Slayer Academy

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Script Fic spin-off of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and part of the MZP (virtual series "network") Continuity, which includes continuations of Buffy, Angel and a Faith spin-off. The show focuses on the Slayers gathered at the Rupert Giles Academy For Girls to train them in the use of their new abilities. They begin the series hunting down and closing Hellmouths opened during the events of the finale of the Buffy continuation and dealing with a group of rogue Slayers lead by witch Kira Brogan. Later seasons introduce the Cabal, a mysterious organization determined to wipe out the Slayer line, and sees the Slayers dealing with a virus that will infect and kill the entire Slayer line if no cure is found. All episodes are in script format and it can be found here.

Tropes used in Slayer Academy include:

  • Back From the Dead

  • The Bus Came Back: Barbara returns in the season five opening episode.
  • The Chosen Many: The Slayers
  • Clear My Name: Skye must do this after being framed for Heidi's Murder.
  • Commuting on a Bus: Erika, Rachel and Manu, all after season four.
  • Damaged Soul: People brought back using the Cabal's Resurrection Machine come back like this.
  • De-Power: Many Slayers begin to lose their powers as a result of the Slayer power being spread too thin, but the Virus accelerates the process. Several Slayers choose to be depowered as it was the only way to cure them of the Virus.
  • Disability Superpower: Erika, who is blind but still has the ability to sense what is around her due to her Slayer abilities.
  • Dying Moment of Awesome: In the finale, Tori jumps into the biggest hellmouth ever, dropping a bag of bombs into the mouth of a dragon as she does so.
  • Fake Defector: Erika, when she defects to the Rogues at the same time as Braeden and Darcie
  • Foreshadowing: Alita's death in season 3 is foreshadowed in season 1 during a shared dream where Sophia and Alita are forced to fight to the death.
  • Healing Hands: Aiden and, in seaons 3-5, Debbie.
  • Healing Factor: Aiden and, in seaons 3-5, Debbie.
  • It's a Wonderful Plot: In season 3, Sofia is shown what would have happened if she had died on her first day at the Academy instead of Emma and given the option of making that reality.
  • Killed Off for Real: Juanita, Aiden and Braeden all in Season Three never re-appeared after death.
  • Loads and Loads of Characters: The show begins by only focusing on the A Squad of four Slayers, their Watcher, and a few Academy Staff, but quickly expands to include a B and C squad, the Rouges, and several minor Slayer characters.
  • Love Makes You Evil: Sofia joins the Cabal at the end of Season 2 because of her relationship with Braedon.
  • Mauve Shirt: Over the course of the series several minor background slayers are introduced. Most are little more than a name and brief description, but they do get a little development.
  • The Mole: Anna is forced to be a mole by the Cabal, who are holding her brother hostage. He is in fact working with them the whole time and kills here when she tries to rescue him
  • Red Shirt: Happens several times over the course where a Slayer ends up dead during her first appearance.
