Snatch/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Acceptable Targets: I fucking hate Pikeys.
    • While Avi seems like just a loud-mouthed jerk to American viewers, British viewers have commented that he reflects the worst in American stereotypes.
  • Complete Monster: Brick Top.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: Big time.
  • Crowning Music of Awesome: Guy Ritchie is known for this. "Golden Brown" by The Stranglers during the scene when Mickey knocks out Gorgeous George and "Fuckin' in the Bushes" for Mickey's last fight are particularly excellent examples.
    • "Disco Science" by Mirwais during the hare coursing scene definitely qualifies for this.
      • Massive Attack's "Angel" is perfect for making the burning camper scene all the more intense.
  • Curb Stomp Battle: Every fight Mickey gets into. A good trait in a boxer? Not if he's supposed to be throwing them...
  • Ear Worm: Boris' theme.
  • It's the Same, Now It Sucks: The movie is very similar in style, theme, setting and characters to Guy Ritchie's earlier Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, so while Snatch was still more or less well-received, most of the criticism revolved around Ritchie essentially retreading old ground.
  • Memetic Badass: Boris the Blade.
  • Moral Event Horizon: In response to learning that Mickey wants a caravan for his mother in exchange for fighting, Bricktop responds by having Mickey's mum's caravan burnt down. While she's still in it.
