Elluka: AH~!! THAT'S ENOUGH!! WHY ARE EVERYONE OF YOU IDIOTS??!! YOU, RILLIANNE, THE KING OF MARLON, ALLEN, AND LEONHART ARE ALL THE SAME!! EVERYONE ARE SUPER ULTRA IDIOTS!!!

Rin: There is no need for words anymore/I knew it this is happiness/ You told me that you love me

  • Crowning Music of Awesome: Pretty much all of the songs, really.
  • Ear Worm: SO MANY. The "Lu, Li, La" part of the Clockwork Lullaby series is pretty much guaranteed to get stuck in your head.
  • Evil Is Cool / True Art Is Angsty: Mothy has written some songs that are actually pretty adorable (Ten-Minute Love, To The Reticent You, South North Story and TwiRight Prank) but he's most well known for writing tragic, mind screwy and Nightmare Fuel filled stuff about horrible people, people dying, or horrible people dying.
  • Fan Disservice / Fetish Retardant: Madame Merry Go-Round; Miku in Elegant Gothic Lolita, chaining herself up and claiming that she'll be your slave for a day should be hot, right? Well, let's just say things get much freakier from there...
    • In Flower of the Plateau, we get a completely nude image of Mikulia. Pretty hot, huh? Nope. Not only is her lower half seemingly mutated graphically to look like a flower, but one of her breasts has a massive slug crawling on it. Ewwwww.
  • Fridge Brilliance: A lot of it.
    • The objects representing the sins are a sword for Lust (a sword being a symbol of virility in some circles as well as the obvious...), a drinking glass for Gluttony (drinking glasses often being used at fancy dinner parties), four mirrors for Pride (obviously), a clockwork doll for Sloth (a clockwork doll cannot move or do anything on it's own), a set of sewing scissors for Envy (well, okay this was in the song), a silver spoon for Greed (as in "born with a sliver spoon in your mouth"), and an as of late unknown item for Wrath.
    • Speaking of the Seven Deadly Sins, why did Eve's death release them? Because she had all seven within her; she felt despair at the loss of her children (Sloth), which then turned into hatred of others for having children of their own (Envy), a desire to take children of her own (Lust and Gluttony), stole from someone to do it (Greed), felt she deserved it more than someone else (Pride) and killed her to gain it (Wrath).
    • The chronicles (or at least part of them) seem to be based on an early XVI century painting called "The Seven Deadly Sins and the Four Last Things" (The four last things are: Death (Graveyard), Judgement (Court), Hell (Hellish Yard) and Glory (Heavenly Yard)), considering the Masters' songs is a series called "The Final Four"...
  • Fridge Horror: Plenty of it.
    • Judgement of Corruption: Some lines imply that Gallerian Marlon doesn't only proclaim criminals innocent if they pay him, but that he also is willing to condemn wrongly accused people who don't pay him. The song takes place in a country where the death penalty is still in use. How many innocent people has he sentenced to death already?
    • The Madness of Duke Venomania: It's known that Lukana became pregnant, but that makes it likely that Venomania never used any sort of contraceptive. This went on for a year with a few dozen victims -- how many other women became pregnant? What about Rindo, who is heavily implied to be a young teenager?
      • It gets worse; it's implied in Flower of the Plateau that Venomania not only got Mikulia pregnant as well, but she was already impure to begin with. When she met her son years after abandoning him after his birth, she kills him to make sure that no-one finds out that she's been with so many men. And didn't Elluka possess Lukana during/after the incident? Was it Elluka who got pregnant?
    • The boy in Pierrot the 5th is also the boy who was kidnapped in Moonlit Bear. Both Santa and his real mother are played by Meiko.
    • Story of Evil: At one point in the novels, Keel Freesis offers the Venom Sword to Kyle Marlon. Although he refuses, he still is severely affected by the demon of Lust just from looking at the sword. What would have happened if he had actually taken it?
  • Freud Was Right: The Sin Vessel of Lust is a sword.
  • Hell Is That Noise: The guillotine sound in Daughter of Evil and Servant of Evil, except in certain versions where it just sounds like a rope being cut.
  • Les Yay: After some years, fan speculation over whom Michaela truly loved - ranging from her having a true relationship with Kyle, as is implied by quite a bit of fanart, or actually being in love with Allen the whole time, which was input into its fanmade song - eventually ended up moot because regardless of whatever she felt towards Kyle, her true love was towards Clarise.
  • Lyrical Dissonance: Mothy REALLY loves this trope, to the point that when he makes a "cute" song fans can't believe it, to the point that some even pick the lyrics apart, piece by piece to find some sign of a tragedy in the song.
  • Magnificent Bastard: Gallerian Marlon.
    • Also, Prim Marlon. Maybe it's a family trait?
  • Magnum Opus: Story of Evil. Servant of Evil in particular. It's the song that gained mothy his producer name in the Vocaloid fanbase, after all.
  • Memetic Mutation: After Story of Evil's supplementary material was released, fans are prone to making comments that go "CURSE YOU PRIM MARLON!"
  • Misaimed Fandom: The Duke from The Madness of Duke Venomania seems to have quite a large fanbase, if the YouTube comments for the song are anything to go by.
    • Allen in Story of Evil and Kayo in Tailor Shop on Enbizaka get a bit of this too.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Every Deadly Sin character crosses this:
  • Nausea Fuel: Evil Food Eater Conchita.
    • Certain parts of Madness of Duke Venomania might initiate this instead of Fetish Fuel.
    • One of the images in the PV for Flower of the Plateau can qualify as well. See Fan Disservice above.
  • Squick: The Madness of Duke Venomania has several scenes that are likely to provoke such a reaction.
  • Tastes Like Diabetes: It's rare, but when Mothy decides to write cute songs, they are really, really cute!
  • Tear Jerker: Many, but special mention goes to Servant of Evil, Regret Message, Daughter of White, Girl of a Miniature Garden, Flames of Yellow Phosphorous, The Last Revolver,Maiden of Wood 1000-Year Wiegenlied and Kept Waiting for a Response.
  • The Woobie: Many, but Allen, Micheala and Clarise in Story of Evil and Gumi's character in The Last Revolver stand out.
    • And Elluka if Chrono Story and Re-collective Musicbox are to be believed.
    • The unfortunate man Kayo Sudou was in love with in Tailor Shop on Enbizaka. The poor guy's entire family was murdered and he had no idea what was causing it until it was too late.
    • The Clockwork Doll. The lyrics of Master of the Court make her something of a Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds too.

Doll: How can the lifeless me understand? How can the heartless me understand?

    • Jerkass Woobie: Rillianne.
      • And Venomania.
    • Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: Margarita from Gift From Princess Sleep-Bringer. She was basically broken from the start, made into a Stepford Smiler who felt like everyone would be better off dead since they were all so unhappy in her eyes. Rin of Flames of Yellow Phosphorus also counts, as she committed that crime because she had been denied food and shelter by her father.
    • World of Woobie
