Succubus Puttel

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Succubus Puttel is a H-game released by developer 62studio in 2017. It is the first game released by the group that isn't part of the Lust series.

Azreth is a boy living in a small rural village, and he has a decidedly unfortunate life. In the past, his parents were attacked and taken away by succubi. Because his father was a researcher of succubi, the other villagers believed that the attack was caused by his research, and they shunned Azreth as a result. Only Ella—a strange yet friendly woman who approached Azreth after the attack and became his older sister—treats him kindly.

One day, Ella disappears and succubi begin to take over the world. Azreth sets out in an attempt to find his sister... but will he succeed, or will he will he fall to the wiles of the succubi?

Tropes used in Succubus Puttel include:
  • Auto Revive: You get two free auto-revives each battle. The first one restores you to 50% of your maximum health, the second to a third of your maximum.
  • Battle Strip: You can do this with the Undress skill, and enemies automatically strip after taking some damage. This results in the Undress status effect, as noted under Full-Frontal Assault.
  • Becoming the Mask: A very spoilerrific example: Ella originally acted as Azreth's sister because her mother ordered her to, but she eventually grew to genuinely love him.
  • Buxom Is Better: As usual for a 62studio game, almost all of the succubi are incredibly busty.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: Several status ailments are this and these are occasionally inflicted by an enemy assuming a sexy pose.
  • Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors: An unusual variant, fitting the nature of the game. The elements are body parts of enemies: Hand, Foot, Mouth, Chest, Ass, and Pussy. Each enemy is vulnerable to dealt to particular parts of their body (hands and feet aren't targeted by any of your attacks), conversely, their attacks use specific body parts.
  • Full-Frontal Assault: Being naked is an actual status effect ("Undress"), increasing damage dealt and received and granting access to specific skills.
  • Grappling with Grappling Rules: Enemies can put you in a Hold, which lowers your damage, prevents you from fleeing and sometimes restricts other actions as well.
  • Healing Checkpoint: The chicken who acts as a save point has the ability to heal you, which also resets your Lust meter.
  • Horny Devils: Succubi make up the overwhelming majority of the characters, including all of the enemies. They have one feature that distinguishes them from other portrayals of succubi: immunity to conventional attacks, meaning that they can only be fought with sexual attacks.
  • Improbable Weapon User: You equip books as weapons and this somehow raises your offensive stats, despite all combat being sexual in nature.
  • It Amused Me: It turns out that this is the sole motivation of the main villain Bosewicht. She sent out the succubi to take over the world and had her own daughter act as the sister of Azreth purely because she found it fun.
  • Genius Bonus: Players with knowledge of fairy tales will be able to figure out that the title is a reference to Cinderella. The Brothers Grimm version of Cinderella is called "Aschenputtel", taken from the words "aschen" (meaning "ashes") and "puttel" (meaning "untidy or dirty girl"). The title of the game effectively gives away the fact that Ella is a succubus.
  • Multiple Endings:
    • Normal End Type A requires you to obtain the anti-succubus necklace (which requires completing a certain sidequest), but to not have completed the other prerequisites (viewing all seven crystals and reading Ella's letter). In the battle with Ella, you need to then spare her (an option only available if you have equipped the necklace). Azreth seemingly manages to persuade Ella to return home with him. However, this leads to Azreth dying and Ella walking away from the house, with the implication that she killed him.
    • Normal End Type B happens if you instead defeat Ella conventionally. She apologises and advises Azreth to live, then dies. Azreth returns to his house. While the world continues to be overrun by succubi, Azreth is safe inside his house's barrier... but then the camera pans to show a horde of succubi near his house.
    • The True End requires you to complete all three prerequisites (getting the necklace, viewing all seven crystals and reading Ella's letter) and then sparing Ella. It initially proceeds as in Normal End Type A, but then the two chickens appear. They reveal themselves to be the daughters of the succubus queen (and Ella's sisters), and plan to deal with Azreth themselves, killing Ella when she tries to stop them. Azreth confronts them and then their mother, Bosewicht, eventually defeating them. Bosewicht accepts her defeat and disappears. The credits roll, then Ella is shown briefly in front of Azreth's house.
  • Preexisting Encounters: Non-boss enemies walk around on the map and most pursue the player upon seeing them (a few follow preset paths), initiating battle on contact. Some have a word above their head which indicates that they are far stronger than others of their type.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Bosewicht, the succubus queen, and her three daughters Lina, Gina and Ella all play major roles throughout the game.
  • Sanity Meter: Like previous 62studio games, this has a Lust meter. Unlike previous games, it's represented by a bar that gradually fills up with pink as opposed to a percentage. High Lust causes enemy attacks to hit multiple times.
  • Save Point: A helpful talking chicken serves this role, appearing in various locations throughout the world. It's also possible to save in the menu, but this doesn't have the benefit of being healed that you get from talking to the chicken. After the chicken is revealed to be one of the major villains, she disappears, leaving behind sparkles of light in the same locations that serve the same function.
  • Seven Deadly Sins: There are seven bosses distributed throughout the game who are each associated with one of the sins. Each of them begins their battle by inflicting you with a sin-themed debuff: for example, Gula of Gluttony's debuff greatly reduces the damage you inflict until you eat something, essentially forcing you to be gluttonous.
  • Warp Whistle: There are two means of teleporting: Warp Scrolls (a consumable item) and the Teleport skill. Both of these allow you to teleport to a list of already-visited locations (usually towns).
