Coming back to this after three months, I am struck by how confusing the name is despite it being pretty much on target. It currently implies a trope with a much broader scope rather than being a parody of a specific, if ubiquitous, work. I think this trope would be better served by renaming it to "Love Is..." Parody.
"..." is definitely necessary.
