Nightwing/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Complete Monster: Quite a few. Dudley Soames when he becomes Torque, Nite-Wing, and Blockbuster just to name a few.
  • Ensemble Darkhorse: DC Comics' official position is that he's the most beloved superhero in the community (yes, even moreso than Superman) and that almost any member of it would instantly drop what they were doing to help if he were in trouble.
    • He's this (Arguably) outside of comics as well. Dick Grayson routinely gets top marks in popularity polls, even beating out iconic characters like Superman and Batman himself.
  • Heartwarming Moments: In one issue of his self-titled series, Dick muses to himself about the differences between himself and Bruce. In the end, he concludes that if Bruce could go back in time and trade becoming Batman just to have his parents back, he would do so in a heartbeat. Dick admits to himself that, while he misses his parents terribly, he wouldn't trade being raised by Bruce for anything in the world.
  • My Real Daddy: Bob Kane is credited with creating Dick Grayson, with some credit also going to Bill Finger... but Nightwing was created by Marv Wolfman, who had exclusive rights to the character throughout his entire run on New Teen Titans. Chuck Dixon is then credited with developing Dick's solo career in the 1996 Nightwing title.
  • Never Live It Down: His first costume, the disco suit. It’s a regular source of mockery in the fandom. If they got past the green underwear and pixie boots.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: "One Year Later". Jason Todd dressing up as Nightwing isn't a bad idea. And this was Jason's first appearance after the "Under the Red Hood" storyline. Instead of Dick trying to reason with his little brother we have the Girl of the Week save the day after Jason is turned into a tentacle monster.
