Mr. Robot was a drama-psychological thriller series on USA Network created by Sam Esmail, starring Rami Malek and Christian Slater. Premiering on June 24, 2015, it ran for four seasons and concluded with a two-hour finale on December 22, 2019.

The series follows Elliot Alderson, a cybersecurity engineer who leads a double life as a vigilante hacker taking down criminals and abusers. One day, he gets recruited by a mysterious man named Mr. Robot to join his group called "fsociety" and finds himself in the middle of an online war against E Corp, the company with whom Elliot has a personal vendetta against for his father's death. He soon learns that nothing as it seems to be around him and there is more than meets the eye.

Tropes used in Mr. Robot (TV Series) include:
  • Abhorrent Admirer: Both Tyrell and Vera serve as one for Elliot.
  • Abusive Parents: Elliot and Darlene did not have a good life with their parents. Their mother had beaten them and verbally abused them, but Elliot got the worst of it when it was revealed that his father had sexually abused him as a kid.
  • Action Survivor: Elliot has survived multiple near-death experiences throughout the series such as being kidnapped, beaten up, shot, overdosed on heroin and being trapped in a nuclear meltdown.
  • So Beautiful It's a Curse: Elliot is beautiful in both his looks and "power", which unfortunately causes him to attract most male villains to him, namely Tyrell and Vera.
