I am not so sure that "everybody got one" is correct. Even so, people who want to mention it could write on their user page would probably be a better place to put it, I think.

People like things and dislike other things, and no two people like and dislike exactly the same things. Thus, if people sort the big list of tropes in order of which ones they like better, each person will sort that list differently. That means everybody has a favorite trope, whether they know it or not, and somebody else's favorite might not be my favorite or your favorite.
EDIT: Which is a good thing. If everybody liked the same things, the world would be a boring place - I think.
