Santa Claus is Comin' to Town/WMG
There is only one female, who is explicitly called "the elf queen". She is also twice the size of the males, who despite their beards appear mostly asexual. What we're seeing is a race not unlike bees who just happen to resemble humans, with a queen mother and her drones.
