Planescape: Torment/Trivia

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Approval of God: Chris Avellone gave his approval for the Updated Rerelease made by Beamdog.
  • Contractual Immortality: Characters like Fell and Lothar are Planescape regulars, hence they cannot be killed.
  • Hey, It's That Voice!:
  • Preorder Bonus: Pre-orders from Interplay came with the novel for free.
    • A novel whose writers appeared to have not played the game, nor even had a particularly in-depth discussion with the game's makers about its content, other than the basic plot and a list of major character names. Annah, for instance, changed from a fiery, red-headed embodiment of withering sarcasm to a big-breasted bouncy blonde. She lost her distinctive accent too.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Looking at the pitches and design documents for Last Rites (the game's original name) and seeing just how much stuff didn't make it into the final product can be downright depressing.
    • An early draft of the plot the novelization was based on, and further plot development with Fhjull Forked-Tongue, whose interaction ends up a bit rushed in the release version.
    • Lustmord had originally been approached to work on the game's soundtrack, but was dropped from the project after a new producer took over.
