Because "Tech" implies technology in virtually every other context, because Chrono Trigger is not the be-all and end-all of world culture that defines how everyone phrases things, and because we generally try to avoid using specific terms from specific works because they won't make sense to people who've never read/watched/played/whatever them. See our page Trope Namer Syndrome for why we don't do things like that any more, and why we tend to very open to renaming anything other than Tropes of Legend that still bears that kind of a name.

Because naming a trope after something from a single work unnecessarily narrows the scope of the trope.
Sorry, I didn't mean to be a bother, I just thought i would be cool and that people would think of the abbreviation more a technique rather than technology. Should have realized that sooner. I was just curious and I make sure not to question things like that.
