• Hauteclocque's destruction of the Italian Army in Africa.
• Operación Tormenta: the destruction of the Italian Navy stationed in Tarento in a series of bombing runs, as recounted by Ramón Franco.
• Charles de Gaulle's maneuvers to prevent France from asking for armistice with Nazi Germany.
• The Battle of Zaragoza. The Allies only have Spanish and British regular troops, militiamen and armed civilians. The Germans send the Wehrmacht and the SS to take the city. The Germans thought it would take them 10 days, starting from March 28th, to win. They use those 10 days (April 7th) just to surround the city. 45 days (May 12) to take just the northern half of the city. 67 days (June 3rd) to finally force Zaragoza to surrender. The result? 50,000 Allied (mostly Spanish) casualties and 100,000 German casualties (plus the loss of many tanks).
• Portugal's Last Stand in Lisbon.
• When a member of the right-wing CEDA suggests asking for an armistice to the Nazis after the Spanish mainland has been invaded by the German Army, Durruti hears it, pulls out a gun and puts it over the table, telling the CEDA member that the Government respectfully rejects the suggestion.
• The Battle of Moscow. For many days, the whole war depended on what was happening in the Kremlin Square and Moscow's sewers.
• Operation Sea Lion. It consists of two different operations. The first half (Operation Sea) is an invasion of the Spanish Levant, with landings in Murcia and Alicante. When German troops in southern Spain leave to face the invasion, the second half, Operation Lion, is activated. It consists of an invasion of western Andalusia, an excellent tank country. Extra points for making Erwin "Magnificent Bastard" Rommel think "Oh Crap" when he realises he has been outsmarted.
• Rokossovsky's mad dash in January 1943 across the German lines, or how to sneak an entire army behind the german lines and advance hundreds of miles destroying everything in their path, going against Stalin's orders, in the middle of constant snowstorms and (presumably) on fire. In the end he almost succeeds in wiping out an entire German army group. And this is only the last act of the greatest battle in the war.
