• Ass Pull: Andross (not to mention every sequence that involved an Arwing) was thrown in at the last second, even though an entire fight sequence between the Fox character and Scales had been programmed, complete with dialogue already recorded. This is why his addition feels so out of place and tacked on.
• Base Breaker: Tricky and Krystal
• Broken Base: Star Fox fans are still debating on the game or of Krystal being responsible for Star Fox's decline in games that followed after this.
• Complete Monster: Through all of the characterization he gets, General Scales is never shown to be anything but pure evil. For example, when Fox shoots at him, his first instinct is to grab one of his own soldiers and use him as a shield. Even his soldiers are shown casually beating people like wild animals, including the Cloud-Runner queen and Tricky, who is a kid.
  • There's also Andross, who now just wants to destroy the Lylat System so that he can remake and conquer the entire galaxy afterwards.
• Contested Sequel: It is generally agreed that it isn't quite like Star Fox 64. Whether or not it's good in its own right is another matter entirely.
• Most Annoying Sound:
  • Most of Tricky's soundbites. "A bad guy!" "Look at this!" "I'm hungry!"
  • The screeching laughter of those swooping enemies.
• Narm: Oh, so very, very much.
  • "Nobodeh ever brings me gifts anymore!"
  • "You pay THIS much!"
  • Fox's rapid expression changes, when he gets an item.
  • Everything the Lightfoot dinosaurs say.

  • Depending on your skill, potentially the easiest, as this video aptly demonstrates. (4:35 to 4:54)
• That One Level: Let's see, there's the Krazoa Test of Fear which will make even the most patient gamers toss their controllers in a fit of rage, then the Lightfoot Test of Strength which only the most button-mashing-happy will have some chance of beating it the first time off (which ironically the reward of beating this will give you access to aforementioned Krazoa test), or the egg thieves (until you learn that the easy way to beat it is to use your Groundquake, which miraculously doesn't crush the very eggs you're supposed to protect).
• Viewer Gender Confusion: It's not uncommon to hear fans refer to the Shopkeeper as a "she". The character is actually male, but he has a voice that makes him sound like an old woman (which is actually provided by a man).
