Basic Trope: A character gets a spanking, usually for some infraction.

  • Straight: Alex keeps sneaking into his big sister Karissa's room without permission. She eventually decides that she's had enough, so she puts the poor kid over her knee and spanks him.
  • Exaggerated: Betty spanks Alex for going into her room, then Charlie spanks Betty for spanking Alex, then Charlie's girlfriend Denise gets entirely the wrong idea about what's going on and spanks Charlie for playing sex games with another girl then Mr Edwards the games teacher catches Denise seemingly bullying Charlie, then Smash Cut to someone with the initial Z.
  • Justified: Alex was a brat and totally had it coming.
    • Spare the rod, spoil the child
  • Inverted: Alex puts Karissa over his knee and spanks her.
  • Subverted: Karissa puts Alex over her knee, but only scolds him.
  • Double Subverted:...Then spanks him.
  • Parodied: Alex is spanked ... With A Herring!
  • Deconstructed: Karissa is punished for taking matters into her own hands.
  • Reconstructed: The next time Alex is annoying, Karissa tells her mom. Alex is punished appropriately.
