Thread for voting on this public domain image as page image. I, of course, support it as original suggester.
Talk:Archery
Voting aye.
Sure, why not?
Not what I had in mind when first thinking on the topic, but yes, it works.
Works for me, so I vote for the image.
I was thinking that Wikimedia Commons' icon for the Olympic sport of Archery might make an acceptable page image... until I actually saw it. Now I'm thinking I want opinions before adding it to the page.
Should we or shouldn't we? (If we don't, then the page stays as-is, without an image unless somebody else suggests one.)
Pinging the usual folks, but everybody is welcome to comment: @Agiletek @Bauerbach @Dominicmgm @GentlemensDame883 @H-Games~Documentation @HelljmprRookie @HeneryVII @Jlaw @Just a 1itt1e bit further @Kuma @Lequinni @RivetVermin @Tad Cipher @The23rdCamper @TheEric132 @Umbire the Phantom @Utini501 @Xemylixa @Labster @Looney Toons @GethN7 @Robkelk @QuestionableSanity @Derivative @SelfCloak
I think we should have something a bit more detailed. That's a good image for a lot of purposes, but it loses something at the size a page image needs to be.
I'm with Toons, that seems a little dull.
It would be good for a userbox, but agree, not ideal for a full page image.
Yeah no. Doesn't speak archery to me.
I think it's unanimous.
The page could still use an image... just not this one.
Yeah, I'm not immediately sure what could work for this, but given a while...
I'm sure Wikimedia Commons has a CC or PD image of medieval enactment featuring bow use.
Edit: More now PD illustrations were there than expected. I like this one.
Yeah that seems fine for the page.
I also quite like this and I'm voting that we use this instead. I don't really like any of the images I found while searching "archery" on wikimedia commons.
I was about to lock this thread... @ Agiletek, could you start a new one suggesting we use that image, please?
Sorry, having a busy week so I couldn't get to this earlier.
Not in favour of the pictogram, open to Agiletek's suggestion.
