  • Fridge Logic: The Labyrinth Alliance was kept completely secret, despite having several MASSIVE facilities around the world.
    • They even managed to keep a special G-Reaction engine rocket ship a secret amongst only the higher-ups WITHIN the Labyrinth alliance.
      • And then there was the Secretary General of the UN making a deal with the Baguans, having Penny kidnapped, and managing to get a full manned Baguan ship into a human hangar without anyone that might have opposed noticing.
  • Memetic Badass: James, James, JAMES!
    • Captain Clayton also counts.
      • As well as Emely, and several unnamed members of the Labyrinth Alliance.
  • The Woobie: Penny lost his parents at a very young age. It turned out that they were abducted by the Baguans. They were eventually brainwashed and sent back to earth to act as what were essentially suicide bombers. His mother, dead in mind but alive in body, was shot to death before his very eyes, and she was shot to stop her from stabbing poor Penny.
  • What Do You Mean It's Not for Kids?: There's quite a bit of blood in this series.
