I thought they were taking it down in 2010. What gives?
