New Characters

== This entire theory [dead link] is true == For those of you who don't read it,It basically says:

  • Tirek's spiritual force is the thing that created Nightmare moon, And Discord, by body surfing his way to power.
  • He also convinced Queen Chrysalis to attack Canterlot
  • The G1 world is the early G4 world.
    • Also, G3 was Pinkiepie's lucid dream
  • They will all come back for season 3, Tirek possesing Celestia, and the group of them performing a massive attack on Equestria
    • And this person is writing a fanfiction on this subject.

A Changeling Mook.

Will be reformed, but the cast will be suspicious. Will appear for one episode. Part of his character will be figuring out how to feed without hurting anyone to be a Friendly Neighborhood Changeling. Apple Jack will not like him/her at first.

If Humans are introduced, they'll be villains

  • They'd be Abusive Precursors who seek to reclaim their lost planet from the Equestrains and all other quadrupeds.
    • Alternatively, centaurs show up in place of humans.
    • Humanity will turn out to be Expies of the Time Lords.

Human: And on that day, the Humans decided to return. For Humanity! For the destruction of Equestria itself!

    • Or, we get two factions of humans, one serving as the villains, and the other allying with the Equestrians against the villainous faction.

The villains will be the same as the mane six, but without the Elements of Harmony.

  • Twilight Sparkle: Her Counterpart will remain friendless, caught up in his or her studies. (Friendship)
    • Possible candidate: Trixie.
    • Another possible candidate: A Katrina (G1 Villain) expy with her henchman lizard creature as a Spike expy, who is abusive towards him and represents making friends through fear and power, like Azula.
  • Applejack: Magnificent Bastard who rips off customers daily. (Honesty)
    • Possible candidates, the Flim-Flam brothers.
  • Fluttershy: Some sort of ruthless animal trainer that treats her pets like garbage, but still withdrawn from society. (Kindness)
    • Possible candidate: Iron Will
    • No, even though Iron Will was portayed as the antagonist, he is far from being a villain, was never seen treating anyone badly(sure, he uses his goats as mean of transportation, but they never seemed to suffer from it, plus, he takes their opnions in consideration, as shown in the quick reunion he had with then after Fluttershy refused to pay), and politelly left after a reason for not paying was given.
    • As the guy who nominated Iron Will, that maybe true but he could be under the Mind Rape like Fluttershy did.
  • Rainbow Dash: A talented flier with an extreme case of Chronic Backstabbing Disorder, to the point where no one wants him/her around. (Loyalty)
    • Possible candidate: Gilda.
  • Rarity: An extremely greedy hoarder who keeps everything to herself.(Generosity)
    • Possible candidate: Female Diamond Dog (extra points for the Stealth Pun).
    • Second Possible Candidate: Blueblood
  • Pinkie Pie: Child Pinkie Pie turned Up to Eleven, may be a Nietzsche Wannabe. (Laughter)
    • You wanna know how I got my cutie mark?
      • Hilarious in Hindsight now that the first episode of season two is out. what with the villain making the Mane Cast the opposite of their true nature, sans Twilight Sparkle.
      • If Cranky Doodle Donkey is a Grumpy Bear Jerkass and still is in the end of the episode, he is a possible candidate.
      • As the guy who posted Cranky as a possible Candidate, he could be possibly possessed on his own will.

Sea Ponies will eventually be introduced.

  • Shoo-bee-doo-shoop-shoop-bee-doo.
  • And they'll be based off hippocampus rather than seahorses. Because then they can actually, y'know, do stuff.
  • Perhaps an episode where the mane cast befriend a hippocampus, but find it hard to do anything with her because hippocampii can't leave the water.
    • Fans have drawn cart designs so the hippocampii can wheel themselves around on land.
    • OR, these versions of sea ponies will be evil. They'll be like sirens and lure sailor ponies to their doom (or just kidnapping them, whatever makes it more kid friendly) with their haunting song (*snort*), and the mane six have to investigate why all these sailors have been disappeaping.

We are going to see glow-in-the-dark ponies soon.

The reason Princess Luna flipped out and became Nightmare Moon was due to loneliness and jealousy (no ponies were staying up to enjoy and admire her work, like they were for her sister). The problem is that although she became Princess Luna again, there still aren't any ponies who are usually up all night.

There will be a Witch-King of Angmar Expy.

Another ancient villain will return; one whom, according to Predictions and Prophecies, "nopony can defeat". Oh, the mane cast will try, with the Elements of Harmony, but it simply won't work. As the villain's gloating, however, cue Big Damn Spike. This could possibly come as part of an episode of arc where Spike grows up into something more resembling an adult dragon; while he and probably everyone else are iffy at first with his new form, they'll all learn to accept it after he saves them all. Twilight would probably have been accepting the whole time... and maybe Rarity finds the new form handsome.

  • There are like fifty creatures that fulfill that requirement aside from Spike: the farm hands on Applejack's farm, the Diamond Dogs, the two dragons, Gilda, Zecora, Discord... more if we count animal-level intelligence creatures, like Opalescence, Winona, Owlicious?, the Hydra...

Season 3 will "reintroduce" a team of villains/rivals.

Sure, Nightmare Moon escaped from her imprisonment, but who helped her? Those four stars that we saw always within proximity of the moon. If Lauren Faust is allowed to start putting "magical girl" themes back into the show, this troper could totally imagine the four stars appearing as a team of four villainous ponies who want Luna to "regain her powers" as Nightmare Moon and once again shroud Equestria in eternal darkness, so that the stars can always be seen in the sky.

To go deeper, perhaps at the start of the season we'll see Luna failing to make friends, and become envious of Twilight when seeing her surrounded by the other ponies. In come the "star ponies", who offer her unconditional friendship with a false smile, and she desperately accepts. Thus, the kiddies get to learn about the various ways that "friends" can take advantage of you and play you for a foal. These events would also provide a wealth of plot potential for the creators to work with, both as individual episodes, and as an overarching, season-long storyline that Lauren Faust (and many fans) seem to desire more.

  • Plus, now that Queen Chrysalis had joined the party, the possibilities just keep stacking up.

Similarly, season three will introduce evil counterparts to the Elements of Harmony.

For example: The Elements of Chaos or Discord.

  • With Trixie being the leader and evil counter part of Twilight.
    • Possible names for the elements, and their Good Counterparts:
      • Brutality/Magic (Magic needs finesse and training, brutality does not)
      • Distrust/Loyalty (Wielder is in constant fear of being backstabbed, rather than being loyal or trusting.)
      • Greed/Generosity (Self-explanatory.)
      • Insanity/Laughter (Laughter spreads joy, insanity spreads sadness.)
      • Deceit/Honesty (Wielder is always double-dealing, rather than being straight with others.)
      • Cruelty/Kindness (Self-explanatory.)

Fluttershy will get her own radio station.

Well, she'll accidentally fall into poison oak, getting her Flutterguy voice back. Other ponies will accidentally hear her voice and mention something about how pleasant it sounds. Meanwhile, Fluttershy will have financial troubles, forcing her to secretly take an announcing job at a radio station. This will culminate in her estranging her friends as she tries to hide her new career, and she will be found out, nearly ruining her reputation. A lesson will be learned about being somepony that you're not.

"Weird Al" Yankovic will appear as a pony in a future episode.

  • He has already been asked by Jayson Thiessen. Maybe he'll appear as Pinkie Pie's uncle. He's got the frizzy hair, wacky sensibility, and love for accordions that Pinkie does, so why not?
    • And his name will be Allegro, or something similar.
      • I'd love to see Weird Al in a cartoon. But will his cutie mark be a bologna (unlikely)? Or something to do with polka?
        • Perhaps a musical episode, as suggested elsewhere? Since it's Weird Al, the "soundtrack" would have parodies of popular songs (I'd love to see a ponified "Moves Like Jagger"!)
        • Hooves Like Jagger!

Whatever character "Weird Al" Yankovic is asked to play will have some relationship to Pinkie Pie.

Recently, in a Twitter feed, Wierd Al was asked to Voice Act for the show. He hasn't replied, but if and when he does, the character he plays will have some relationship with Pinkie Pie. Because, let's be honest, its too good of a chance for anyone to miss.

Rhinos will appear on the show.

And they will be a Take That against Rated "M" for Manly.

Rarity will gain a new Lust Object in Season 3.

After having her dreams of marrying a prince dashed at the Grand Galloping Gala, Rarity will move on to another eligable bachlor pony. This might also end in failure when she finds what is wrong with this one. The cycle will continue in later seasons.

  • Alternatively, Rarity finds herself in an actually decent relationship with an actually decent stallion, prompting the rest of the mane cast to deal with feeling neglected when Rarity spends so much time with him instead of them. Dealing with jealousy of attention when one's friends start dating is a real concern for teenagers, after all. To preserve status quo, her love interest might live in Canterlot and thus not be able to show up very often.

Updated villains from previous MLP generations will appear.

Hell, Tirek's appearance alone make for an awesome bunch of episodes

Luna disguises herself as "Moon Dancer" and tries to live life as a normal earth pony for an episode or two.

  • Of course, Pinkie Pie can see right through her disguise and nearly blows her cover on several occasions.

We meet the parents of the Mane cast.

  • It turns out Pinkie Pie's parents are as humorless as she's mentioned, But her sisters are a different case. One is a bit of a klepto and the other one appears to suffer from OCD.
  • Twilight's parents are extremely proud of their daughter, Her mother is a Teacher for young Unicorns and her father is an astronomer. They are also terrified of turning into plants again.
  • Fluttershy comes from an extremely wealthy family, With both of her parents being bombastic and loud, scaring the poor filly to shyness.
  • Rainbow Dash doesn't have a mom or a dad, but was raised by four of her uncles. She doesn't seem to question why her birth parents were never around, but she likes to brag that she has "twice as many parents as you have".
  • Rarity's parents are both artists, though terrible with money. Rarity remembers a rather spartan childhood, half of the money she makes at her shop goes to care for her parents.
    • We've now met Rarity and Sweetie Belle's parents. They seem tacky/embarrassing if anything…
  • However we will only meed one of Spike's parents who will explain why the gave him up for "adoption" and just why some dragons do this (Perhaps his mother died and male dragons are ill-equipped to raise young.).

A member of the Apple family gets married.

Not any direct relation to Applejack, but a distant cousin or something. The gang prepares for the wedding, and the CMCs want to help out. On the day of the wedding, Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom arrive on time, but Scootaloo oversleeps. This is especially bad, since she was supposed to pick up the wedding bands (bracelets because ponies don't have fingers) and she has not done that yet. In her mad dash to get to the wedding on time, she accidentally crashes into the wedding arch, sending it crashing down. Sweetie Belle manages to distract all the guests by performing for them and Apple Bloom repairs everything. everything works out, and by the end of the episode, Twilight tells the CMCs to take a look at their flanks…

Season(s) 2 and/or 3 will feature a real Shout-Out to Bronies…

They'll be portrayed as Oni (Ogre-like creatures from Japanese mythology). The Bro-Oni are either going to be brutish but ultimately friendly creatures who befriend the ponies or villainous and are minions to a Big Bad.

At some point the Mane cast will encounter a gigantic subterranean monster.

It'll cause earthquakes just by moving and will be so massive all they can see is its eye. After 20 minutes of trying to communicate with it or fight it Celestia will show up and say "sorry we woke you up mom, me and Luna will try to play more quietly now."

  • If we're going that route, this is my idea: There will be a crisis not even Princess Celestia or the six Elements of Harmony can resolve. Maybe a giant meteor on a crash-course with Equestria or something. Anyway, a truly gigantic alicorn (bigger than even the Ursa Major here) who looks like he's made of dark matter, and possibly has stars for eyes will save Equestria. After some awkwardness, Celestia and Luna will introduce their father, Ouranos, Lord of the Cosmos.

There will be a future villain named: Krastos the Glue Maker.

However, nopony will understand why he chose that title since the glue that exists in Equestria isn't animal based and never has been.

  • His own glue might not even be made from (or be explicitly said to be made from) horses. He'll be a different sort of villain, perhaps a high-class thief or a send-up of ruthless businesses.
  • Or perhaps he'll simply be a generic bad guy who can't figure out why everypony keeps mispronouncing "Gloom Maker".

The evil force that took over Princess Luna (and helped free Discord) will return and take over Princess Celestia.

Her evil persona will be something along the lines of "Hellfire Sun". Princess Luna and the mane cast will join together and find a way to purge the evil from her as they did with Luna.

  • Probably not. After all, kid's show.
    • There are plenty of other names that could be used; "Solar Flare" is a popular one. As for how it would happen, the evil force probably wouldn't try and take over Celestia directly at first, as she's too powerful. Instead, it would erode Celestia over time by preying on her greatest weakness: Her fear of being unable to protect those that she loves, which had been previously realized on several occasions (Having to seal Luna away, being powerless against Discord during his return, and straight-up losing to Queen Chrysalis during the invasion). The evil force would bring this to a head by breaking open Tatarus and setting all its prisoners loose across Equestria, throwing the land into chaos. With Celestia in an emotionally weakened state, the force would then influence her into thinking that the Godzilla Threshold had been crossed, and that the only way to "save" Equestria at that point would be to burn everything in it to a crisp with eternal day.

"I am Solar Flare! All will be purified by the cleansing fires of my sun!"

Advancing from the above, the evil force that took over Luna will function as a (rather light, though) Knight of Cerebus.

Season 3 will have an episode with the original FiM prototype characters appearing

Posey, Surprise, Firefly, Sparkler. Twilight's moms old friends come back, and the gang notices the Generation Xerox going on. Thumbs up if one of the old gang is related to one of the mane cast (besides Twilight and Twilight).

  • For this to happen, Hasbro would have to somehow regain the copyrights to those characters. If they did that, it would actually be kinda awesome.
    • Considering how popular the series is, I wouldn't doubt it. Plus Twilight appeared as Twilight's mom, though she didn't speak and wasn't referred to by name; it's undeniably Twilight, and Word of God has confirmed it. They could just as easily make the others appear, though their fur tones would probably changed similar to how Twilight's mom went from pink to white.
      • Firefly and Medley appeared in the musical number in Winter Wrap-Up Thus spake the Friendship Is Magic wiki's list of ponies. Medley also cameos in The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000, flying above the crowd with Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Derpy Hooves, and Cloud Kicker at one point in the musical number.

G1 Ponies will reappear.

Twilight's mom is more-or-less Twilight from G1 (I believe its Word of God too), and Moondancer was mentioned in the pilot. Aside from Sea-Ponies, I expect some more G1 Ponies.

One of the Mane cast will get romantically involved with somepony, causing tension with the others.

For example, Fluttershy and Big Macintosh start working together on something, then they start spending all their time together, then both Applejack and Angel get jealous and come up with a series of antics to break them up. And in the end Big Mac and Fluttershy assure them that they're Just Friends (for now).

List of G1 character that would appear in Season 3.

  • Tirek
    • The most likely candidate for Big Bad of Season 3, if not Bigger Bad. Would be a level of villainy similar to the Lich from Adventure Time.
      • --> Princess Celestia: "If you fail, he'll kill everypony...."
  • The Crabnasties
    • A single one would be introduced to the show as a grumpy civil servant who's main job is to exterminate the seemingly harmless and innocent posies. Fluttershy would feel sorry for one of them and took one home.....only for it to cause all kinds of trouble, accumulating to the posy growing to kaiju sized and devouring all of Ponyvile. The Crabnasty will then come to the rescue and kill off the posy with ease. Celestia might enter and explain the crabnasty's job and the lesson that seemingly disgusting and cruel jobs are sometimes necessary, and the lesson of judging a book by its cover is reinforced.
  • The Grundles
    • Race of goblin like creatures who have a separate society outside of Equestria in the middle of the desert far beyond Appleloosa. It would be parallel to pony society, with the ponies living in a land where its a peaceful society consisting of herbivores in a bright, colorful location where nature is practically micromanaged while the grundles themselves are more carnivorous, live underground to protect themselves from the harsh desert sun, have deep warrior traditions, and surrounded by various shades of brown and grey as nature runs its course without any outside interference. Episodes here could teach lessons about adapting to and respecting other cultures and knowing that different societies have different viewpoints on life.
  • Sea Ponies
  • Katrina

List of Original Characters that would appear in Season 3.

  • Harry the Bear
    • Would initially shock Rainbow Dash, considering she thought she made him up. Though tends to get grumpy at times, he may ultimately have a soft spot for ponies and may be good friends with Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy down the line.
      • And he will enjoy both playing seashells and collecting volleyballs.
  • Krastos the Glue Maker
    • A giant, powerful, and bloodthirsty warrior who targets ponies to make glue out of them. More detailed bio would either be: A) a Villain of the Week who becomes recurring as the season continues along, and either the hired help of the Big Bad and/or the leader of a group of thugs; B) an ancient evil that was initially defeated by Celestia and Luna eons ago and no has recently escaped the prison he was trapped in and had been merely a scary story until then; or C) one of Tirek's many monikers.

A pony will forcibly become the next Nightmare Moon.

Using the issues they have with subtle manipulation of their memories, how they hear things, or thoughts, as well as promises for power.

Ponies that may become the second Nightmare Moon:

  • Twilight Sparkle
    • Her Mother
  • Pinkie Pie
  • The Great and Powerful Trixie
  • Princess Celestia
  • Cadance
  • Luna
  • Shining Armor
  • Discord

The Cutie Mark Crusaders will gain another member.

Who it might be:

  • Dinky Hooves.
    • Already saw her a couple times with a cutie mark, even though they aren't consistent.
  • Somepony we haven't met yet.
  • A pony who thinks they "got the wrong cutie mark" (this member only sticks around for one episode).
  • Someone who's not a pony at all, but thinks the can still earn a cutie mark (A griffon, or perhaps another baby dragon. Maybe Little Strongheart will come back).
  • An adult pony who after all these years still hasn't acquired a cutie mark.
    • Bonus points if the adult pony is a stallion and the Professor Utonium to the trio's Powerpuff Girls.
  • Shining Armor and Cadance's future child
  • A baby Changeling. He pulled a Heel Face Turn and ran away from Chrysalis after her defeat at the wedding. He joins the CMCs because Being Evil Sucks and he wants to find another use for his powers.

The mane cast will meet a Spear Counterpart.

They'll show up out of the blue with their own elements and help the girls out with the problem of the day.

We will get a Villain Episode.

Where the focus is on Trixie, Gilda, and the other Evil Counterparts on the group. The episode might end with them either hating each other's guts or moving on with their own lives.

The Mane Six will meet an old creature in the Everfree Forest with separation anxiety issues.

They'll befriend it, have fun with it for a bit, and then go back to Ponyville. Unfortunately, the creature will panic and imprison the ponies, so that they'll stay with it forever and ever. It will be strongly hinted that the last friends the creature made died of natural causes long ago. It'll be like that one episode of Chowder, only less Played for Laughs and more Played for Drama. Bleak, harrowing drama.

  • Will Zecora have any involvement?
  • something like iPsycho?

Season 3's main villain will be Affably Evil like Discord and most of the time the actual conflict between them and the Mane 6 will be Go-Karting with Bowser.

Until the Season Finale where the villain will Take a Level In Badass and suddenly become the Knight of Cerebus...

  • That would be an interesting angle; a villain who's genuinely likable would be a nice addition to the show.

The girls will meet a possibly Evil Counterpart Race for each of the pony species

They will be descendants of the followers of Princess Luna/Nightmare Moon pre-banishment. After her exile they went into hiding, or fled to another land/world. If they are really an Evil Counterpart Race , they might attempt to somehow re-transform Luna into NMM, or work for the new villains. But if they are just more oriented to the moon and darkness, not necessarily evil, they may assist the mane cast, maybe even with a new member joining the cast's rank, functioning as a G-rated Anti-Hero, who could function as a Shadow Archetype to one of the cast.

  • Or maybe followers of Discord? Maybe not everypony's been brainwashed by him. For all we know, some probably followed him out of their own will.

More G3 ponies will appear with re-imagined personalities.

Most of the main characters are G3 ponies with new personalities or Expies of G1 ponies, so it makes sense they might bring back more G3 ponies with new personalities.

  • Minty will be introduced as an "old friend" of Pinkie Pie's (surely Pinkie is aware of the best friends her previous incarnation had). She may or may not be related to Twist, and she'll be totally cool.
    • And obsessed with socks—can't forget that.

The toyline pony 'Lily Blossom' will appear in season three.

She's one of only 4 toyline ponies with their own boxart, and is the only one of them that isn't a region exclusive bonus pony.

Spike will meet and befriend some other young dragons.

  • He will do the things dragons like to do with them. Initially Twilight is happy for him, but these dragons try to make Spike spend less time with his pony friends, believing that dragons are superior. They also pressure him into doing things he doesn't want to do. At some point they try to forcibly keep them away from him, but Twilight and the rest of the mane cast tell the dragon's mothers on them. The mothers make them apologize for behavingly so terribly and Spike goes back to hanging out with his pony friends. The lesson will be that true friends aren't always the ones who look and act the most like you, but rather the ones who treat you right.
    • Seeing what being a 'real' dragon is like, Spike will be put off by it and prefer his pony friends/family, but will learn something about being a dragon that comes in handy (maybe he'll want to start hoarding stuff, good for Rarity...not so much for Twlight's house!), so he won't ignore it entirely. And Celestia won't spam him with letters ever again! (necessary, I know, but the poor thing...)
    • He kind of already did that in "Owls well that Ends Well". My guess would be that there will be an episode where some of his dragonish instincts kick and and he begins hoarding gems (and other forms of treasure) rather than eating them all right away. The conflict will come when Rarity's collection is wiped out and Spike must choose between helping her and keeping his collection (naturally he'll go with the former). The end of the episode will reveal that the rest of the ponies all chipped in and helped start a new collection for him and Twilight setting aside the basement of the library as his "Dragon's Cave"

Spike will meet a young female dragon based on Whimsey from G3.5

The two will develop a mutual crush on each other. She is, like him, an assistant to some other pony who visits Ponyville for the episode but at the end she must leave with the two of them starting a correspondence.

  • Then the pony who Whimsey is the assistant to will get a crush on Twilight.

Toola Roola and/or Star Song will make an appearance, and maybe get their own toys.

They're the only two ponies of the G3 Core Seven who haven't yet appeared in Friendship is Magic.

The Mane Cast's Psycho Rangers/Evil Counterparts will represent the Seven Deadly Sins.

  • Spike's counterpart is Lust like he had over Rarity.
  • Pinkie Pie's counterpart is Gluttony on account she ate all those sweets.
  • Rarity's counterpart is Greed for her love of gems.
  • Applejack's counterpart is Envy for her jealously to anyone who's better than her.
  • Rainbow Dash's counterpart is Sloth of her slacking off.
  • Fluttershy's counterpart is Wrath of her snapping.
  • Twilight Sparkle's counterpart is Pride over her being Celestia's top pupil.
    • Rarity and Applejack could switch sins. Rarity got very envious of Fluttershy's fame, while Applejack is the one who sings about making money.
      • Applejack sings about making money for her family. Earlier she mentioned using it to get a new barn and plow and replace Granny Smith's hip. So Greed still fits Rarity better.
        • As the guy who created this WMG, Rarity can be Prideful herself, and Twilight can be Wrathful since she evolves to Rapidash.

There will be an episode where one of the ponies gets a boyfriend.

And the others will do everything in their power to break up the relationship, since they're worried it might break up their friendship. (And since their friendship powers the Elements of Harmony needed to fight off serious threats to Equestria, this is a little less selfish then it sounds.) The boyfriend will most likely leave at the end of the episode.

  • Maybe, though if he leaves at the end it could present a Family-Unfriendly Aesop if it isn't handled well.
    • It could just be revealed that their relationship was purely platonic and the other ponies were wearing Shipping Goggles. Or they decided that their relationship wasn't going to work out and became Just Friends offscreen.

There will be an episode where the Mane Cast find a hippocampus washed up on a beach.

A hippocampus is a mythical creature with a horse body and a fish tail instead of back legs. Faust has expressed interest in using them, so it's a possibility. After some problems at a weather factory, there is a HUGE storm. After things clear up, the Mane Cast goes down to the beach to clean up, where they find a hippocampus washed up on the beach. She swam too far away from her home when the storm came and she ended up getting blown VERY far away. Parts of the seas can be dangerous, and she does't know the way home. The Mane Cast gets a boat and uses their skills and knowledge to help her get through a safe, quick route home. They succeed, and the end moral will be something like "Friends should team up to help others" or "Helping others is a good way to make friends".

The next villain after Discord...

There are three basic types of villains. Type one is a dark spirit that cannot have its own form, but must take the form of others (Nightmare Moon applies). Type two is a physical being who represents a form of evil, like Discord representing chaos. The third type is a mix; a physical being that is not truly human/pony/whatever. They represent all forms of evil and can have their own form. However, they are composed completely of shadow and are usually a dark counterpart. My guess is a group of dark versions of the mane cast will appear and attempt to destroy the Elements of Harmony.

Opinions are appreciated.

Applejack et al will be forced to deal with her nasty cousin "Crab Apple".

It seems like no matter what they do to cheer him up (Parties, new clothes, all the books he wants) he's still grumpy, complains about everything, and makes the others feel bad. In the end, They leave him to brood on his own with the Aesop of "You can't please all the people all the time".

  • Then again, it can be twisted into other aesops: Crab Apple was upset about something that happened back home and wasn't in the mood for socializing ("People need time for themselves too.") or they actually ask what he likes, and it turns out he simply doesn't like the stuff they have been doing, and enjoys other activities the mane six normally wouldn't consider fun, like playing in the mud or something. ("Not everyone's ideas of fun is the same, and it's only fair we all get to do the things we enjoy.")

One of the villains this season will be a Music Meister.

Considering the entire cast are pretty much fantastic singers as we've seen so far, it'd be a shame not to do a Musical Episode, but most of the songs done so far have had to have been limited to one per episode...or most often done by Pinkie Pie. Word of God has confirmed there will be more villains this season, why not take advantage of it and have one of them be an excuse for a Musical Episode. And end it with someone who doesn't like singing (perhaps Sweetie Belle, which could also go a little bit, or even all the way, into earning her Cutie Mark) having to beat the villain in a singing contest or something.

There will be a bit character who is an older male pony, accompanied by two young, beautiful, and curiously-dressed female ponies, and his name will be Hugh Hoofner.

'Cause, you know, just for funny.

The next big enemy of the Ponies will try to replace Celestia's rule with a bureaucratic order where emotions like friendship would be abandoned in the name of efficiency.

Until now, we had Eternal Night and Eternal Chaos, so why not Eternal Order as the next big threat? It would be as much antagonistic to Friendship as Eternal Chaos, and possibly even more than Eternal Night. It's definitely a possibility.

One of the new villains will be an old minion of Nightmare Moon.

Perhaps a Golem or other mechanical creature, lying dormant for a thousand years but suddenly awakened. Luna will probably feel some guilt about the harm that comes to other ponies (Bonus points if she actually created the villain in the first place if it is artificial or magical in nature) due to this villain's rampage. The villain may try to return Luna to her Nightmare Moon form.

The next villain will force be Discord Threshold level.

Possibly the "order villain" suggested elsewhere but the situation will become so bleak they have to release Discord.

Some part of "Hearth's Warming Eve" will foreshadow a coming villain.

  • Shortly after Return of Harmony, part 2 aired Jayson mentioned another villain. At some point in this episode, there will be a hint of the villain's nature, perhaps they will somehow have been involved in the blizzard.
    • This has some merit to it. The Windigos are hinted in the episode to still be around. All they need is a little interspecies animosity…
    • Jayson was probably talking about Chrysalis.

Medusa will appear somewhere in the series.

Either as a Monster of the Week, a monster recalled in another story about Equestria's past, referenced somewhere, or even a Big Bad. Why?

  1. 1: It'd be awesome.
  2. 2: Pegasus (so maybe, the first Pegasi) came from Medusa, and that could be referenced in this series.

There will be a villain with the power to take away cutie marks.

When the cutie marks are gone, so are the talents that they represent. However, the Mane Six manage to defeat him using their secondary talents.

There will be more background ponies with hourglass cutie marks.

An older stallion named William Hoofnell will appear (in a coat that originally belonged to Sir William S. Gilbuck or Sir Arther Seymour Sullimane), and there will be another in a long colorful scarf.

We’ll see more changelings in the future

Certainly their queen will try to take over the kingdom again, but we might meet one of the rogue Changelings. This little one in particular will still feed off of love, but he finds that if he gives a small amount of love to others, he gets a lot back in return, more than enough to sustain him. He is opposed to his species policy of forcibly extracting love, and only uses his shapeshifting powers to get ponies to trust him more. He will come across either Fluttershy or Pinkie Pie, and they will be the first to accept him as a changeling.

Fluttershy will turn out to have an older brother when we finally see her family.

In keeping with an emerging pattern of the quieter member of each pair in the Mane Six having an older sibling (Twilight has Shining Armor while Rarity is the oldest child in her family, Applejack has Big Macintosh while Pinkie Pie's sisters are the same age as her), when we see Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash's families, Rainbow Dash will be an only child (although she might have Amazingly Embarrassing Parents with a super-girly mom in a shout-out to her previous incarnation), but Fluttershy will have an older brother with the same large and strong-looking Non-Standard Character Design as Shining Armor and Big Mac. He'll either be a quiet, mellow Gentle Giant that nonetheless can't share Fluttershy's hobbies because Animals Hate Him or a flashy Jerk with a Heart of Gold that intimidates Fluttershy but is still very fond of her.

Brad Swaile will voice one or more character(s) in Season 3.

Think about it. The original My Little Pony was the first show Brad ever worked on. Plus, all generations including G4 feature several voice actors from the English Death Note cast hence being dubbed by the same company (i.e. The Ocean Group). We already have Rarity as Naomi, Spike as Near, singing Pinkie Pie as Misa, Prince Blueblood as Aizawa and Soarin as Sidoh and Gevanni. So why not put a cap on this voice actor connection by getting Light Yagami himself on the show?

== This [dead link] green [dead link] Earth [dead link] pony [dead link] stallion is an upcoming character from the show. == All of the other G4 toy stallions, molded and otherwise, have been characters from the show: Big Macintosh, Chance-a-lot (Caramel), Goldengrape, Meadow Song, Mosely Orange, Noteworthy, Royal Riff, Shining Armor, and Twilight Sky. On the other hand, we don't know if this green guy is actually going to be released...

Possible Plots

The Aesop in the final episode (assuming the series is not canceled mid season) will be about learning to part ways with friends.

The series takes it's viewers at least somewhat seriously compared to most girls cartoons. The final planned episode will involve the main cast being called away from Ponyville for their own reasons, with at least a couple in a situation where they won't likely meet the rest of the group again. The episode will involve one of the ponies desperately clinging onto contact with some or all of the other ponies, before learning that her clinginess is only serving to hinder her friends' own lives and making the whole process more painful for everyone involved. Lauren Faust will want to let the target audience know that friendship that suffocates is just selfishness. The ending will be "happy" as the ponies come to terms with the fact, but will still be mildly depressing, just like in Real Life.

  • This troper assumes that sooner or later, Twilight Sparkle will have to go back to Canterlot anyhow, so the series finale discussed above would actually make a lot of sense.
  • The lesson will be ill taught by Celestia, wishing to keep Twilight from being psychologically tortured later in life like herself. One pony will become dangerously depressed, and Celestia will forbid, in a loving motherly way, Twilight from returning, in an attempt to teach her to let go. The true final lesson will be that while you may have to break paths with friends, that does not mean you must abandon them. This lesson will be one Twilight teaches to Celestia as she escapes back to Ponyville against Celestia's orders.
  • Let's be honest, the show's aimed at young girls. Seeing as simply reading the synopsis made this rather stoic troper die a little inside, imagine how the target audience would feel with an ending like that. It's much more likely that the final episode of the first season will be their biggest adventure, but they'd likely still be together at the end. It's what the fans would want, and it leaves room for a second season.
    • Series finale, not season.
      • My bad. My point still stands, however. This is My Little Pony we're talking about. It's pretty likely that they'd end on a high note.
  • No, the series finale will be the previous season finale because some executive Jerkass will decide to pull the plug without warning. Bitter? Me?
    • How'd the Sym-Bionic Titan fans get in here?
      • Pfft, kids these days. I came by my opinion through Firefly and Babylon 5, thank you very much.
      • Hey, we needed something to watch.
  • Seriously, it would be a lot more likely that in the final episode Celestia will cave in and let Twilight Sparkle stay in Ponyville, considering her actions in "Ticket Master" and "Bird in the Hoof" (while saying "she'll change her mind eventually" to herself as she had just made Twilight into an immortal God-Princess).
    • The lesson of "learning to say goodbye to your friends" will actually come when Spike eventually grows too large to stay with Twilight and must go into the world to live as an adult dragon.
      • I think that will be (part of) the series finale. A "learning to say goodbye to friends" episode would be touching, especially to those of us who have had to say goodbye to friends who we know we won't see for a long time. One or more of the mane ponies having to say goodbye would be a bit too sad, I think, and it might be difficult to justify one of them leaving for good. If Twilight returned to Canterlot it would not be hard for her to visit regularly and the others could easily spend the rest of their lives in Ponyville. But Spike will grow up and have to leave eventually. And if the series finale does involve anyone having to say goodbye, you can count on declarations of "Confound these ponies they drive me to tears".
      • And being the living fax machine that he is, it would be easy for Spike to keep in contact with Twilight and the other ponies.
  • The series finale may be about the friends getting separated... but still end with a high note with Twilight attempting to reunite them. More specifically, she would try to reunite them displaying each of the elements of harmony along the way to drive the point home... and fail, accepting the aesop. However, after some time passes, she realizes she doesn't like being a twilight-god-princess as much as she wants her friends back, and breaks the previous aesop by giving it a second try. Thus deconstructing friendship and then reconstructing it.
  • While I'm sure that Aesop will be in an episode, I doubt it will happen like that, especially for a last episode. Personally, I think a new character will join the cast for a little while (just enough time for her to grow on us), and then will have to leave for some reason or another, and the Aesop will be used then. Mostly because I doubt the mane cast will ever have to say goodbye for good to each other, not in a show like this.
  • If it resembles this fanfic in any way, this normally collected troper will spending the rest of the day bawwwing his eyes out.
  • This is a very interesting idea, and one that would add a great deal of extra depth to an already interesting show. If it appears in the middle of a season, it might be a tremendous Growing the Beard or Cerebus Syndrome moment for the show. And if it happens as the original poster guesses in a Grand Finale of sorts, I will officially declare that episode/group of episodes "My Little Pony's Toy Story 3"
    • Indeed. Also, this could serve as a somewhat mild variation of Torch the Franchise and Run, as, if the characters end up accepting the parting of ways, it could potentially disable any third party Revival of the series (at least involving the characters). If anything, it would most likely be a Reunion Show of some sort. In essence, this would be an excellent episode to finish off the series.

Applejack will be revealed to have been replaced by a Changeling

Why else would she make her "Liarjack" face at the end of A Canterlot Wedding? Also explains why Applejack randomly loses her hat in some scenes in the season 2 finale scuffle. Applejack will turn out to have been lost in the big clone fight between the Mane Six and the Changelings and a changeling follows the rest into Ponyville. Over time, the changeling will grow genuinely fond of the rest of the cast, and beg for forgiveness once the real Applejack is found.

  • Alternatively, Applejack encounters an injured Changeling disguised as her near Ponyville (crash-landed after the wedding?), and she has to choose between forgiving the Changeling and helping them (which would likely entail lying to her friends), or just ratting the Changeling out to Ponyville (and risk causing a Changeling Hunt to break out). The episode would end with AJ taking a third option of some kind.
  • Applejack would probably let the Changeling masquerade as her so she could go into town unnoticed. She would be unmasked by Applebloom, and the third option would be to try to honestly tell Ponyville to accept their new member

The series will have a Distant Finale

The finale will show where the mane six are years from now. Rarity now owns a line of shops in Canterlot, Rainbow Dash has joined the Wonderbolts, Twilight has become a royal archmage, Pinkie Pie has her own bakery in Ponyville, Applejack runs Sweet Apple Acres and Fluttershy... I got nothing. Some of the mane six will be shown to have married, with Applejack having a lot of kids, while others are happily single. ("There are many different ways to be a girl", remember? Self-worth doesn't depend on having a man around.) The episode will focus on their annual reunion. While they don't see each other every day like they used to, friendship never truly goes away. Also, we'll get to see a fully grown Spike and the CMC will finally have their cutie marks.

The return of the Windigoes will appear as season two finale or part of season three.

As of "Putting your Hoof Down," the ponies of Ponyville became ruder, greedier, and more impatient {{Jerk Asses Jerkass}} than ever. Eventually some-pony will perform an Moral Event Horizon that not only frees the Windingoes but Discord as well.

Dash's second Sonic Rainboom will be important in the future.

Her first one indirectly helped the mane cast to get there Cutie Marks, and (as said below) possibly aided in binding the bearers of the Elements of Harmony together. According to Pinkie, no one's ever done a Sonic Rainboom since. So, it's possible that when one does occur, it has far reaching consequences.

  • It kind of was, considering it already happened. In episode 16. Where the plot revolved around Rainbow pulling it off. Just sayin'.
    • I believe the OP meant that the Sonic Rainboom in episode 16 will have greater significance than we currently know.
  • Or Perhaps it will have something to do with the villains. Just a guess.

A later episode will feature Twilight and company visitng Zecora's homeland.

There'll be some Scenery Porn inspired by the Serengeti Plains, the usual culture shock jokes, maybe an encounter with a monster from African folklore in which they team up with the locals to save the day, and a lesson in mutual respect for other cultures or something.

Prince Blueblood will learn a lesson in humility.

After he is banished from Canterlot for insulting Celestia's students.

  • Hmmm…sounds like the plot of a certain Disney film. Well, if Disney has taught us anything, it's that the only way to teach a spoiled prince to mend his ways is via Baleful Polymorph. If Blueblood is somehow turned into a creature, either Pinkie or Fluttershy will try to make a pet of him.

Rarity opens up a franchise in Canterlot.

And from then on, roughly half of the episodes take place there.

Trixie will return in the third season, AND...

She will have a royal commission to study friendship from Princess Luna, effectively making her the Black Magician Pony to Twilight's Magical Pony Warrior, and will also wind up being either her Worthy Opponent, Friendly Enemy, or The Rival.

  • Due to Fan demand, Trixie's return will be kinda unavoidable.

Even though they won't be in true opposition to each other (both will be trying to save friendships and ponies with what they learn) the mirroring aspect will be complete enough that while Twilight is focused on what makes friendships start and grow, Trixie will be finding out what makes them fail and die. Also, while Twilight has Spike as a Non-Pony Sidekick, Trixie will wind up with Snips & Snails as her assistants.

At least a fifth to a fourth of the show's Aesop endings will be submitted by Trixie to Luna, and will provide a wrap-up of what NOT to do.

Season 3 will have an episode in which

Celestia will leave Twilight in temporary charge (while having the important stuff already done, just to be sure) of Equestria, while she and Luna take a spa day or something. As the rest of the cast get toured around the capital by Spike, in which Hilarity Ensues. Twilight will become obsessed with the littlest things. Add in Pinkie causing riots or something. At the end, Celestia will return, and teach Twilight that leaders need to place trust in their followers, that not everything needs to be done yourself.

Musical Episode!

Even more than usual, I mean. Weird Al could make a Pony Polka!

  • Alternatively, the Mane Six lose all their voices due to the musical villain (possibly played by "Weird Al") so the plot will be mostly served by the background ponies like Octavia and DJ Pon-3.

There will be an episode where Dash finally gets an invite to join the Wonderbolts...

... But ends up turning it down, because she finds out that if she takes it she'll rarely ever get to see her friends again. The aesop of the episode would be something like sometimes friends are more important than one's own desires.

  • Alternatively, it could be somethinng like she finally gets an invite to join them, but something puts her friends in danger (Possibly the antagonist of season 3). She would then be forced between her friends or joining the Wonderbolts, to which she'll get a Big Damn Heroes moment when she chooses her friends.
    • You really think Discord would simply do something like that? Assuming he would come back.
    • Either that, or Dash chooses to Take a Third Option, and somehow finds a way to be loyal to her friends and the Wonderbolts at the same time (possibly performing another Sonic Rainboom on the way to and/or in order to rescue her friends), and our Aesop for the episode is something about how you can (and should) always make time for your friends.

Alternatively, there will be an episode involving RD and Wonderbolts but she will just hang with them or be a temporary member.

And episode will be about or conclusion from it that RD will abandon for now or forever of her dream to be Wonderbolt and stick with rest of main six as what she realizes that it is her true calling.

  • Alternatively-alternatively (Wonderbolt episode ideas are fun!), one of the Wonderbolts gets injured before an upcoming race with a rival team and Spitfire suggests having Rainbow Dash (she did win the Best Young Flyer's competition after all) fill in. As it turns out, the rival team is the best flying team of griffons, with none other than Gilda (who's still bitter about the events of "Griffon the Brush Off") among their ranks. At some point in the episode, for whatever reason, Gilda's life will be in danger and Dash will have to choose between saving Gilda or winning the race for the Wonderbolts, and of course chooses Gilda. They reconcile, Spitfire tells Dash she made the right choice even though the Wonderbolts lost the race, an Aesop is given about loyalty to friends, you get the idea.
  • Or Dash is given the chance to perform a routine with them, triggering a major "ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh" attack. While she doesn't become a permanent mamber, she a least gets to keep the costume.

Or an episode where Rainbow Dash learns of all the mundane things the Wonderbolts do, and she loses interest in the group.

Season 3 will feature an episode in which

A magical mishap of some sort causes the mane cast to turn into adorable babies, and the responsibility of taking care of them will fall to the CMC. Zecora may get some time to shine as well, as she would most likely be the first one that Apple Bloom would think of to ask for help; this would also give the writers an excuse to have the CMC become Badly Battered Babysitters as they try to keep six rambunctious babies from getting hurt in the Everfree Forest and learn a lesson about responsibility.

One episode will feature double rainbow all the all the way across the sky.

What will it mean? It might even be a triple rainbow!

There will be The Obligatory Body Swap Episode.

Maybe it won't be in Season 2, maybe it will, but at some point in the show's course there will inevitably be some sort of magical accident that causes the mane cast to turn into one another, though still sounding like themselves for some reason, and be forced to live as each other for a single day. The friendship report will, naturally, be about different perspectives and walking a mile in someone else's horseshoes. Here are some possible swapees and who they might become. Feel free to add.

  • Twilight Sparkle
    • Rainbow Dash
    • Princess Celestia
    • Spike
  • Rarity
  • Pinkie Pie
    • Twilight Sparkle
  • Applejack
    • Rarity
  • Fluttershy
    • Pinkie Pie
  • Rainbow Dash
    • Applejack
  • ...Spike?
    • Twilight Sparkle
    • Even better, Rarity for a hilarious Mythology Gag! (Spike's voice actress was G3 Rarity)
  • Hell, maybe even Princess Celestia!
    • Twilight Sparkle
    • Luna, probably for some coup d'etat.
  • A six-way swap between the whole mane cast.
  • Perhaps an explaination could be Twilight temporally having a mess up with her magic and losing control of it for a short time.
  • Also, given the now obvious Darker and Edgier tone the show has taken, I wouldn't be surprized if there was a The Mind Is a Plaything of the Body aspect to it, gradually picking up each others mannerisms, abilities, memories and the like, gradually start forgeting their own, and with each of the ponies getting used to their new host bodies, causing them to find a way to turn back before it was too late. I would think the change would be most apperant in whoever gets stuck as Rainbow Dash if, for no other reason, the new-found freedom that comes with her body. And, also, it's clear that the show does not assume that Viewers are Morons. It never has. So I don't know about the Voices Are Mental thing. Besides, it'd be hysterical for one pony's vocal mannerisms to come from the voice of another.
    • Maybe they never get back into their old bodies, but just adapt to their new bodies so well over time that it effectively restores status quo.

Season 3 will introduce Hippogriffs, the port town of Stalliongrad and Airships

The Hippogriffs will also come in Unicorn (though this time it's double Horned), Pegasus, and Earth varieties, and be highly skilled with tools and vehicles given their Pony Heritage, Claws by Griffin heritage, and their never-ending need to find new and better ways to make dinner with little or no effort on their part. They live in Stalliongrad, a massive seaport-airport hybrid where ships sail the seas and the skies.

  • It would also reek heavily of communist bloc cities, and the Aesop is finding joy in the darkest of times.

The Girls get re-invited to the gala, but they don't want to go.

So they try to foist the tickets on other ponies, but are having trouble choosing who to give them to.

  • Twilight Sparkle will try to "accidentally" "lose" her ticket to Trixie in a competition. Either Pinkie Pie or Rainbow Dash (or both) will try to pass their tickets to Gilda. Rarity will try to pass it to several different ponies (Photo Finish, Hoity Toity, even Blueblood) only to realize that her attempts are doomed to fail because outside the main cast, she knows mainly High Society ponies who already have their own tickets. Applejack will do the obvious and just try to sell the ticket. Fluttershy, too shy to even approach anyone, will have no idea whatsoever what to do. Of course, they all fail.

The mane cast will attend the next Grand Galloping Gala...

...but rather than treating it as a privilege like they did in season 1, they will consider their attending a public service. Expect Fluttershy making up with the palace critters and leading an invasion, Twilight greeting guests in a manner designed to induce maximum confusion (possibly involving servings of Word Salad and/or Paranoia Fuel), Pinkie Pie being more Pinkie Pie than ever before, and at least one Sonic Rainboom. (Luna will also be there, her absence at last year's being explained by Celestia telling her she wouldn't like it and her presence at this one by Celestia eagerly assuring her that this one was guaranteed to be interesting, Twilight having indicated to her that they had some surprises planned.)

Spike will get turned into a pony for an episode.

Because it would not only be funny, but the moral could be a "Trot a mile in Another's Hooves" type deal.

There will be an episode confronting Spike's place in the cast

One of the big debates around Spike (even on this very wiki) is his place in the show. Is he part of the main cast or is he a secondary character? Is he his own person or is he more like Twilight's pet? There's evidence for each point in the show, and an episode (although since he's already had his A Day in the Limelight episode for this season it may not be until season 3) will confront these issues and change the character dynamic a bit.

Rainbow Dash will go back in time and perform a Sonic Rainboom thereby creating the original myth surrounding the phenomenon.

Gilda and Trixie will team up with the villains.

Ashamed with being laughed out of Ponyville, Trixie falls into a deep depression. The same evil force that turned Luna into Nightmare Moon will see this as an opportunity to take over a potentially powerful host. It convinces her to host it, promising that it will greatly amplify her powers. It also manages to convince other characters, among them, Gilda, to join it's side. They go to fight the main characters. Gilda is asked to take down Rainbow Dash. She gives Rainbow Dash a beating, but finds herself unable to deliver the final blow. She remembers the good times that they had, and their years of friendship. She realizes what a jerk she was, and decides to side with the main characters, fighting against the evil force.

  • I like the idea that they are offered the chance to become villains in exchange for power to get back at those who showed them up, but Trixie refuses because if she can't win on her own then her boasts are even more hollow and Gilda thinks that kind of plot is lame. The evil force then brainwashes them anyways.

In the season 3 two part opener, Doctor Whooves will be a main character, and will be voiced by David Tennant

This is the only possible way they could top Disqord. The Master (voiced by John Simms, but of course) will have stolen the elements, warped them to the elements of chaos, and used their power to de-age Celestia and Luna into their filly versions. Its up to the Doctor and his companions (and of course, Derpy) to stop him before he can raise the sun and become the new ruler of Equestria.

Or, you know, something a lot better than that.

Krastus the Glue-man will be the big bad of a season well down the road

Kraustus seems like the bit of fanon that the makers want to put in, but know they could never get away with at this point. Hell, they barely got away with showing part of a coffin at this point. But eventually, aftering having pushed the envelope, they'll feel brave enough to bring up Krastus

Derpy Hooves/Ditzy Doo will have her own episode.

It will be about a letter that HAS to be delivered, but can't due to some complication (a monster?) and the name of it will be some pun on "Through hail, wind or snow". The Mane cast will gain a new found respect for the postal service, and the aesop will be about appreciating people. And it will still have plenty of derpy moments, even if Derpy will be shown to be a good mailmare overall.

  • Given the voicing and klutziness she was given in "The Last Roundup", Derpy's episode could by of the Very Special Episode type, where the Mane Six come to help her feel appreciated, with an Aesop about accepting people even if they are that different.

Pinkie Pie will have an episode where the Aesop will be about Poor Communication Kills

Because after the paraspite ep, it would be odd. Might show up in season 3 instead.

Twilight Sparkle will be turned into a Vampony

But she'll find that undeath is overrated as she can't be around her friends without hungering for their blood (or Life Energy since it's a kid's show), can't see her beloved mentor's sun again, and doesn't cast a reflection. So she'll find a cure for it by the end of the episode.

Derpy Hooves is going to have a Face Heel Turn.

We already know that she is going to be part of the Mane cast, but she doesn't exactly represent an element of harmony (since there should only be 6,) does she? The answer? They put in an opposite force, elements of discord or whatever, and use HER as the 6th one, we already have 5 (the force that controlled Luna, and the 4 stars that helped Nightmare Moon escape). Some of the later (or pilot) episode(s) will revolve around this turn of events, possibly with a solid continuity. I only wish it didn't make so much sense.

  • When did Lauren Faust say Derpy'd be part of the Mane cast?

Sweet Apple Acres is hit by a blight.

After bringing Granny Smith home from surgery, Big Mac, Applejack and Apple Bloom find out that in their absence their crops have been hit by "skyworms" and have rendered it all inedible. With the family's source of income gone, and Granny Smith's medical bills keep piling up, the three grandchildren have to figure out a way to make ends meet. Applejack asked Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Fluttershy for help, but they each run off in a different direction. Big Macintosh offers his services as a delivery pony, but does not get many customers, Applejack gets a part-time job at Sugarcube corner (Because Pinkie Pie has gone to visit her parents) but is too stressed to do anything right, and poor Apple bloom tries a bunch of things, but fails at every turn. When "Mr. Taxes" comes to repossess the farm, Twilight Sparkle runs up and presents Mr. Taxes with a basket full of bits. Twilight has sold some of her books to help Applejack and her family, but sadly this isn't enough. Rarity and Fluttershy show up with a BIGGER basket of bits, as they worked their tails off to find and sell gems, but this still isn't enough. Finally Rainbow Dash shows up with the rest of town, She did a little stunt show to raise money, and when the townsponies asked why, they each wanted to help. The Cakes, Mayor Pony, Cherrilee, and everyone else shows up with money in hoof. Before anyone could count it all, Spike coughs up a letter from Celestia, who has graciously loaned the apple family one million bits. Applejack is moved to tears by her friend's generosity, and Mr. Taxes lets the Apple family keep their farm. In the end, they had all collected fourteen times the amount of money the apple family needed, and since Pinkie Pie just returned (With the entire crop of another Apple family's farm in tow. Don't worry, this was donated), they throw a party. The Aesop is "True friends stick together through thick and thin".

Rarity tries to "Turn Rainbow Dash into a Lady."

A fellow designer stops by Rarity's shop to "find inspiration" and she introduces herself to the rest of the mane cast. Things go well until she meets Rainbow Dash, who seems to give the guest pony a rather slovenly greeting and she arrives at the shop covered in mud. Deeply offended, Rarity asks the girls to please help Miss Designer by touring Ponyville, and Rarity sets to work teaching Rainbow Dash etiquette. Dash does not enjoy one minute of this and tries to thwart Rarity's attempts. Eventually, the rest of the Mane cast are forced to return to the shop, where Rarity and Rainbow Dash have begun to fight it out. Suddenly, The designer reveals her less lady-like side, and this shocks everyone. It turns out the designer was born and raised in the boonies of Equestria, and seems relieved that she has found someone she can be less formal around. The lesson here is "You can't change people, accept them for who they are."

We'll get a Time Travel episode where some of the cast meets Nightmare Moon during her imprisonment.

There'll be an accident sending some ponies to the moon during Nightmare Moon's imprisonment. Nightmare Moon, having gone crazy from the lack of social interaction, will go Yandere for them.

  • As a Brick Joke, perhaps have Luna apologize to them at some time in the episode for no clear reason, the first time they've met since her freedom. They think it's just for her being Nightmare Moon in general, but at the end, they find out this is what she meant.

There will be an episode that will address Cutie Mark Failure Insanity Syndrome.

Considering that all of the mane characters have had at least one mental breakdown, it would be interesting to have an episode where they have to face their problems.

Pinkie Pie will help Sweetie Belle get over her fear of singing in front of audiences.

Her or Rarity. it'd be a nice sister-bonding moment if it was Rarity.

Diamond Tiara will temporarily lose her cutie mark.

She has to spend a whole week without it, and comes to respect the CMCs a little more. She still remains friends with them once she gets her cutie mark back (but she keeps it a secret).

There will be an episode where Rainbow Dash puts on a member of the Wonderbolts uniform while they aren't looking…

…And proceed to get chased around by Wonderbolts fans.

There will be an episode parodying the perception of Celestia as evil.

By either misunderstanding, possession, or... Really, who knows what else?

  • And it will be called "A Bird In The Hoof".
    • Another way this could happen is the mane cast taking a trip to the pony equivalent of Hollywood, and starring in a movie where Celestia is the villain, with all her terrible deeds in Fanon played for laughs. (Banishing ponies to the moon on a whim? There's an entire city up there, with strong implications that an invasion/rebellion is imminent. Constantly pranking her subjects? Everypony's used to it, to the point that Celestia not pranking them is cause for concern.) At the end of the episode is a Twist Ending: Celestia herself was the director!

There will be an episode where Spike feels embarrassed about only hanging out with girls.

  • Some other boys (dragon, pony, or otherwise) will tease Spike about his "girly" interests, probably after he's just helped Rarity with something particularly girly, and he'll spend the episode trying to prove that he's "manly." At the end, he will learn An Aesop (possibly from Rainbow Dash) about how your real friends don't care if you're a boy who likes girly things or a girl who likes boyish things, and will accept you for who you are. The entire episode will be filled to the brim with nods to the bronies who aren't afraid to admit to enjoying "a show for little girls."

The infamious Cupcakes fic will become an Ascended Meme...

...In the form of an in-universe scary movie being filmed in Ponyvile. Pinkie Pie will be cast as the villain and Rainbow Dash as a victim. Naturally it'll be toned down, but refrences will be made while they're reading the script that only people who are aware of the fic will realize. Possibly as a Nightmare Night Episode.

  • Alternatively, it's a ghost story written by Spike after the events of Party Of One.
  • Or, if Krastos the Glue Maker actually shows up, he/she will be dressed similar to the outfit used in the fic.

Trixie and Gilda will meet up and become friends with each other and semi-friendly rivals with the Mane cast.

Fluttershy learns the art of farming.

Ok, so it's been established that the earth ponies are the only cultivators of land, right? But Fluttershy, being more in tune with earth than sky, might be able to learn that too, from Apple and Pinkie. So, other Pegasus (which don't know how to farm) will begin to pressure her to expose Earth Pony secrets. There could be some sort of secret Pegasus order dedicated to learning earth pony secrets.

There will be a horror parody episode.

Which will be in Horror Anthology format, with a mysterious narrator telling three or four stories in one episode, all either borrowing from a story in the fandom or being a new one but with a few references, also being a bit marginally lighter than the source, the Twist Ending of the episode will reveal either Pinkie Pie or Fluttershy as the narrator, just telling creepy stories to her friends.

  • That could work as a Halloween special...

Possible stories will reference:

There will be a serious "Find the Cure" episode.

One of the group will get deathly sick and half of them will have to locate a cure, while the others stay behind to take care of her. Possibly Twilight, since her teleportation power could resolve the plot too fast. This seems to be a fairly popular fanfic plot for the series (and this is a series thus far prone to Ascended Memes anyway) for the simple fact it'd certainly be a dramatic way to reinforce the friendship theme of the series over all. What better way to show the friendship of the characters than one of them being in serious danger and the others come to their aid?

  • And if you like irony, they will succeed, only to find that the hospital pulled the plug on the one. This could lead the rest to go so far as to burn the hospital.

There will be a Cloning Gambit episode.

There will be an Easy Amnesia episode.

Either with one pony or all of em'.

Fluttershy's Friend to All Living Things ability will be used to pull a Big Damn Heroes moment at some point.

Since there will be villains this season, it'd be a pretty good opportunity to combine her Mama Bear mentality when it comes to her friends with her ability to befriend giant monsters. Think about it, bad guy has the group on the ropes, about to finish them off and Fluttershy shows up with some backup, like the Dragon from Dragonshy or the Manticore from the pilot, to save the day.

  • Or they show up because they sense Fluttershy, their friend, is in danger.

There will be an episode in which Luna is fulfilling Celestia's role.

Since Celestia mentioned they were meant to rule together, it only stands to reason that eventually Luna will take some princessing duties on herself. On one such occasion, she'll have to deal with the Mane Cast, perhaps giving them a task and supervising them.

Twilight will have to deal with responding not to her favourite mentor, but to someone who she barely knows but whom she is supposed to show the same respect and dedication, thus she'll be much more anxious about screwing something up, as well as harboring a slight resentment to Celestia for sending someone else to watch over her most faithful student.

The episode will probably end with Twilight writing a letter to Luna.

Trixie will get trapped in a lamp.

After being beaten by Twilight, she falls into the despair that many ponies go through when they feel they didn't follow through with the talent their Cutie Mark represents. In a quest for power, she finds the most powerful being is a genie. She goes through to become one, without realizing that genies are bound to a lamp and must do what the owner says. Eventually someone in Ponyville (maybe one of the Mane Cast, like Rainbow Dash or Spike, or a side character like Snips or Snails) gets ahold of the lamp and makes her grant all their wishes, to her dismay.

The Mane Six will have to fight The Smooze.

Except they won't win. Because nothing can stop The Smooze.[1]

There will be a episode centered in the mane six's pets.

We'll be getting a Story Arc at some point in Season 3 and/or beyond...

Word of God is that Hasbro insisted that the episodes be written to be viewed in any order, meaning no story arcs. But quite a few other shows started out with this mentality only to start introducing overarching plots in later seasons once it gained enough popularity and got the ball rolling. Given the wide Periphery Demographic, this show has gained plenty of popularity to say the least.

The "Want it, Need it" spell will be used by an unscrupulous salespony.

A traveling peddler will come to ponyville selling useless wares (like perhaps used tissues) but enchant them with the spell. He can't be effected by the spell thanks to some special sunglasses he always wears, but everyone else in Ponyville is caught in the sway.

  • He wouldn't need to wear special sunglasses. When Twilight cast the spell, she wasn't affected by it, presumably because she was the one who cast it.

We're going to see some of the Mane Cast's worst nightmares (either in an All Just a Dream episode or not) at some point.

Among them being:

  • Twilight Sparkle: Either losing her friends or absolutely losing control of her powers. Or possibly both.
    • If hers is a dream, she'll lose her magic BECAUSE she lost her friends over something silly. We already know Twilight freaks over this sort of thing. If not, she'll lose her magic because of some illness unicorns can contract, where their magic gets backed up or doesn't work right for 24 hours. This will happen on a day where her friends have all requested use of her magical ability, and she will have to try and look like she's doing magic when she can't. This will make her friends mad because she'll mess it all up (since Twilight failed so badly during Winter Wrap-Up), and they'll think she did it on purpose. All will be fixed when Twilight just breaks down and tells them, OR Rarity figures it out because she once had the same problem, or Sweetie Belle just recovered from it.
    • It's been implied in lots of episodes that Twilight's real worst fear is disappointing Princess Celestia, so it could be that instead.
  • Rainbow Dash: Not being able to live up to the loyalty to her friends or actually being forced to choose between them (much like with Discord, though with less brainwashing).
    • In which case she would break the nightmare by taking the both awesome and heartwarming Third Option. A Heroic Sacrifice.
    • Alternately, we'll see her finally get to hang with the Wonderbolts as her prize from "Sonic Rainboom", since that never happened, and she'll try to show off and fail, and things will go south from there.
  • Pinkie Pie: Being forever alone with no one to laugh with.
  • Rarity: Falling out of favor with the fashion industry and/or having to get her mane and tail cut for some reason, like Sweetie Belle (or one of the other CMC, or somepony else) getting gum or similar in it or something.
  • Fluttershy: Falling out of favor with her animal friends, which frustrates her into treating her friends badly. A mix of what happened at the Gala and when she was under Discord's Mind Rape. At first, Fluttershy's friends will react badly to this, then worry about her and try to fix things. Might not be a bad dream after all.
  • Applejack: Sweet Apple Acres losing all or most of its main business because there is somepony else selling apples, either imports OR ones from Sweet Apple Acres itself that she (most likely she. It's always a she) is stealing. Twilight would greet this with nonchalance, as Twilight does, and tell Applejack that things will blow over or that she's simply imagining things and that Sweet Apple Acres is not really losing business.

There will be a Summer Sun Celebration episode.

And it will be filled with Continuity Porn.

There will be an episode parodying Sym-Bionic Titan.

Tara Strong's former castmates from that series will even make cameos voicing Pony versions of Lance and Newton/Octus.

There will be an episode where Spike meets other dragons.

He will meet other young dragons and hang out with them. Twilight will be supportive, since she knows he'll be happy having someone like himself to hang out with. Maybe she will even be the one who introduced them in the first place. But these new friends are jerks, they pressure Spike into doing things he doesn't want to do, and try to keep him from his pony friends by telling him that ponies are lame. The Mane Cast is concerned and tries to figure out what to do. Eventually he stands up to them when they take things too far and when he realizes who really cares about him, and the lesson is that true friends aren't always the ones who look and act like you.

  • Would this work better with or without one of the dragons pulling a Heel Face Turn against the others after Spike stands up to them and becoming a semi-reoccurring character? As long as it's written well enough, of course, possibly with some subtle Foreshadowing along the way.
  • This is basically the plot of "Dragon Quest".

One of the future episodes will be a Mystery Science Theater 3000 tribute episode.

All right, hear me out. Here's how I think it would go down: Our six heroes, split into two teams of three, would be playing a game of truth or dare. In the dair pile would be a Bad Apple, a dare so bad, nopony wants it. So naturally, one team draws the Bad Apple card. The dare: To go to the Movie Theater (that no one had bothered to mention til now for some reason) and go see the movie everyone's staying away from: Zombie Ponies from Outer Space. The trio then goes out to the Movie Theater (or Pony-Plex, as it'd be called) and find that nopony is there, they are the only three ponies in the theater for that screening (which, incidentally, is the only reason they're able to get away with talking throughout the movie.) The majority of the rest of the episode would consist of said riffing with the trio gradually finding that, although the film's bad, they're still having a good time regardless. The episode's moral would be something akin to the moral of the show on which the episode's based (and, no, I don't mean that one.): With a little help from your friends, you can get through just about anything, espcially bad movies. I know, it's a work in progress. Of course, we'd have to make sure that the target audience is not rubbed the wrong way and that talking throughout the motion picture is okay (which it ain't), but I still think it's a half-decent idea. What about you?

There will be an episode in which Snips & Snails try to act like Big Brother Mentors to Pipsqueak.

Unfortunately, Pipsqueak's complaints about being as old as they are will fall on deaf ears.

Granny Smith finally passes on.

Her grandchildren are all gathered together some dark and stormy night, and Granny's in bed, getting sicker by the minute. Zecora, Fluttershy, Nurse Redheart, and other Doctor ponies are unable to fix her, so they leave. The Grandchildren realize that this could be it. Applejack refuses to believe that Granny can't be cured and vows to protect her from "eternal sleep". Suddenly, there is a knock at the door. A little black unicorn filly wearing a raincoat wants to be let in from the rain. They let her in, and Applejack goes on and on about how she'll protect Granny Smith from "Eternal Sleep". Then they ask the unicorn what her name is. She is Eternal Sleep, and she is an alicorn. All three grandchildren are in disbelief that the personification of death is a child. Before they can stop her, Eternal Sleep gets into Granny Smith's bedroom and gives her the strength to say goodbye to her grandchildren. Granny Smith gives them all a speech about how proud she is of each of them, that to see them all doing so well made her life worth it. Finally, Applejack allows Eternal Sleep to hold Granny Smith's hoof and leads her away, just as the storm clouds dissipate. At the Funeral, Applejack is the only one not crying. When her friends ask her why, she explains that while she is sad at losing Granny, when she remembers everything she did for her, it makes her happy. Then Applejack writes a letter to Princess Celestia about how saying goodbye is hard, but the happy memories will stay with you forever.

We will get at least 1 new episode focusing entirely on

  • Applejack.
    • Maybe one where she competes with the local carrot business, and learns that partnerships pay off more than rivalries.
  • Fluttershy.
    • She could encounter some particularly nasty animal (a wolf, or a wild cat) that's giving the other fauna a hard time, and she'll have to find some non-violent way to deal with it.
  • Pinkie Pie.
  • Spike
    • With little to no appearance of any of the mane 6 (if they appear, it's so they can lampshade how they're not the focus of the episode).

Not necessarily in Season 3, but there will be a Rule 63 episode.

There will be an episode where two or sets of two ponies experience a Freaky Friday Flip, with the moral about respecting and understanding others' feelings.

It's not the last time we see the corrupted cast.

Perhaps later on, the mane cast will have to face their inner evils just like in Bleach where Ichigo fights his inner Hollow.

The next antagonist will pull Body Surfing.

...But do a generally poor job of imitating who the Mane Cast are when they do get control over at least one of them.

  • Or, in a Shout-Out to Star Trek: Voyager, every body swap lands the new host into the old host's body (c.f. the Freaky Friday Flip guesses above). For example: Zecora gets dumped into a visitor's body, Apple Bloom gets dumped into Zecora's, Rainbow Dash into Apple Bloom's, Applejack into Dashie's, Rarity into Applejack's, Fluttershy into Rarity's, Pinkie Pie into Fluttershy's, Twilight Sparkle into Pinkie's, Big Macintosh into Twilight's, the Mayor into Big Mac's, and Derpy into the Mayor's. Hilarity Ensues over a two-or-three-parter).

One of the Mane Cast will die.

At the hands of the villains of S3, signaling a darker mood to the series, with that episode's Aesop being dealing with the death of friends. Expect one of that ponies closer friends, such as Rainbow Dash to Applejack, to be crushed. Perhaps in a later episode said friend would have the killer at their mercy, most likely with an Aesop about mercy.

  • And now hopefully that I have posted this, the universe will do its best to stop it.

The ugly dresses from Suited for Success will eventually reappear during a costume party.

Expect Rarity to be appalled, until it's pointed out that technically she didn't design them, her friends did.

Luna will cause some serious trouble again.

Despite things going well on Nightmare Night, Luna's public image will remain quite poor, with most of the world's ponies mistrustful or hateful of her because of the things Nightmare Moon did in the past. Also, ponies will give no more attention/love to the night than the ponies a millennium ago did (or Luna will merely think so). Eventually, this will get bad enough to the point where Luna says, basically, "You all still hate me? You all still think my beautiful night is not important? Fine, then! Since you think my night is worthless and unnecessary, let's see how the world does without any night at all!" She then goes on to not only refuse to raise the moon, but also to somehow stop Celestia from being able to raise the moon or lower the sun. The result? 24-hour daytime and sunlight. Soon (days? weeks?) the resulting problems wreak havoc with everyone and everything - ponies' sleep cycles are disturbed, and thus they don't get the sleep they need; temperatures climb to constant, very uncomfortable or even dangerous levels without the night to cool the land and air; weather goes out of whack as a result of the temperature fluctuations (assuming that Equestria's weather and wind-cycles works in any way like Earth's); animals, unable to sleep at all, start dying in droves from exhaustion and severe sleep deprivation; eventually, droughts and/or famines might kick in. Eventually, the ponies realize just how vital the night is, and how they screwed themselves over by taking it for granted and ignoring it, as well as realizing that antagonizing a living goddess who control the day/night cycle is a bad idea no matter how it ends up. This leads to the ponies of the world begging Luna for forgiveness and to bring back the night before mass deaths start.

This could end in several ways. Luna could accept the ponies' apologies and return the night to existence, with everyone in the world having learned a very vital lesson. Or she could reject their apologies and refuse to return the night; if this happens, the Mane Six could end up having to convince her to do it... or, failing that, having to fight her and force the return of the night.

And if Luna wins, it's The End of the World as We Know It

[2]

There will be an episode about Celestia and Luna

In it there will be some exploration of her character, i.e. how, like Twilight, she never really had many friends due to her position of power. Before Luna reformed her Phoenix and student Twilight were the only people close to her and even then it was a teacher/student bond. Maybe even give rise to a new threat like the eleents of discord theories or the smooze theories.

Celestia will disguise herself as a normal Earth pony.

  • ...So she can go around all day without being treated differently. It will go smoothly at first, but something will go wrong with the spell, making it so she can't change back to her true form at will. For extra drama, it will happen when Equestria needs her most, causing the Mane Six to save her.

There will be a Beatles episode, like another Lauren Faust show

  • In which the Mane Cast and Pipsqueak visit Liverpool [3] and run into No Celebrities Were Harmed pony versions of The Beatles themselves.
    • Could work as the musical episode theorized elsewhere...which would be awesome as all hell if the songs were Beatles parodies.

At some point, Twilight will clone herself.

Unfortunately, either the intelligence would be divided between the clones (resulting in either a Twilight that doesn't know what the other halves know, or the Twilights being progressively simple-minded), or they each represent a personality trait of Twilight's, one or two not wanting to go back to Twilight.

There will be a Very Special Episode at some point.

Don't know what it would be about, though.

There is a future episode with a flashback that will have a filly Derpy.

The animators decided to sneak the filly!Derpy model in "The Cutie Pox" as a teaser.

One or more episodes will be released on DVD before they air on The Hub.

Perhaps as one of the five episodes on Shout Factory's upcoming DVD The Friendship Express.

  • Possibly confirmed. The DVD includes an episode titled "The Last Roundup", but it may be aired before the DVD comes out.

There will be an episode focusing on Scootaloo.

Sweetie Belle and Applebloom have both had episodes this season with them as the central characters, it's only natural Scootaloo will follow suit.

  • The next episode is about Rainbow Dash hosting a flying race to see who will be her pet. Would it be surprising if Scootaloo decided to compete?
    • That's Jossed, but there could still be a Scootaloo-centric episode in the future.
    • If you take Cutie Pox as an Apple Bloom episode and Sisterhooves Social as a Sweetie Belle episode, then it would seem Scootaloo is due for a centric episode.
  • There will be an episode featuring a lot of Scootaloo, but whether it'll actually focus on her remains to be seen.
  • Maybe there could be an episode where Scootaloo is trying to learn how to fly after seeing other ponies her age flying. The moral could be that you can rush into things and you need practice.
    • If she starts too far and tries to fly off a cliff, the moral might be that if you're not careful, you will die.

At some point down the line, several fan-favorite background ponies will be featured in a Lower Deck Episode

And it will be the ultimate love letter to the bronies.

Discord will return, and attempt to find other ways to remove the Elements of Harmony or their bearers.

Only this time, he's going to try not to underestimate the Ponies this time. How he'll try to remove the elements or their bearers is up for speculation.

The next villain will be immune to the Elements of Harmony

And the mane cast will have to figure out an alternative way to stop them.

  • And maybe they'll have to actually fight hoof-to-hoof and/or with combat/elemental[4] magic.
    • That would be an interesting twist. Maybe they go through Training from Hell just to make sure their friends don't get obliterated.
  • Or the villain will be Out-Gambitted and dead forever.
  • Applejack, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash aren't holding up their ends of the Elements, thanks to an extremely massive argument, but when the Cutie Mark Crusaders are threatened, their bonds are reaffirmed and they use the elements to swiftly put that jerk back in his/her place.

Queen Chrysalis will return incredibly lovesick.

Her system was overloaded and she falls in love with either:

There will be an episode showing that the mane six's virtues (honesty, loyalty, etc.) can be harmful if taken to extremes.

  • Honesty: If you tell the whole truth all of the time and never hide anything from anyone, you become brutally honest and can't be trusted with sensitive information.
  • Loyalty: If you support someone in everything they do and never disagree with them (even if it would be to their detriment), you become a Yes Mare.
  • Kindness: If you always try to help everyone with everything they do 24/7 (even if your help is unwanted), you become a nuisance.
  • Laughter: If you constantly try to get people to have fun, they'll eventually get bored and your efforts will just come off as annoying and selfish (In other words, this is what Pinkie feared had happened in Party of One).
  • Generosity: If you give away too many things too freely, you'll end up causing waste and spoiling people. Also, you might be compelled to give away something that isn't yours to give.
  • Magic: If you rely to heavily on magic and stop believing in the rest of the world, you become ignorant.

There will eventually be villans who try to tap into the Elements of Harmony by using the corresponding virtues excessively, as detailed in the previous WMG.

And it'll work. Sort of. The first five elements will behave erratically and destructively from being wielded in that fashion, and since their powers aren't being used to foster friendship, the element of magic will refuse to function.

There will be another episode set during winter, or at least featuring snow.

A Hasbro Entertainment and Licensing video features a one-second clip of Fluttershy running through snowy Ponyville while flapping her wings, and Hasbro's Card Creator game features images of the ponies wearing winter outfits that they haven't yet worn in the show.

We get to see the deific counterparts for other races

As Celestia and Luna represent ponykind, we'll see the gods for the dragons, gryphons, buffalo, cows, sheep, etc.

There will be an episode where it is learned that Princess Celestia doesn't have the 100% Adoration Rating she was originally thought to have.

A new pony will visit Ponyville and meet the mane cast. Everything turns out good at first, but during Pinkie Pie's welcoming party for him/her, he/she will have something critical to say about Princess Celestia during casual conversation. All other Ponyville ponies will call this pony out on it and accuse him/her of treason. The issue becomes so overblown that it gets Princess Celestia's attention. But Celestia finds the new pony's criticism to be valid, and uses it to solve the problem he/she brings up. The lesson? Some criticism is constructive criticism. Also, you should never overreact towards someone just because they gave a bad review towards something you love.

The Windigos weren't permanently defeated and are still active and feeding off of the negative emotions of the ponies. They just got more subtle about it.

The story in Hearths Warming Eve is the legend as it was known at the time, the truth is that the Windigos were defeated but not killed. They persist, subtly feeding on the negative emotions of ponies and trying to spread misery. After their first defeat they brought discord to Equestria to cause chaos and misery so they could continue their feast. When he was defeated, they used Luna's jealousy to corrupt her. It was their influence that helped release her, using her power to blot out the sun to cause an ice age deeper and colder than anything their blizzards could. The used the CMC's negative emotions to release discord. Member of the mane six goes crazy? Windigos trying to corrupt them to weaken the elements of harmony. The Windigos are the big bad, manipulative bastards, using The Corruption to trick people into bringing about The End of the World as We Know It. And even Celestia has no idea they are doing it.

Gilda will return.

And will be hell-bent on revenge, and trying to kill and eat Pinkie Pie. (Hey, griffons ARE supposed to eat horses, after all.) It will end with Fluttershy defeating Gilda, as revenge for making her cry in the episode before.

There will be an episode where one member of the CMC gets their cutie mark first.

One member of the CMC will get her cutie mark before the others. Or maybe two of them will get their mark around the same time, with one still having a "blank flank". This will lead to whichever filly is left out feeling like they don't have as much to do with their friends anymore. But by the end of the episode, they'll learn that just because a friend changes, doesn't mean they have to stop being friends.

  • My bet's on Scootaloo, since she has a probably special talent (scooter riding).
  • The one(s) with their cutie marks will still be accepted as friends, but kicked out of the organization with an already made medal of success.

There will be a CMC episode with a filly beauty pageant.

Sweetie Belle will be the contestant with the assistance of her friends and Rarity, while Tiara will be her rival. Also the pageant will be less Squicky than actual child pageants (see Little Miss Sunshine). If there is a talent portion, it could very well be the episode in which S.B. gets over her stage fright and gets her cutie mark showing her talent as a singer.

Angel Bunny will stop running.

Fluttershy has certainly seen animals die before, but she's really close to Angel. She will be devastated, especially if she feels there's something she should have noticed but didn't.

  • Plus bunnies have especially short lifetimes.

A Very Special Episode will involve the Mane Six getting pregnant.

From them eating some kind of fertility berry to make it more kid-friendly. It will probably have a Shout-Out to Juno, where each of them are trying to find a home for their soon-to-be born fillies. Each of them will also have their own problems with the pregnancy as well.

  • Twilight will have a hard time reading.
  • Pinkie Pie will be unable to eat sweets without puking.
  • Rainbow Dash will have a hard time flying.
  • Applejack will have a hard time working.
  • Rarity will freak out about not looking beautiful if she's huge.
  • Fluttershy... I can't think of one for Fluttershy. At the end, they decide to keep the fillies. And this will be the finale of Season 3, just in case (JUST IN CASE) it keeps going.
    • If your theory does happen (which I doubt they could get away with something like that, considering the characters have the maturity of someone in their late teens, but you never know) Fluttershy's concern could be that she might not be able to properly care for a filly, or that caring for the filly would get in the way of her caring for animals.
      • Alternatively, Fluttershy could be the only one of the mane six who's well-prepared to raise a foal, and thus be a foil to the other five.
    • I actually have an idea that could make this work even more. A fair is held at Ponyville with booths available to anyone who has something to sell. An unassuming pony (species doesn't matter for this) is running a booth that sells fruit drinks. Twilight and her friends go over and introduce themselves. Thrilled to meet the Bearers of the Elements of Harmony, the pony offers them each a sample of his "Harmony Swirls", special drinks that each reflect one of the Bearers of the Elements of Harmony which have names like Rarity's Berry Blush, Rainbow Dash's Color Quencher, Applejack's Sweet Reward, Pinkie Pie's Sugar Surprise, Fluttershy's Forest Blender and Twilight's Sky Dream (or...something like that). They all accept the drinks and think there's nothing to worry about. However later the Mane Cast discovers that the drinks had the aforementioned fertility berry in them and now they're expecting foals (I say foals because it would be interesting if one of the Mane Cast had a son). The problems above crop up though they do end up keeping the foals. However later the "pony" who sold them the drinks reappears and reveals himself to be some sort of villain (not a pony; just a shape-shifter pretending to be one) and reveals that the sweet foals the Mane Cast has been tending are part of his master plan to destroy Equestria. Horrified the Mane Cast pleads to be allowed a chance to save the foals. Out of cockiness, the villain agrees and gives them a riddle to solve (my theory is on something like "To give these foals a brand new start, find the truths of one loved one's heart) with the stakes of if they solve the riddle in the time limit (if it's long enough, this could actually be a multi-parter or even a movie), the foals will be free but if any of the Mane Cast fail, their foal (s) will belong to him. With no other choice, they agree but go to Celestia for help. She explains about the villain and offers to cover for them at the various workplaces until the riddle is solved. Luna then appears and gives them a special charm that shows them where they need to go to solve each pony's riddle contribution.
      • Damn, why the hell didn't I think of that?

There will be an episode with an anti-racism type message.

Possibly in the form of a pony or group of ponies being mean to Spike for being a dragon. One member of the mane cast will go along with it because they want to fit in with or impress the group of ponies for some reason (if they want it to be extra crushing, it would be Rarity) but she'll learn her lesson by the end. The letter to Celestia will say that you should never let ANYONE be mean to your friends and that it's wrong to discriminate against others for things they can't control, like being a dragon.

There will be an episode where the Mane Cast are transformed into some other species.

Might be intentional, might not be. It would just be interesting to see the Mane Cast as griffons or dragons.

There will be a Fantastic Voyage Plot.

Why? Because every cartoon has a Fantastic Voyage parody!

  • Even better, the Mane Cast's talents would play into it:
    • Twilight probably knows some shrinking spells.
    • Rarity would design the ship. ("Isn't our little submarine just marvelous? It can deal with any microscopic ruffian we encounter!")
    • Fluttershy's medical skills make her a shoo-in for the navigator/pilot.
    • Rainbow and Applejack would be the resident Action Girls, complete with a fight scene involving white blood cells.
    • And above all, the whole thing would be Pinkie's idea. Because only Pinkie could dream something like this up.

There will be a Road To episode with Pinkie and Rarity

The combination, coming off the end of "The Last Roundup", fits the Hope/Crosby pairing to a tee, along with characters with great singing voices. It is not that this will immediately follow "The Last Roundup" with the two on a hoofcart, but some situation to strand them together to get back to Ponyville or Canterlot will be used.

One of the Mane Six (I haven't figured out which one) will get tired of her cutie mark.

She undergoes an expensive operation to change it. The lesson will be to be proud of what makes you special.

The Apple family will go to another town to visit an ailing relative...

...and will find Flim or Flam hospitalized; a mark had turned violent on realizing s/he was swindled. The aesop will be about mercy.

Time Travel will be involved at some point down the road.

With one group trapped in the past, the other trapped in the future.

Spike will run away again

Spike is always willing to help out Twilight with in the library, or Rarity find gems. But he never seemed to get appreciated much for all the hard work he did. He didn't mind at first. He liked feeling useful. However, Twilight constantly has him do a large amount of work for her at the library, and leaves him there, while SHE goes out with her friends to have fun. They never seemed to invite much to anything, so he spent his days alone at the library. This will cause Spike to finally snap. He will get into a argument with all of them, about how he was never invited to either Gummy or Twilight's birthday, nearly drowned at the end of Winter Wrap Up, after the piece of ice he fell asleep on melting ice (no one helped him, they just let it melt)and they all just laughed at him, or how they abandoned him at the Gala when all he wanted to do was be with all of them. They will all be saddened by at what he said, but despite them trying to apologize, he ends his friendship with them all, and leaves them all in a shocked stance. After snapping out of it, they all wait for him to come back, thinking he hopefully left to just blow off some steam. But he doesn't come back. So after everyone in Ponyville looks for him, and all fail to find the baby dragon, Twilight and the others have no choice but to tell Princess Celestia that Spike's missing and it's their fault. Celestia sends out guards all over Equestria to find him, and Twilight tearfully tells Celestia her regrets about the way she treated Spike. Celestia calmly tells Twilight that if she and the others truly regrets what they did, they have to be there for Spike, especially during this time. A guard immediately bursts in telling the Princess and the others that some ponies reported seeing a baby dragon in a forest located in a distant area of Equestria.

Meanwhile, Spike has been going on his own misadventures, trying to find a new home. He meets some friendly ponies on his trip, but can't help but feel regret for what he did to everyone back in Ponyville. He keeps moving on, with a smile (though a fake one), and after nearly being starved to death, and filthy, he finds a cave to settle in, and starts to wish he never did what he did. Just then, Twilight and the others appear, and try to talk to him. He is reluctant at first, but eventually starts to speak more, saying how he always felt alone and friendless back at the library, while they spent a lot fun times on their adventures. He apologizes for what he said earlier, and is about to leave, when Twilight tearfully hugs him. The others start to join in, and apologize, admitting that what he said was true, and how they never intended to hurt him, but will do better to treat him as their friend. He falls asleep on the trip back to Ponyville, and realizes the next morning that he slept in too late. He rushes downstairs to help Twilight when... SURPRISE!! Everyone he knows has thrown him a party to show their appreciation for him. They all plan to do many things with him. And says that it won't just last one day, but they'll do all kinds of fun things everyday.

Twilight and the others will learn a lesson about never making your friends feel left out and to never neglect them. It will not only hurt them, but it can hurt you and other friends as well as destroy the friendship that you have. Always make sure that you show them the same love you show for your other friends as well and make them feel appreciated and accepted.

A Season 3 episode will focus on Pinkie Pie learning how to plan a foal shower that Princess Cadance would enjoy.

And the writers will Show Their Work on equine pregnancy.

A possible idea if Discord does return...

He has lost a lot of his powers while being stoned, so he assembles an army of previous villains who each want revenge on each of the Mane Six.

  • Twilight - Trixie
  • Pinkie Pie - The Companion Cube squad from Party of One (who were alive all along and were controlling Pinkie then)
  • Rainbow Dash - Gilda (who also wants revenge on Pinkie, but mostly Rainbow for abandoning her)
  • Applejack - Flim Flam Brothers
  • Fluttershy - Cockatrice and/or Iron Will
  • Rarity - Diamond Dogs and/or Prince Blueblood
  • At the end, the villains get tired of working for Discord, and end up helping the Mane Six defeat him again.
    • I like the idea that Discord summons their so-called evil counterparts, makes some dramatic speech, only for the counterparts to be wondering what the heck is going on because they were poofed over there without consultation, and they reject Discord's offer on the basis that they don't live their lives obsessing over the Mane Cast.
  • Preferably as a two parter. The first could end with a cliffhanger featuring the villains 'defeating' the main six. Thus, the second episode could begin with a different opening, sung by Discord and his gang and ending with the show being titled "My Little Pony, Chaos is Awesome" or something along those lines.

There will be a Season 3 episode that will be about Spike looking for his parents

  • The Mane cast's parents will come for a sort of parents day celebration, and spike will feel bit left out of the party. When they all leave for a while, spike writes a letter to the princess asking where his egg came from. Which will result in the princess coming to the library, in person, to tell spike, that she had found his egg, and had no idea where his parents were. She simply used her magic to keep the baby inside the egg alive, and wait to use him as a part of the entrance exam for Twilight. This will cause Spike to go out, and look for clues on where his parents are. The girls will refuse to go, and try and convince Spike not to go too, by saying that it's dangerous, and he might find out the truth about his parents, and the truth may not be pleasant. He will still be determined to find them, despite the consequences it may bring. But the girls will try to track him down. And there will be enemies waiting for them, at every corner.
    • In one possible ending, It will turn out that Spike's parents were killed a long time ago, back when ponies hunted and killed dragons for sport. Celestia found spike's egg alone, after his parents were killed, and took care of him. Keeping his egg in stasis, for many, many years, until Twilight hatched him. This will result in him having a Heroic BSOD, but Twilight and the others comfort him, saying that they will always be a family to him.
    • Another ending could be that Spike successfully finds his parents. They aren't mean or nasty like the girls would've thought, but actually kind and caring. And they will all find out that a group of ponies had once came to their cave trying to steal their hoard of gems. They accidentally took Spike's egg by mistake, but during their escape, they accidentally dropped the egg, leaving it behind for Celestia to find. Twilight feels upset that her number one assistant and brother might actually leave her. But his parents, not wanting him to choose between them or his friends, decide to move to the cave that the red dragon lived in in DragonShy, so they can always watch over him
    • Considering the title of his next episode, "The Great Dragon Migration" may be a Shout-Out to the tenth Land Before Time film, and the plot has him join the migration to find himself, it's possible. After all, Littlefoot did find his father in that film, so its possible.
      • This episode would serve as a sequel to the "Dragon Quest" episode, in which it would answer all of Spike's questions. The letter that Celestia sent to Spike, while he was with the other dragons, will be brought up again, and play a role in the story as well.

There will be an episode about Bronies

There will be a new TV show or something that is primarily aimed at young fillies, however each of the mane six and Spike soon find themselves enjoying the show immensely, but none of them want the others to know about it for their own reasons. By the end of the episode, each will reveal their enjoyment of the show and the moral will be that you shouldn't be ashamed of something you like and that true friends won't care about what you like either. Bonus points if the reason Applejack comes out is because she finds out Big Macintosh openly enjoys it and doesn't care what others think.

There will be an episode where the characters play a game akin to D&D.

Where the Ponies all play their own characters, with Twilight as the Game Master. The episode would have Twilight trying to tell a good story, but the others keep making it go off the rails, causing Twilight to get a little forceful with putting them on track with the story.

There will be another Daring Do episode.

There will be an April Fools' Day-esque holiday episode at some point

Maybe involving a war of pranks between Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash. Bonus points if it references Discord.

There will be an episode about standing up to bullies.

One of the characters (Fluttershy, maybe? Or perhaps even Spike) will find themselves the victim of a bully or group of bullies who taunt them every day. The friends will step up and tell the bullies to back down, with the moral that friends stand up to each other.

Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon will be the next big bads of the series.

Celestia comes down to visit Ponyville, but accidentally drops this special gemstone that gives her her magic powers. Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon find it, and Tiara puts it on as a necklace. Suddenly, she gains all the powers that Celestia had, and decides to use these powers for evil. After giving these powers to Spoon, the two usurp Celestia and Luna, and become the new rulers. They also take away all the pony's cutie marks, along with the talents they represent. The ponies end up with cutie mark failure insanity symdrome, and all go crazy, including the mane six. At first it looks like the two have won, but then the Cutie Mark Crusaders step in. Being pretty much the only ones without cutie marks, they ends up being the Only Sane Ponies. Diamond Tiara laughs at the idea of two mere fillies defeating her, and blasts a huge ball of fire at the trio. Suddenly, Sweetie Belle manages to master her magic, and blocks the fire away. Tiara then gets angry, and uses more magic to knock the three off a cliff. Immediately, though, Scootaloo masters her ability to fly, and carries her two friends back up. Apple Bloom ends up in a huge fight with Tiara, and ends up knocking the necklace off. All of Tiara's powers suddenly wear off, and everything goes back to normal, including the ponies getting their cutie marks back. The CMC get their cutie mark, Celestia gets her gemstone, and her kingdom, back, and Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon are sent to Celestia's prison. Ok, so a lot of fans would get mad that the CMC stole the mane six's title for heroes of the series, but at least they would get a cutie mark.

  • The CMC could use the Fires of Friendship, that requires 3 ponies

There will be an episode about Speciesism

Seeing as Spike is the only dragon living among ponies, there will be some ponies feeling uncomfortable about the idea of a dragon living in a town full of ponies, especially since his Greed-growth can be used by the ponies as ammunition against him. It only proves to them that he can be huge and vicious. And so, they'll try to make him leave, saying that there are many dragons who migrate and live together, and he should be with his own kind. He will try to ignore them, and not tell any of his friends about what's happening, deeming his situation as "something they shouldn't worry about". However, as more and more ponies start to protest against him being there, the girls will find out about what's going on, and try to keep their friend safe. The lesson will either be "don't be afraid to tell your friends about your problems, because they'll always be there to help you", or "just because someone is different, doesn't make them a bad person (or... pony)".

As the US presidential election draws near, there will be an episode about respecting those who disagree with you.

There will be some issue that divides Ponyville, and even the Mane Six will find themselves on opposite sides. Many on each side will consider the others' stance a Moral Event Horizon, until something makes it clear you must respect those who disagree and not automatically attribute to them stupidity and/nor every abominable motive that strikes your fancy.

Twilight's 'Failsafe' spell will come back to haunt everyone.

When she used the spell at the beginning of The Return Of Harmony, she had literally just read it out of the book before casting it. Now in this Tropers mind, a thing like a failsafe spell would probably require a control or template to base itself off of. So, what if Twilight's first casting accidentally set Discord's chaos filled world as that template? Then, in a future episode, a house burns down or something and Twilight walks up to say "Don't worry everypony I have a spell that'll change this back to way it was!"...

Rainbow Dash will have a friends-vs-society episode when she is accepted into the Wonderbolts.

In the end, she will keep her friends and be a Wonderbolt.

There will be an episode where Twilight is committed to Ponyville Hospital's mental ward.

In "Read It and Weep", it was implied that Ponyville has a mental facility somewhere within its hospital, if the super tight security for stealing someone's slippers and the appearance of Loose Screw is anything to go by. In "Lesson Zero", Twilight went insane trying to find a friendship problem to please Celestia, and in "It's About Time", she was willing to stop time for her own means. Rather than suffering from Cutie Mark Failure Insanity Syndrome, Twilight is mentally unstable all on her own, especially concerning time. Thus, she will be considered a danger to everypony and put in a mental ward for an episode.

  • And for the rest of the series, she'll be laid-back to the point where she doesn't care what the outcome is anymore.

Scootaloo will become a big sister

Following a WMG in the Secondary Character's section. Rather than be a younger sibling like Applebloom and Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo will instead gain a younger sibling (if she doesn't have one already). However, in an inversion of the usual trope that follows this plotline (i.e. Scootaloo getting jealous of the attention the new baby gets), she'll become smothered because her parents, aware of the above trope, put in extra effort to give her more attention than she usually receives.

Screwball will show up again in Season 3

She'll be connected in some way to Discord, perhaps even his daughter as depicted in Fanon. She could even be the villain of Season 3's opening two-parter.

There will be an episode centered around another Draconequi

And he/she will be a good guy, but his species is demonized thanks to Discord (who even they consider a monster), so he has to try and get past that. The moral will be not to judge somepony based on what or who they are, but on them.

There will be a Scootaloo episode...

And it will revolve around her inability to fly. She'll see other colts and fillies flying, including very young ones like Pound Cake, and wonder why she has such a hard time flying. In the end, she'll learn that some ponies are late bloomers.

    • That is, if she manages to fly in the end. If she doesn't, she'll probably replace her wings with jets. The jets will eventually fail and she'll learn that it's better to do things the natural way.
  • Or maybe an episode about: When Rainbow blows off Scootaloo too many times for trivial things instead of helping her fly, it makes her upset and denounces Dash as an idol. Rainbow thinks nothing of it at first, but when she discovers her former fan is learning from three old bullies of hers', she feels regretful for hurting her friend. Can Rainbow find a way to win her friend back?~ episode idea by HT Ffan-101

Evil Versus Evil - Emotion Eaters Face Off!

With the revelation that the Changelings feed off The Power of Love, what better enemy for them to face than beings that feed off The Power of Hate, the Windigos? Such a conflict might even result in a Heel Face Turn for the Changelings (or at least some of them), siding with the ponies of Equestria in fending off those who would destroy them all.

There will be an Aesop about Forgiveness.

Now I'm aware that the theme of forgiveness is sprinkled in here and there in many episode but not as the main theme. There should be an episode about the dangers of holding a grudge and/or the Vicious Cycle of Revenge.

  • Original poster here, bonus points are given if not only they do an episode of Forgiveness but reveals to be Princess Luna's past. Or it can be Gilda, Trixie, and the other jerks who teamed up against the revenge on Mane Six. Only to show to see the causing the end of their world or becoming the ones they became.
    • Another version can give a Freudian Excuse on WHY he/she isn't willing to forgive or accept forgiveness, that when he/she were young he/she DID forgiven/accepted their apologies but only only for the offenders to continue. This can result a Shut Up, Kirk speech, asking the Mane Cast how he/she can forgive their offenders if the said offenders are going to do it again and again?

Discord and Queen Chrysalis will form an Evil Duo in Season 3.

Think about it; Discord thrives on the The Power of Hate while Queen Chrysalis and her army of Changelings feed on The Power of Love. Combining these two would be like putting butter on bread!

Discord will return, and the Mane Cast form an Enemy Mine with Queen Chrysalis against him

They point out that Discord loves breaking the bonds between ponies, and with no bonds to produce love for the Changelings to feed off of, they'll suffer as much as the ponies will. Optional: At the end, the Mane Cast will end up defeating them both at once with the Elements.

Or, vice versa; Queen Chrysalis will return, and the Mane Cast form an Enemy Mine with Discord against her

They point out that while at first the Changlings are make chaos but once they fully take the control things will be more stagnent then normal. Optional: At the end, the Mane Cast will end up defeating them both at once with the Elements.

Or a new threat will show up and the Mane Cast form an Enemy Mine with Queen Chrysalis and Discord against it

The changelings will turn Luna back into Nightmare Moon.

Without Shining Armor's love, the Queen doesn't have the power to face off against even one of the the ruling sisters anymore, so bringing back Nightmare Moon would remove an obstacle while gaining an ally, that isn't as dangerous to all sides as Discord. Of course Nightmare Moon doesn't seem the follower type, so there will be plenty of villain infighting.

Or vice versa; Luna will try to reason with the changelings.

There will be an episode focusing on Zecora's backstory.

It will involve:

  • Several tearjerkers, maybe even including exile.
  • An elaboration on zebra society, which will be mondern with a tribal ancestry.
  • Her home will be based on sub-Sahara Africa, mabye South Africa.
  • We will found out that the Witch Doctor is a traditional position.
  • She has mastered medicine, maybe even an actual doctor who has a speciality in herbs, plants or chemistry.
  • And she toke up english literature or poetry as a hobby, Which explains her use of rhymes.
  • And she'll have a niece voiced by Cree Summer

Beach Episode!

Of course, the writers won't have the heart to show off the Mane Six in a Fan Service-y way, especially as that squicks out some male fans. It won't be any good vs evil type thing, just a Slice of Life where the Mane Six go on a vacation.

  • I don't see what's so wrong with swimsuits, given that ponies don't usually wear clothes, period.

There will be an episode showing that Ponies are Bastards.

A villain will try to break the spirit of all of Equestria showing how ponies are actually worse than what everypony (and what the fans) think. The Mane Six may respond with a Patrick Stewart Speech saying that Ponies are Flawed but not evil.

  • Didn't we already get the first half of this with Putting Your Hoof Down?

Rather than stating Ponies Are Bastards, they should give out Rousseau Was Right

To add the WMG above, the said villain could do a "Social Experiment" similar to The Joker in The Dark Knight to the ponies in "Putting Your Hoof Down" maybe Jerkasses but they're not total sociopaths, and show their Freudian Excuse on why they act that way. And everypony is really good at heart, except the villains. Or perhaps even the said Villain had a reason, without evil. The universe will suffer from entropy and wipe out from existence.

The Season 3 premiere will be a Shout-Out to the Secret Invasion

With the Changelings taking place of the Skrull.

Star Swirl the Bearded will appear...from out of the time warp he vanished into thousands of years ago.

Since he's been mentioned 3 times and the last time involved his invention of Time Travel. He smashes right into Twilight Sparkle. Naturally, he'll think that unicorns are the master race and that Applejack and Pinkie are Twilight's slaves since Unicorns have a duty to guide the "lesser races". When introduced to the concept of alicorns,he'll have some kind of breakdown-which will get worse when he meets the Cakes. The lesson of the episode is about racism. Also,he won't be an old man(pony?).He'll be young enough to function as a love interest.

The ponies will visit Griffonville.

Or wherever the griffons live. Gilda and Gustave Le Grande will be seen as background characters.

Tara Strong said at a recent convention that there is one episode of Season 3 that bronies will go absolutely crazy over.

See the question and answer here. Make guesses as to what might happen in that episode.

  • A Derpy Hooves episode
  • Discord's return
  • The return of Trixie
  • A genderbent episode
  • Twilight Sparkle getting put on a bus (What? "Go absolutely crazy over" doesn't necessarily mean it's good news.)
  • Twilight Sparkle turning evil Nightmare Moon-style (Come on! We've seen Twilight Sparkle go pretty insane twice in Season 2. Who wouldn't want to see her go COMPLETELY insane and try to destroy Equestria!?)
  • An episode about the Brony phenomenon
  • Remember back during Season 1 when "Weird Al" Yankovic recognized the show, and pony versions of him were drawn by fans? It took two seasons to become canon, but here he comes!

Princess Cadance will get pregnant

The plot will revolve around Shining's feelings about becoming a father and Twilight's feelings about becoming an aunt.

  • Shining Armor may fear that he might not be able to see his future child very often due to his duties as Captain of the Royal Guard.
  • Shining Armor and Princess Cadance might take babysitting lessons from Pinkie Pie in preparation.
  • It may be revealed in the end that Princess Cadance isn't really pregnant thus bringing either relief or disappointment to the married couple.

Twilight Sparkle will become evil in one or more Season 3 episode(s)

We've seen Twilight Sparkle go pretty insane in two Season 2 episodes. But most would agree that both times she went insane were hilarious. But, what would happen if she were to lose all hope in Equestria and/or herself, go completely insane and transform into an Omnicidal Maniac ala Nightmare Moon!? How will the Mane 6 (or Mane 5 excluding Twilight) be able to save Equestria as well as their bestest friend from herself!?

A future Discord appearance will have him take the opposite approach to Corrupting the Elements of Harmony

  • Rather than try to destroy what made them worthy to bear the elements, Discord will reinforce their Elements to their Logical Extreme...
    • Applejack: Will exhibit Brutal Honesty, to the offense and sadness of those around her. The closest she'll be able to get telling a white lie is to focus on insignificant good sides of things.
    • Rarity: Will take her generosity to utterly ascetic levels by giving up practically everything she owns and even starving herself by passing any meals she's about to eat to the first bemused mare to walk past her.
    • Fluttershy: Will take her Extreme Doormat tendencies Up to Eleven out of "kindness" to increasingly undeserving people around her.
      • So basically, will do nothing with Fluttershy.
    • Rainbow Dash: Her loyalty will be cranked up to the point where she becomes a submissive Yes Mare to her friends, Twilight especially, even if she sees any obvious flaws in any plans or ideas anyone close to her will have, and will become extremely aggressive to anyone who questions their decision making, no matter how legitimate those questions may be (resulting in conflicts with Applejack due to the above).
    • Pinkie Pie: Will become a somewhat more benign Stepford Smiler. She'll laugh 24/7 regardless of whether she finds anything funny.
    • Twilight Sparkle: Will rely solely on magic, possibly to the point where she dismisses science itself.

Discord will turn out to have an opposite number

  • Possibly a brother who is an Order obsessed control freak. Like Discord, he'll be an expy of a villain with a similar mindset with a desire to put everyone under a spell of mindless, synchronized, conformity and be voiced accordingly. Potential Enemy Mine ensues.
    • Or the opposite number will be a huge group of imperialistic individuals who want everybody to be like them, whether they want to or not. In essence, they will be the Borg to Discord's Q, and will be a large group of beings of average strength that are mainly scary because of numbers and strength from a shared purpose, contrasting against Discord, who is a super-powerful individual who manages to be horrifying, despite his lack of companions.

Twilight Sparkle will end up in the same predicament she started in, except worse.

Pinkie Pie mentioned that losing a friend's trust is the best way to lose a friend forever. In the Season 2 finale, it is implied that Twilight lost the trust of all her friends, including the princesses. There is some serious foreshadowing here.

There will be A Day in the Limelight episode for Celestia

Seeing as how everyone's image of Celestia has been tainted by her losing rather easily to Chrysalis, the writers will give her an episode that proves that she is the most powerful pony in the world. It won't be unlike some Superman stories, showing her as a Showy Invincible Hero that is far from boring.

Spike, feeling unappreciated, quits as Twilight's assistant and begins working for another pony

Spike becomes frustrated that Twilight doesn't show him appreciation, so he decided to quit working for her and moves in with another pony (it could be one of the other mane 6, a recurring character, or someone completely new). Twilight initially brushes it off, thinking Spike would come back after he cools down, but to her horror Spike actually enjoys spending time with his new best friend and decided to never come back. Can Twilight win her former number 1 assistant back?

The series finale will involve the return of Nightmare Moon.

Just for the sake of Book Ends.

Discord will return, but will be stripped of his powers by the Princesses or others of his species...

And unable to regain them until he learns the meaning of true friendship. He will be sent to Ponyville to learn from Twilight, and will encounter a grumpy balding captain (played by Patrick Stewart) who he has fun annoying but who he eventually decides is "the closest thing he has to a friend" and then some of Discord's old victims attack Ponyville and Discord decides to surrender to them in order to save everypony else and this gets him his powers back. And there will be a marachi band.

In case you have not watched Star Trek, this plot is lifted straight from there.

  • To make this better, there will be a diamond dog or a changeling who will ask Discord to prove his newfound mortality by dying.

The Cutie Mark Crusaders will learn a swear word.

It's happened in other cartoons, so why not? [5]

Crossovers

There will be a a crossover with My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic, the original My Little Pony series and My Little Pony Tales

  • ALL OF MY MONEY FOR A MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS FOREVER!
  • Do not forget about G3 and G2.[6] I would like to see Rainbow Dash the 1st and Rarity the 2nd interacting. Tales is the only series that I cannot think of way to canon weld with the other continuities. Hasbro does not have the copyrights to certain G1 characters anymore, but it could still happen.
  • Alternatively, the G3 ponies could be villains, as a Take That to the Periphery Hatedom the previous generations get from bronies.

The series 2 villains will include Blackarachnia and Waspinator.

The Transformers Animated art style would go well with that of MLP:FIM, and since TFA ended prematurely, there are a whole lot of unresolved plot threads. Plus, it would allow Hasbro to reuse moulds they've already made.

Blackarachnia and Waspinator would fit well as villains. Both were spurned by their comrades due to events beyond their control. Blackarachnia is hated by the other Transformers because of her organic components, and Waspinator was imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit. Learning about comradeship again would fit well with the friendship them of My Little Pony.

  • If not as a crossover, then a quick appearance as a regular (oversized) spider and wasp with the same voice actors.
  • If I may combine this with the above WMG about Weird Al voicing a character: I AM WRECK-GAR! I AM A BRONY!

The next big villain will be named Alicron.

And he will be gigantic.

Twilight Sparkle gets stuck in a "Twilight" spoof episode.

She'll be harassed by a (very shiny) unicorn named Night Glider, who wants to do EVERYTHING with Twilight. The other five Ponies don't like him AT ALL. Initially, Twilight thinks they're just jealous, but soon finds out Night Glider was very literal with the phrase "be by your side forever". Eventually, he is booted out of Ponyville by the Mane cast (possibly by using the elements of Harmony again) and everyone learns a lesson in "friends look out for each other's best interests."

  • For some weird reason, I actually want to see this...
  • Throw in a jealous hippogrif named Blackmane, Pinkie Pie and Rarity recruiting for Team Blackmane and Team Night Glider, and you got a PARTY.

Other

Should they make a Second Season for the series...

  • 24/03/2011 - Greenlit for another series of 26 episodes ^^
  • There will be at least one episode centering around a male pony/ponies. While some ponies will resist and one (maybe Rarity) will dress up for him, but the ponies learn he's a person, too. The aesop will of course be that "boys and girls can be friends."
    • If there is a "stallions and colts are ponies too" episode, it would more likely be centered around the school-age foals like the Cutie Mark Crusaders, as children are the ones that more often tend to be sexist. Considering they're the only colts in the series, if they do have such an episode, it would probably be one to shed some sympathetic light on Snips and Snails. When the events of the episode lead to their humiliation, it seems like no one really cares all that much; I mean, they're just the comic relief guys. But when along comes the Did You Think I Can't Feel? scene...
  • Trixie will join the crew as the Sixth Ranger.
    • Many fans like Trixie because of her various bad attributes. Remove them and she's no longer the Trixie we know and like. Keep them and other fans will complain why the Mane Cast is hanging around with somepony who's always insulting them.
  • Alternately, Derpy Hooves. In case she becomes popular enough to Hasbro consider making a toy based on her. Well, why not? It's not like Trixie doesn't have followers or that can't be made appealing for the target audience. And Derpy is...Derpy -- everybrony's favorite pony.
    • The problem with adding another pegasus would be that they would have to add another unicorn and another Earth pony as well. If there were more of one than the others, it might be construed as favoritism and pegasus popularity would rise, resulting in fewer sales of unicorn or Earth pony toys. Remember Hasbro's motto: To sell toys.
  • Why is no one thinking of Zecora?
    • Then she will become a Recurring Character that The Ponies will use for help when they encounter something voodoo, or She'll become a Sixth Ranger of some shorts.
      • Confirmed true: as of the 10th episode of the second season, Zecora has been in 3 of them basically for her voodoo that she does so well (the tale of Nightmare Night, the inspiration and solution for Applebloom's Cutie Pox, and as for why Spike was growing out of control).
  • As another alternative they will add a male Sixth Ranger (Doctor Whooves FTW!) in an attempt to cash in even further on the male audience.
    • Keep in mind that Hasbro started releasing repaints before they've even released molded versions of some of the main cast. I rather doubt Hasbro is paying any attention to anything at all.
  • What about Princess Luna as the Sixth Ranger? Think about it. Luna has been in the moon for 1000 years. Whether she was awake/percieved it as a full millenium doesn't matter if you realize that any friends she had before imprisonment are probably dead/gone. Secondly, there would be great potential for her development as a character; I'd expect a lot of The Atoner, guilt, etc. Thirdly, there would be potential for character dynamics; it wouldn't be a stretch at all to have one or more ponies still unsure about her, still wary. And fourth... Hasbro could make another *** toy if they wanted to.
  • It will feature longer story arches the way Lauren Faust wanted the show to be rather than episodic.
  • It will add more of the "Sailor Moon" vibe the pilot provided (which was apparently quashed by Executive Meddling), though the majority of the episodes will probably still be the slice of life sort.
    • Highly likely, since Word of God says that season(s) 2 and/or 3 will be introducing villains. (Woo hoo!)
  • There will be an episode where Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy switch personalities, just for hilarity and the fact they're voiced by the same person.
    • Why not Rainbow Dash and Applejack? They share a voice actor too.
      • Never said that couldn't happen either.
    • If not personalities, why not powers? Applejack and or Twilight as Pegasi and Fluttershy and or Pinkie as Unicorns would be awesome

Lauren Faust will include some reference to the '4chan Pony Wars'.

We know that she at least is aware of the shows popularity on 4chan, and considering how wracked the fandom is with the site putting the fan community there into a strangle hold, she's probably going to hear about it at some point. Considering the nods already given to the bronies, I wouldn't doubt one bit that she'd give a little nod at some point as to the plight of the fan community. Perhaps a little dialogue quip or something.

Season 3 will introduce more Elemental groupings.

For example: The Elements of Justice (Intelligence, Patience, Diligence)

Season two will involve a search for the "Seventh Element".

The seventh being "Courage" which is possessed by Spike, however since his young body is too fragile to handle such a power using it will involve a temporary Plot-Relevant Age-Up until he learns how to control it.

No matter how hard they may try, Studio B won't be able to give everypony from Season 1 a return appearance.

This will lead to the bronies deciding that the missing character has had an untimely demise between seasons, complete with reading "clues" from the series that supposedly support the "facts" that they will be creating, themselves.

  • Exactly how an animated character can get killed instead of merely Put on a Bus will be a main point of the debunkers.
  • If this guess is correct, expect a Snopes entry before the last episode of Season 2 is aired on the Hub network.

Season(s) 2 and/or 3 will be slightly darker than season 1.

By which I mean, there will be slightly darker storylines and elements. For the most part, the show will retain it's lightheartedness. But there will be storylines where the entire fate of Equestria is at stake, and there will be threatening villains. There might even be a sadder episode or two, like Granny Smith dying. This is because Hasbro not only acknowledges the older fanbase, but EMBRACES it. (Crowning Company of Awesome, much?) Hasbro even stated that they won't take down fan-made FiM videos, even the less child-friendly ones, because they promote the show. Since the older internet fans not only watch the show, but heavily promote it through pictures, forums, memes, and videos, Hasbro and the studio will do a little more to appeal to them while still keeping the aspects of the show that made it so awesome and appealing.

The first episode's Foreshadowing will be revealed to have another meaning.

As almost everyone knows, Nightmare Moon was shown in the hourglass in the first episode when it was distorting a statue. If you think about it, they actually could have place Foreshadowing elsewhere... Unless Nightmare Moon was watching Twilight, and has plans for her, plans that involve using her incredible powers as her own.

Cerebus Syndrome will ensue.

Someone will be Killed Off for Real.

  • Celestia, with Luna taking control of the sun as well as the moon. Twilight instead keeps her "friendship reports" in a diary of some sort, maybe a Captain's Log.
  • Granny Smith. Not necessarily killed, but maybe passing on in her sleep, leading to some bonding between Applejack and Pinkie, the latter of whom will have had experienced the loss of Granny Pie when she was Apple Bloom's age.
    • Plus, Sweetie Belle could get her cutie mark singing at the funeral.
  • A villian who is utterly evil and despicable, and somehow immune to the Elements of Harmony.

Season(s) 2 and 3 will include more references to the various fan works.

None of the villains from previous incarnations will appear.

Keep in mind, the only G1 copyrights Hasbro could retain were on Spike and Applejack. This probably extends to the villains and minor characters, too. However, we could easily get a Lawyer-Friendly Cameo or an Expy of a villain or 2.

"Lesson Zero" set up a change in format for future episodes.

Celestia condition to forget Twilight's punishment was that the rest of mane cast be involved in making friendship report when and only when they discover them. This could lead to the following in future episodes:

  • Because the rest of mane cast can send friendship reports now, there will be episodes where Twilight will be absent, possibly focusing solely on one of the characters, and if they find something to report, they can now do it themselves.
    • This is confirmed to be correct, but it still remains if the second part is also true.
  • Not every episode will have an aesop. Some will just be for fun.

The group friendship reports at the end of "Lesson Zero" will be a parallel to the Grand Galloping Gala from Season 1.

The Grand Galloping Gala (referred to further in this WMG as "GGG" for short) in Season 1 served as a psuedo-Story Arc as a sort of compromise between Faust and Hasbro. There were three episodes in this arc, a beginning, middle, and end. The beginning was the third episode. Season 2 will have the group friendship reports in the same manner. "Lesson Zero", the third episode of the season, is the beginning. At the season's midpoint, there will be a story where the plot focuses on the group friendship reports... somehow, I'm not quite sure. The season finale will be the end as well. I'm not sure how a plot could actually be derived from the reports, perhaps it'll be based on some other aspect of "Lesson Zero", or maybe it'll involve some of the new villains.

Season 3 will finally have an overarching plotline.

Reportedly, Season 3 will have only 13 episodes, compared to the first two seasons having 26 each. True, a coherent story can be hard to get out on a tight schedule, but with only half as many episodes, it would also have the plus of not having to be stretched out as far.

There are only (currently) 13 episodes for Season 3 so the FIM team can make a movie/30th anniversary special.

2012 is the 30 year anniversary of the My Little Pony franchise, so they might take some time off from the show to do something to celebrate like a movie.

Season 3 will end with a Series Fauxnale.

Season 3 will be the Grand Finale.

The show will end with a Big Damn Movie.

  • Whether the show ends after the third or fourth season or lasts even longer, it's possible it could end with a Big Damn Movie. The past My Little Pony franchises have all had movies, furthermore, it seems a show like this would go out with a bang. It may not end up in theaters but it could be on TV. It would involve the Mane Cast fighting an evil that threatens to destroy not only Equestria, but the whole world.

By the end of S2 everyone of the mane six with have had an at-least 70% sanity slippage.

The show will end with a Mass Super-Empowering Event.

In which every single pony in existence is turned into an Alicorn.

At least one member of the mane cast will get a Love Interest.

And the fandom will hate him, subjecting him to Die for Our Ship and Ron the Death Eater within hours of the first episode he appears in airing. That or they will subject the member of the mane cast he is a Love Interest for to Die for Our Ship and Ron the Death Eater, and pair him off with some other character.

  • RD will get a male Love Interest. What happens next is better left to everyone's imagination...

Mare do well is only the tip of the iceberg.

There will be more hero expies later on, including a ranger team, an adventure archeaologist, and a crack team of royal guards on the run for a crime they didn't commit.

Each of the Mane Cast's Gala fantasy will come true this season.

In "Sweet And Elite", three of theirs already did (see below). At some point, the other three will have theirs come true, and possibly the other two whose weren't the episode's focus will have episodes devoted to it.

  • Rarity: She met a high society stallon who behaved like a true gentleman towards her. Sure, there's no implication of a Love Interest with Fancypants, but he still treated her like a lady and truly liked her for who she really was.
  • Fluttershy: She made friends with some of the animals in Canterlot garden. If revisited, perhaps a future episode will involve her making friends with them (perhaps they get sick and Celestia calls her in to act as vet, knowing how much she wanted to befriend them before?)
  • Pinkie Pie: She got to enjoy a big party in Canterlot and have a great time. Hers got more focus, seeing as she threw a big party for Twilight's birthday in Canterlot's ballroom, so a second episode might not be needed exploring this.
  • Rainbow Dash: At some point, she'll get to hang out with the Wonderbolts for real, perhaps even get the chance to perform with them once (not join probably, but actually take part).
  • Applejack: She make money for her farm and family somehow, though she did destroy the old barn so a new one could be built in it's place, so hers may have already come true too.
  • Twilight: She'll get the chance to spend time with Celestia for real. Perhaps Celestia decides to take the day off and spends it with her for real.

Spike and Rarity will eventually become an Official Couple.

Due to the recent developments it seems to be leading up to this. BUT, there is a rather evident age difference and I doubt it will be openly allowed.

  • There could be a case of Jail Bait Wait, on Rarity's part.
  • Dragon Quest seems to have shades of this.

The display of The Power of Friendship to defeat the Windigos is Foreshadowing.

It shows it's possible to utilize a Circle of Friendship attack of Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu? strength without having the Elements Of Harmony, at least not the physical elements. A future villain will somehow steal the Elements again, but ultimately be beaten by the Mane Cast using the Rainbow Of Light without the physical elements.

  • In the two-episode pilot, they were able to summon the elements because the spirits of the elements were still there. So yeah, it's pretty much already confirmed that the spirits of the elements alone can be enough to defeat evil.
    • Confirmed, sort of. The Mane Cast don't do it, but Cadence and Shining Armor manage to repeat what was used to defeat the Windigos in order to put down Chrysalis and her swarm.

Discord's origins will be revealed.

And it will turn out he was originally a being with little power at all, until a source gave him Reality Warping abilities turning him into who he is today.

  • This troper came up with the idea that Discord was created by a combination of the Windigos, beginning to starve from the new-found Harmony between Pony-kind, and whatever it was that made Nightmare Moon.

The Fire of Friendship will serve many roles later in the series

  • The beacon will be transported in a torch and later re-lit as the full beacon in the Equestrian version of the Olympics.
  • The beacon will be a source of power for the six when the Elements of Harmony fail them somehow.

After Friendship is Magic gets its series finale, there will be a sequel series.

Possibly featuring the offspring of the FIM cast as the new main characters, maybe even some characters related to side characters like Zecora or even Derpy. Like The Legend of Korra, it would place the characters in a different situation to avoid repeating the events of the first show, perhaps having the characters travel all over Equestria or even the world to do research. It might even have an overarching storyline as opposed to "slice of life" episodes that are dominant in FIM.

  • A possibility: The offsprings are meant to wield the Elements of Harmony... But unlike their parents, will have to develop to fit into their roles.
    • That would be pretty cool.
      • "Pretty cool?" This is the best idea ever!
      • Seconded! I WANT!...And now I will try my hand at this as a fanfic! To my writing program!

Each character will get a solo Image Song this season

Rarity's already had "Becoming Popular", which works as one for her. "Smile, Smile, Smile" is one for Pinkie Pie. Word of God has already confirmed Twilight will (or was going to) get a solo song as well, which would be hers. Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Applejack will get there's at other points.

We'll get a nod to the myriad crossovers the fandom has produced. Especially those with "macho" franchises.

Ideas are welcome and encourgaed.

  • A MW3 parody, perhaps? The villain of the day could even be a huge bear voiced by none other than Roman Varshavsky! (Varshavsky voiced Makarov in the games).

The characters will suffer Flanderization.

Similar to the Seasonal Rot that happened with SpongeBob SquarePants, here are some possibilities.

  • Twilight turns from a bookworm to an inventor, who builds things such as robots.
  • Pinkie Pie turns from a lovable Cloudcuckoolander to a full blown ditz, with stupidity challenging that of Patrick.
  • Rainbow Dash goes from a Jerk with a Heart of Gold to a Jerkass who likes to torment other ponies For the Evulz.
  • Applejack becomes even more stereotypically southern.
  • Fluttershy turns from a cute, woobieish Shrinking Violet, to an annoying little pussy who cries at anything, such as losing a shoe.
  • Rarity becomes a similar self-absorbed jerk that Prince Blueblood was.
    • And then the series will either be cancelled mid-season and replaced with a new line-up of ponies, or it will just keep going until most of the fanbase has strayed from it.

The show will end or will begin its last arc of episodes with someone's death

Because what better way to end a quest to report findings on friendship than by having a report of what happens when the friendship meets an untimely end?

Lyra Heartstrings will get some screentime.

With all her appearances, a quite consistent haughty personality, and even spoken lines, Bon Bon is all but a borderline secondary character at this point in the season; time for Lyra to get some characterization.

DJ PON-3/Vinyl Scratch will be named and/or speak.

To make it up to those fans who are still upset about the Derpy incident, DJ PON-3 will get a similarly-focused scene. Nobody could be offended by DJ PON-3 right?

Season 3 will be the last season and will only make 13 episodes.

I just realized: 26+26+13=65 AKA: The limit of most kids shows... for the love of Celestia! Tell me I'm wrong!

  • I don't know. This troper would prefer a short run to a long run that Jumps the Shark.
    • This troper would prefer a long run that doesn't Jump the Shark.
    • Technically, this limit is mostly imposed by Disney, which doesn't own the MLP line.

The series finale will Torch the Franchise and Run.

  • They will do this to ensure the G4 characters will not be corrupted with Seasonal Rot and, should a new series be made, will force the creation of a fresh generation.

If a Big Damn Movie comes out, there will be a remixed version of the Extended version of the sing-along on the DVD.

To punctuate a particularly incredibly cool and amazing moment.

If a movie comes out, it will be an alternate version of Return of Harmony.

Retelling the events of Return of Harmony to make up for what seemed like rushed storytelling and/or lost potential in the original episode.

There will be an episode about the Other Mane 6 (Derpy,DJ Pon-3,and other backround ponies).

Only Changelings are supposed to be able to use the power of love

That's why Chrysalis is surprised. Maybe Shining Armor is/can use a small amount of changeling power.

Compared to the past two seasons, the third season will have a noticeable decrease in background pony clones...

...implying that changelings really were lurking in previous episodes.

The Third Season might never actually come.

If worse comes to worst, Hasbro might eventually get tired of bronies arguing and fighting each other (e.g. "Derpy Drama") that they cancel the show giving them nothing. They might make a mediocre CGI movie though. Regardless, if we're not careful, the My Little Pony we all know and love right now could eventually be Ruined Forever.

All the villains will return...

...But working together, putting aside each other's petty differences in either an attempt to steal Equestria and the world, or just general revenge against the Mane Cast, with the Changeling Army functioning as mooks for the villains.

There will be a story arc that isn't restricted to two episodes.

And the story arc will have the Mane Cast travel across Equestria to teach other villages or species An Aesop, separated from each other, all because they're either dealing with a brand new threat, or all of the previous threats.

The Four horses of the Apocalypse will appear

Pestilence, War, Famine and Death (With Death’s name changed, this is a kid’s show after all) Will show up for some reason. Most likely as major villains. After all, these horses are supposed to signal the end of times, and what better finale than to save all life on whatever planet equestria is on?

Derpy's next speaking roll

Will be ordering muffins from Suger Cube Corner and will go like this: Mrs Cake: Hello Derpy what can I get for you today? Derpy: I'll have my ususal Mrs Cake: Two Dusen assorted muffins coming up

A future Big Bad will be beaten using Storge and Agape Love

The show is Phileo Love, Eros Love was used to defeat Chrysalis. Perhaps another villain will be defeated another type of love.

Possibilities (Please, add your own):

  • Spike and Twilight's Brother/Sister Love for one another.
    • Manifests: In some kind of Fire Spell, probably green.
  • Celestia's unconditional love for her subjects.
    • Manifests: ???
  • Twilight, Shining Armor, and their Parents' familial love.
    • Manifests: In a gigantic explosion of magic.
  • Twilight's love for and/or faith in every living creature in Equestria as well as everypony's faith in Twilight

Connecting to the above, the final Big Bad will be defeated by all of The Four Loves together

The Mane Cast using the Elements, Shining Armor and Cadence using their love for each other, Celestia and Luna using the love for their people, and...someone using family love, possibly the rest of the Apples.

The "Crystal Empire" is a plot element in Season 3, either as a the premiere episode or Season Finale

Some upcoming toys are tagged as part of a "Crystal Empire" set. “Welcome to the Crystal Empire, a magical place full of hidden secrets! The ponies shine and sparkle here!” Now, they made an entire toyline set for the Royal Wedding, so it makes sense they may repeat the formula. Also, much like the Royal Wedding the actual Crystal Empire episode(s?) will be much Darker and Edgier than the toys would have you believe. After all, its full of hidden secrets!

Next season's major villains will all have a theme

This season was Emotion Eaters, Discord off of disharmony between ponies, the Windigos off the Power of Hate, and the Changelings off the Power of Love. If the Flim Flam Brothers and the teenaged dragons are included, then the theme was [[[Manipulative Bastard]] manipulative villains]] (Flim Flam Brothers manipulated the entire town and the Apples, and it's pretty obvious that the teenage dragons were manipulating Spike into joining their gang to use him as phoenix bait). First season only had one major villain, Nightmare Moon, but pride and jealousy was the theme behind every villain that season, Gilda seems at least partly driven by jealousy over Pinkie being Rainbow's friend, Trixie was prideful, and Nightmare Moon was jealous of her sister. The next season will have it's own theme when it comes to villains.

Season 3 will introduce another mode of transportation (and add it to the opening sequence)

Twilight Sparkle's Twinkling Balloon has been there since Season 1, and Season 2 brought the Friendship Express Train.

  • And it will be an Airship.

Season 3 will give Twilight Sparkle a Story Arc.

As a way of making up for putting her Out of Focus for most of Season 2.

  • Wasn't her Out of Focus due to her being primarily the one in focus in Season 1?

Trixie will return, and be given redemption.

Why wouldn't she? I'm sick of people painting her as a destined villain. I want her to be forgiven, and part ways with the Mane 6 under kinder terms.

  • Alternate to the above, Trixie will be offered redemption, but reject it because it reeks of Protagonist-Centered Morality. She will then goes into a rant about how it was they who started it, how it seems they are the ones who semi-routinely ruin major social events, and asks whether her free show they were not obligated to attend was a warm-up for the Grand Galloping Gala or the Canterlot Garden Party.

Twilight Sparkle will get a really cool birthday present.

Perhaps even in an episode that airs in 2013.

Rarity and Sweetie Belle's parents will have one or more speaking roles in Season 3.

They're the only characters listed in this email who haven't appeared in more than one episode...yet.

Applejack will be removed from the mane cast at some point in season three

The writers don't seem to know what to do with her character, and in almost all the (Very few) episodes she gets the spotlight in, she ends up being overshadowed by somepony else. So, they will either kill her off (Unlikely due to the nature of the show), or put her on a bus. She may reappear at times or get a few mentions (i.e Rainbow Dash checking her mail and getting a letter from 'Jack) , but her role in the show will be drastically reduced. Methods by which she may be killed off/ put on a bus (Feel free to add more):

If the above WMG proves to be correct, Applejack's replacement will be...

  • Cheerilee
  • Braeburn
  • Trixie

Season 3's first cold opening will involve an extremely intimidating villain being introduced...

...but in the very next scene, Celestia swoops in and handily (hoofily?) takes care of his/her mess. The episode, a two-parter like the other season openers, then goes on to be a Day in The Limelight for Celestia, in which we delve into the history of how she and Luna came to power.

Twilight will become Brainwashed and Crazy by the next Big Bad.

And only her friends will be able to change her back to normal.

  1. For those not in the know, The Smooze is a G1 villain.
  2. ...If anyone wants to make a fanfic out of this, go ahead; I lack confidence in myself as a writer to adequately make this into a proper story.
  3. which That Other Wiki tells me is also the name of a water obstacle in horse jumping
  4. Fire, Ice, Lightning
  5. Especially funny since the CMC were based on the PPG.
  6. G2 had no cartoon, but it did have a video game and some picture books
