Saving Private Edwards (episode one, episode two) is a two-episode long Show Within a Show of Talking With Jon starring:

The characters themselves are, to be honest, one-dimensional. This would just describe what they are, and a handful of other things.

• Ron: Composed of mostly triangular parts, Ron was a superhero before an incident left him the way he is now. Ron has a job of... playing ping-pong.
• Brad: Apparently a car-human hybrid, Brad himself looks - and sounds - Emo. He also laughs for no reason sometimes.
• Jefery: An amphibious talking fish.
• Edwards: Apparently the only human in the show, Edwards (no, not "Edward", Edwards) is the Butt Monkey of the series, getting stuck in a hole in episode one, and getting trapped in a car in episode two. He is saved in the first episode (hence the title), yet the second has the heros ignore him.
• Vince: A robot scientist that mostly hangs out in his lavatory laboratory. He has a nasty habit of making chemical mixtures that explode, and even putting them in pies.

In episode one, Vince creates a hole that Edwards falls in. Ron, Brad, Jeffery, Grandpa/Grandma(someone who just says "clam clowder"), and an unnamed character that just laughs for no reason head up to Mr. Potato Head's (Don't ask, see the video) building (which is his house) to ask for help. After getting some pie he asked for, he tells them to go to the house of Tony R. N., who says that Ron can just fly into the hole to save Edwards. They have pie, which has Vince's chemicals in it. Thanks to that, the house explodes, as well as Mr. Potato Head's house, because he, too, had pie.

In the second episode, everyone gets better, and Edwards gets trapped in Ron's car (here, he is not saved, but saves himself). Then a bunch of randomness that has nothing to do with saving Edwards. Afterwords, Ron gets arrested (by Tony R. N., who is a cop) for going over the speed limit, then Edwards breaks free and crashes into the police station, blowing it up (this could be an accident). Meanwhile, Vince creates an explosion by mixing chemicals at the house, and Mr. Potato head blows up his own house by an explosive fart.

Tropes used in Saving Private Edwards include:

• Butt Monkey: Edwards. Although he enjoyed his stay at the hole in the first episode...
• Chewing the Scenery: Mr. Potato Head's "GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!"
• Homage: The Simpsons in the episode two intro, King of the Hill in the episode one intro (Hank Hill himself slows up briefly.)
• Jerkass: Mr. Potato Head. Sends them out to get him pie, then sends them away.
• Stuff Blowing Up: This is a show within a show of Talking With Jon, what do you expect?
• Unexplained Recovery: The entire cast that was in during the first episode (except for maybe Vince and Edwards, who where both in that hole)
