  • Amazon Admirer: Kermit may claim that he doesn't have time for a serious relationship with Miss Piggy, but he can be entranced when she shows off her martial arts... provided he is not the target. Gonzo has also shown interest in Miss Piggy being tough as nails, but then this is Gonzo.
  • Chosen Family: The franchise is all about this:
    • The Muppet Movie is about Kermit setting off to Hollywood to become rich and famous. Along the way he acquires friends in Fozzie, Gonzo, Miss Piggy, and all the main Muppet cast. As he tells Doc Hopper, he found a family because they share the same dream.
    • Muppet Treasure Island has Gonzo and Rizzo tell Jim that they are his family. Even if they don't look like each other and are different species, they are brothers.
  1. ↑ Legally speaking, "The Muppets" now only refers to The Muppet Show characters owned by Disney, although Sesame Workshop has permission to use the term to refer to Sesame Street characters. The Fraggle Rock characters (still owned by the Henson company) were Muppets to start with, but are no longer referred to as such.
  2. ↑ (This brief-lived HBO series holds the distinction of being one where the main characters were built by the Creature Workshop instead of the Muppet Workshop, giving them a look rather shockingly different from the paradigm seen on most other Muppet productions.)
