The following are Trivial facts relating to Seth MacFarlane.

Adored by the Network: Ever since King of the Hill ended and Sit Down, Shut Up flopped so bad that FOX yanked it off the air after four episodes, the Sunday night "Animation Domination" line-up is mostly Seth MacFarlane's cartoons. The only cartoons that aren't created by Seth MacFarlane on the line-up are The Simpsons [23 seasons and more or less still going strong] and a crop of oddball shows such as Bob's Burgers and the animated adaptation of Napoleon Dynamite. If FOX's penchant for canceling shows as quickly as they premiere is indicative of anything (and the fact that Bob's Burgers has yet to come back with new episodes), the oddball cartoons will probably be canceled and forgotten either after the series' end or sooner than that.
Real Life Relative: His sister, Rachael, also does voice-acting on his shows (the voice of Hayley on American Dad and regularly contributes additional voices to the other shows).
Screwed by the Network: Family Guy was subjected to this. American Dad has been this way as well, especially ever since Family Guy was Uncancelled (Family Guy even has jokes about American Dad being nigh-unknown, such as Peter referring to the show as "...whatever FOX is limping to the barn with," and in American Dad, Brian Griffin stares at Stan and scoffs, "Do I know you?"). Amazingly, The Cleveland Show hasn't been subjected to this treatment, despite the fact that most Seth MacFarlane fans don't care much for this show.
Talking to Himself: Played straight in Family Guy and (to a lesser extent), American Dad; averted with The Cleveland Show as MacFarlane only plays one character on that show (Tim the Bear).
What Could Have Been: Originally, MacFarlane was hired to do cartoon shorts for the FOX sketch show, Mad TV, but backed out in favor of doing his own series. Had he chosen to do work for Mad TV, he would have been just like Matt Groening and created Family Guy as filler for a sketch show, just like Groening did with The Simpsons for The Tracy Ullman Show.
Write What You Know: A lot of his enthusiasms for creating Family Guy was the lack of New England-type humor on television.
