Scale Wars

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Scale Wars is a new-defunct Photo Comic featuring action figures from many lines including G.I. Joe, Star Wars, Marvel Comics, DC, Indiana Jones, WWE, and the ever popular much, much more. It combines all of these mix matched universes into one small town where the figures live, breath and fight an eternal war of slapstick and wisecracks. The wars constantly wage and the battle lines are always being redrawn. At the center of the comic is a congregation of characters lead by Toxo-Zombie and featuring such characters as Darth Vader, Snake Eyes, Deadpool, Firefly, Triple-H, Captain America, Storm Shadow, Thor, Jason Voorhees, Batman, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Hellboy, Optimus Prime, Ash, Hulk, The Lone Ranger among others in unbelievable and zany adventures. Scale Wars was updated Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week and sometimes on the weekends, but it appears to have abruptly stopped updating around May 2013. Its website subsequently vanished entirely a few years later.

A Wayback Machine archive of the comic can be found here..

Tropes used in Scale Wars include:
  • Accidental Hero: Toxo-Zombie only became Mayor of 1:18th town and thus leader because no one else would take the job. This was after he was kicked out of Cobra for being a screw up.
  • Adaptive Armor: Like Queen Amadala in Star Wars Ep1 The Phantom Menace, Iron Man changes his armor every time he walks through a door.
  • Alternate History: Darth Vader didn’t destroy the Emperor but rather quit the Empire to be a father to his son Luke Skywalker
  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Most of the characters in Scale Wars are familiar but slightly different with more absurd character flaws exaggerated.
  • Attention Deficit Ooh Shiny: Luke Skywalker is often distracted by molecules in the air.
  • Bat Signal: Batman is unbeatable IF he has prep time. However he has been beaten when caught off guard.
  • Beware the Superman: Superman was exposed to Red Kryptonite (which has a different effect with each exposure) and now has a crush on Batman.
  • Bloodless Carnage: No one can die, except maybe the audience.
  • Body Snatcher: Deadpool was forced by Loki to shoot the fanboy who represented the audience. This lead to the heroes being fooled into believing the comic had been cancelled.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Sometimes the cast forgets there is an audience.

Agent Faces: Wait, are you trying to suggest people read this thing?
Toxo-Zombie: Sure, right there see.
Agent Faces: Well ain’t that a thing.

  • Bruce Wayne Held Hostage: Because of Superman’s advances, Batman often is too distracted to use his impressive “Outwit” ability.
  • Catch Phrase: Many Characters have catch phrases

Firefly: I think you underestimate the power of the sneaky.
Even Pell: We’re all gonna die!
Any Wrestler: It’s Professional Wrestling, it never makes sense.
Anyone: It’s an Homage! (anytime something is clearly lifted directly from another source)
