Any objections?

GethN7 (talkcontribs)

Not from me.

Umbire the Phantom (talkcontribs)

Nothing that'd stop it launching, just some of the examples need a minor tweak.

Umbire the Phantom (talkcontribs)

Also tangential, but I'm thinking "Mons" would probably gel better as the name for a main trope. As indicated, that'd be a separate discussion, though.

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

No objection to launching the trope. We can probably also remove "Category:Pages needing more categories" while we're at it.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

And launched.

Well, Pokemon is the obvious example, in this case. Starting with the Poké Balls in the main series of the game, then you have the stuff that enables Mega-Evolution and Z-Moves. And the Ranger games have the characters using a device called an Styler (it's more like an remote-controlled top) to temporarily befriend wild Pokémon to help you clear environmental obstacles.

There's also that new Astral Chain video game, but that's less of an "friendship" thing and more of forciing an extradimensional to fight it's own kind...by using a chain and collar. (Yes, I know it's weird.)

Kuma (talkcontribs)

I would think that the machines in Astral Chain would work and I should have used the items from Pokemon but I wanted to try less popular before add those. Thanks for reminding me of those other devices from Pokemon.

Anyone familiar with Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir because I would say that the Miraculoues that allow Kwamis to be visible can while also giving their powers to human by transforming them into a superhero.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

Where's the device? I see a boy hanging from the top of the pic, and a dragon in the lower right, and nothing else. You need a better image, one that actually shows an example in use or up close.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

I just realized you had thumbnailed an animated gif, which just shows a single frame, and changed it to a different markup.... but my question stands. Where's the device? It's a pretty sequence, but it doesn't exactly highlight an example of the trope.

Kuma (talkcontribs)

Sorry, I was thinking of the results from the results rather than showing the device. I have found a new image to work with it.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

Oh yeah, that looks much better. Thanks!
