Basic Trope: A characters name is famous enough to where its associated with a specific individual.

  • Straight: Mario has become famous to the point where his name has become associated with himself.
  • Exaggerated: Mario has become famous to the point where he is the only person in existence to have his name associated with himself.
  • Downplayed: Mario's name is famous, that whenever people hear the name, he's the first person they think of, despite plenty of other people still having that name.
  • Justified: Mario just happens to have a fairly uncommon name.
    • Mario has trademarked his name so that no one else may use it.
  • Inverted: Mario's name is very obscure.
  • Subverted: There is more than one famous person who is associated with the name of Mario.
  • Double Subverted: Although one of those Marios are so famous, that the other Marios are forced to be introduced with their last name to keep people from thinking of the most famous one.
