Real life conspiracy theories

Pretty much every conspiracy theory in this world has at least a bit of it. The weirder the theory, the more insane troll logic is inside. The only problem: Much of that insane troll logic is probably unintentional, the person talking nonsense is actually believing in it oftentimes. And in those cases where somebody intentionally spreads a fringe theory, it can be hard to distinguish from the honest believe of a crank. (Due to Poe's Law, even an obvious parody can be mistaken for a real conspiracy theory by some people.)

That looks like the beginning of an Analysis of the trope.

Well, this means I could name several examples of this in real life (think only e.g. the most ludicrous COVID-19 conspiracy theories), but they are questionable since most of them are not intentional in their twisted logic. Most people who support them really believe them.

Apart from larger scale conspiracy theories, some people also have their private ones regarding their families, friends, neighborhoods and so on. Probably in most (but not all) cases there are mental disorders involved when this happens. And unless they are joking, they are again seriously believing that their "evidence" is overwhelming.

One could also say that certain mental disorders like schizophrenia are prone to result in Insane Troll Logic, but again of an unintentional kind.
