Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.
(Redirected from Pony Dot Mov)

PONY.MOV is a flash series created by HotDiggedyDemon. It's basically My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic if it was created by John Kricfalusi and involves a metric ton of Mind Screw. The basic premise is the same as the show - ponies doing... stuff. Except with a much darker, more grotesque twist. And swag.

The videos so far:

There's also an Ask a Pony blog, ASK JAPPLEACK (Start with the Archive here if you'd like to read in the correct order rather than backwards), as well as a Twitter for Paco from DRESS.MOV and SPIKE.MOV.

Tropes used in PONY.MOV include:

RD-5000: Crush. Kill. Destroy. Swag.

  • Bigger on the Inside: Fluttershy's shed.
  • Black Comedy
  • Brain Food: In SHED.MOV, Fluttershy tries to eat Rainbow Dash's brain.
  • Break the Cutie: SHED.MOV gives quite the Freudian Excuse to Fluttershy.
  • Break the Haughty: Jappleack after Applebloom dies. See Cerebus Syndrome below.
  • Butch Lesbian: Rainbow Dash, of course!
  • Call Back: When Twilight attempts to bring Rainbow Dash back to life, her and Spike hover over the body, in which Spike asks "Yo Rainbow Dash... you alright?" almost exactly how he had said it to Applejack in APPLE.MOV.
  • Catch Phrase: "Swag!" - Rainbow Dash
    • Spike: "Hey, how's about a wanna have a pizza pie?" *Laugh Track* "That's my catchphrase." Though it's inverted with Spike, as he only says it once.
    • Fluttershy: "Hey hey hey. Stay out of my shed."
  • Cerebus Syndrome: Ask Jappleack has fallen into this trope after Applebloom's death (To be fair, the fact that the creator of this series also made Jerry probably explains this).
    • Let's examine this a little more. Ask Jappleack began as your usual Tumblr Ask Blog Fourth Wall Mail Slot. People sent in questions and Japple answers them in an odd and non-sequitur manner. Around the time that Jappleack begins to assault Applebloom, the blog began to be more Dude, Not Funny than the previous Crosses the Line Twice humor. After a flurry of fan feedback, Jappleack finally made peace with Applebloom, and offhandedly wondered what she would do if anything were to happen to Applebloom, discovering how dependent she is on her little sister. Then SHED.MOV happened, which had Applebloom dying in the first scene. Afterwards, Jappleack suffered from depression, and it was revealed that Winona had also been killed in Discord's onslaught. Jappleack then began to lose her interest in apples, and out of desperation, ate a pear at a fruit stand. Disgusted at herself, the scene cut to Jappleack taking a cold shower, sprawled out on the floor of the shower room. She began to accept the miserable state of her life... and then she began to hallucinate the applematrix that appeared in APPLE.MOV. And let's just say that the whole blog got a lot more complicated after that.
  • Characterization Marches On: In APPLE.MOV, Rarity was thinner and didn't have the upper-class voice she does in DRESS.MOV.
  • Character Blog: The Ask a Pony blog ASK JAPPLEACK.
  • Cluster F-Bomb: Applejack in the blog.
  • Comedic Sociopathy
  • Continuity Nod: When trying to resurrect Rainbow Dash in MAGIC.MOV, Spike looks at her and says "Yo, Rainbow Dash. You alright?" The scene is nearly identical to one in APPLE.MOV, except this one features Rainbow Dash instead of Applejack.
  • Creepy Shadowed Undereyes: Fluttershy gets these in SHED.MOV.
  • Crossover: With June at the end of SPIKE.MOV.
  • Cruelty Rich Leather: Fluttershy's shed has skinned critters all over the walls and a skinned Derpy as a toaster cozy.
  • Crush! Kill! Destroy! Swag: The RD-5000.
  • A Date with Rosie Palms: In DRESS.MOV when Twilight randomly starts... clopping.
  • Dead Baby Comedy: The series began to move toward this around SHED.MOV.
  • Death by Racism: Rarity gets quite a "generous beating" from the illegal Mexican immigrants whom she forced to make her dresses.
  • Dem Bones: In SHED.MOV, the skinned critters come to life during the musical number.
  • Deranged Animation: It looks like Spumco made it.
  • Distracted by My Own Sexy: Rarity breaks her routine of abusing her workforce to gaze at her reflection, calling herself "the most beautiful creature in all of Ponyville".
  • Distracted by the Sexy: Upon entering Fluttershy's corpse filled shed, the first thing both Spike and Rainbow Dash notice is the porn.
  • Dramatic Irony: From Paco's Twitter "Today is Hearts and Hooves Day. Meesus Rarity gave me a chocolate-covered heart. She said she found it outside Meesus Fluttershy's shed."
  • Early Installment Weirdness:
    • In APPLE.MOV, Rarity is as thin as the other ponies in the series. In DRESS.MOV, she is shown to be quite obese.
    • The same goes for Pinkie's unibrow.
      • Which returns in SHED.MOV's flashback sequence.
    • Rainbow Dash's cutie mark, which changes from the normal one to two female symbols overlapping.
  • Extremely Short Timespan: From DRESS.MOV to MAGIC.MOV, they seem to have taken place within one day. DRESS.MOV taking place in the morning, SHED.MOV taking place later at that day, MAGIC.MOV taking place at night and so on.
  • Fan Disservice: Rarity's bitchtits and Twilight's clopping.
  • Fat and Proud: Rarity. Though she seems blissfully unaware she's fat.
  • Fat Bastard: Rarity in DRESS.MOV easily qualifies.
  • Feather Fingers: parodied a few times. In SHED.MOV Fluttershy unexplicably gains fingers (which she snaps) for a moment. Even better, in MAGIC.MOV Twilight's hoof suddenly visibly sprouts a finger for the sole sake of pressing a button.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • After her Pet the Dog moment, Applejack makes an innocent comment foreshadowing something in SHED.MOV.
    • She made vague comments lying casually down in the same position before both DRESS.MOV and SHED.MOV.
    • Fluttershy's cutie mark is a bloody knife.
      • And she also foreshadowed the subject of SHED.MOV in DRESS.MOV, warning others in a running gag to "stay outta [her] shed"
    • Early on, a reader pointed out the danger in eating too many whole apples, in that the seeds contain small amounts of cyanide. They were reassured that Jappleack eats only cartoon apples. And yet...
  • Fourth Wall Mail Slot: The Ask a Pony blog ASK JAPPLEACK.
  • Furry Reminder: Twilight poops just like a real horse.
  • Gross-Out Show
  • Heartbreaking in Hindsight: Anything involving Applebloom since Shed.MOV
  • Heroic BSOD: Jappleack has been going through this ever since Applebloom died.
  • Hold Your Hippogriffs: Discussed by Spike, as he asks what is the point of saying "anypony" instead of "anybody."
  • Hostile-ish Blog Takeover: Jappleack's tumblr was taken over by canon!Applejack after she knocked Jappleack out cold in pre-emptive self-defense, but now canon!Twilight's explained what's going on... and it ain't pretty.
  • Homage: SHED.MOV has clear shades of Carrie, including a near-recreation of the blood prank, the only difference being the source of the blood.
  • Informed Trait: Rarity's generosity.
  • Insistent Terminology: Rarity constantly refers to herself as being the most generous Pony in all Ponyville.
  • Jerkass: Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie towards Fluttershy.
  • Jump Scare: The endings of SHED.MOV and MAGIC.MOV show Psycho!Fluttershy's Nightmare Face flying right at you. Subverted in MAGIC.Mov, which gives off several moments where it looks like Rainbow Dash's corpse will suddenly spring up, but nothing happens.
  • Kaiju: Discord
    • Also the Wolfmother demon that Twilight unwittingly summoned while trying to revive Rainbow Dash.
  • Karma Houdini: Pinkie Pie didn't receive her punishment like Rainbow Dash did for bullying Fluttershy in the past. However, if she is to be believed, then she, unlike Dash, has a huge Freudian Excuse of her own:

"Alright, alright, what's goin' on in here?"

Applejack: Boy, lemme tell ya - I sure do love apples.

Twilight: I'm going to try a black magic resurrection spell.
Spike: How about you resurrect my penis. (beat) With sex.

  • Villain Song: "Gunna Eat'cha Brains," sung in the tune of the Fat Albert theme song.
  • Visual Pun: Selfish, greedy Rarity constantly talks about how generous she is. The only generous thing about her is her obese figure. And the beating she gets when her Mexican workers start a "revolucion".
  • Waking Up Elsewhere: After consuming enough apples, Jappleack ends up in the normal version of Equestria, knocked out cold by Applejack.
  • Wham! Line: "I hate to tell you this, Jappleack, but... you're the one who's not real."
    • And then shortly therefter: "What's 'died'?" (Note that this somewhat contradicts canon, since we've seen at least one on-screen funeral.(Unless you consider we aren't IN the canon universe, judging from the mentions of the Holy Titans and how pony of faith was italicized in the latest comic, we're probably in a very similar to canon Equestria.)])
  • Who's Laughing Now?: SHED.MOV.
  • Why Did You Make Me Hit You?: Jappleack sometimes does this to Applebloom
  • Wild Take
  • Writer's Block: Twilight struggles to write a letter to Princess Celestia because she hasn't learned anything, so she screws it up and throws it in the trash, which is full of other balls of screwed up paper. Not that Princess Celestia is even alive at that point...
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: Twilight's theories about ressurecting cadavers are all from movies, and she doesn't understand why they don't work.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: In SHED.MOV, Apple Bloom gets her cutie mark and promptly squished by Discord.
    • Just as Jappleack finally finds happiness, she starts getting pulled back into her own world.
