These are recommendations made by tropers for Sonic The Hedgehog fanfics, all of which have to be signed to stay on the page. After a few samples, you will be able to note the interests of the tropers recommending them, and judge whether you might be also interested in a certain 'fic.

Feel free to add a fanfic of your own to the list, but remember to use the template found here.[1] Do warn when a fanfic may head into sexual[2] or non-canon territory. Some people just don't like it, and as we all know, Shipping is Serious Business.

Reviews of fics are encouraged, but if you choose to write one, please make it substantive, and give specific details about what you liked / disliked in the fic. If you want to give a fic a thumbs-up without writing a full review, you can add your troper handle to the Recommendations Line. Please refrain from posting "Comments" or Conversation in the Main Page though; that goes in the discussion page.

  • Synopsis: What's the story about? Give here a brief summary of the plot. It would be also useful to point out in what moment of the series the story takes place. If it's a Gen Fic but it has some romantic elements, note here the characters involved too.

The CRONIES by "The Triple Peeps"/Apollo Alexandre

  • Synopsis: What was originally going to be a "Friends"-style parody turned into an episodic and comedic adventure, as Sonic the Hedgehog and friends (and sometimes Eggman) team up to stop all sorts of bad guys (and sometimes Eggman) from taking over the world and interrupting their carefree and lazy days. Noted for involving many other series, while focusing primarily on the Sonic-verse, such as the Mario Series, Excel Saga, Card Captor Sakura, F-Zero, Rival Schools, Street Fighter, and many others. Also prevalent are the "commercials" between segments that have Eggman trying to appeal to the masses/selling off cheesy wares/having absolutely nothing to do with him. Currently on a hiatus.

  • Synopsis: What if Metal Sonic was not Metal Sonic, so much as the Terminator? He does not sleep, he does not eat, he does not get tired, he does not get bored... and for three weeks now, he has done nothing but relentlessly chase after Sonic. The blue hedgehog has managed to stay one step ahead of the machine thanks to his superior speed and cleverness, but he can't keep it up for much longer. One or the other is gonna have to go. The question is, which one?

Along the way, he will have to help Sonic's ghost confront his horrible memories, help Shadow overcome his guilt, and help himself deal with his feelings for his best friend and coworker, Blaze...


Sonic the Hedgehog: The Grind by Invader-Sam

  • Synopsis: A High School AU fic like very few others. Most of the cast is indeed in High School, but their powers are still intact, and Robotnik is still a villain at large. Sonic the Hedgehog starts a normal week, until he encounters transfer student Shadow Kintobor. After a fight that ends up with both of them making front page of the school newspaper and a Sunday's detention, Sonic meets Sally Acorn, the Mayor's Daughter, and decides to get back into the swing of dating by asking her out. It's Better Than It Sounds.

While struggleing to deal with this blow, Robotnik unearthes a deadly secret from Sir Charles' past, setting the stage for a full-fledged war that could ultimately decide the fate of Mobius itself.

Naturally, he doesn't have the money, so he tries to get some, and ends up as Cream the Rabbit's babysitter. All sorts of wacky events ensue, including getting a virus from eating pizza. I wish I could make something like that up.


The Kingdom Of Camelot by Luminous Blane.

The OMG most Orginal fanfic idea EVER

Sonic X Delta Arc by SX Delta

  • Synopsis: A continuation of Sonic X using some of the better ideas from Sonic Rush and '06 as a base. Silver and Blaze are sent to the past to stop the birth of Iblis. Things don't go as they planned, and the cast falls into the intricate traps of some mad villains from the future. Sadly, the story leaves many loose ends for a sequel that may never be written at this point.

  • Synopsis: Born into a world of war, growing up in the burnt down remnant of his home, Tails has lost everything with only the beast within as his companion. An older Tails must now fight to save the past with only the Wolf Pack at his side.


"Wonderland" by Draenog Glas

  • Synopsis: An AU fic, starring a teenage Sonic who wants a vacation from his rather hard to deal with life. So he goes to a mental hospital. Bright idea. Even brighter, considering he flipped out, and apparently stabbed a nurse in the neck with a syringe. Now he's stuck in a high security funny farm, with pyromaniacs, people on the brink of insanity, and a 1 out of 100 chance to get out. Unless he finds out what is with this hopsital before they all succumb to their respective insanities. Oh, and the backstories for the characters get chilling. Loaded with detail, amazing pacing, it's great. A bit heavy, but great.
