"No Real Life"

The "Fashion Industry" and "Porn" sections are most definitely real life, and the former does name names. I suggest removing the "no real life" examples (replacing it maybe with a note that this is not a page for drooling over individuals) and consolidating these two sections under "Real Life".

Concur. Just mention if they are marketed or deliberately play up the role of the trope in question and how without writing with one hand.

We inherited the request from TV Tropes - all I did in 2018 was put our template around the existing text.

Now that the page is being reviewed, I see the issue. I've already combined the two sections under a new Real Life section; I'll leave it up to others to add whatever disclaimer is appropriate and remove the template.

We really should review all of the "no real life" requests, and weed out the TVT control-freakery. EDIT: Don't assume I did that when I added the template - I was adding the template to a lot of pages at once and didn't have time to actually read the pages.

I disagree that the Porn section contains real life examples. Porn is just another genre of live-action fiction; even when a porn actor releases "candid footage" of himself, or makes public appearances, he's really just playing As Himself.

That's... not actually incorrect, yeah.

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

"Porn" as a subset of "Film - Live-Action", then? (I'm not aware of any live-action TV series that's porn, even on the cable channels, but I don't watch much cable.)

Umbire the Phantom (talkcontribs)

Depends, really. There's definitely stuff of that nature shown on like, HBO, Showtime and Cinemax, while I feel some other porn examples (in general, not specifically this page) would probably fit under Web Original.

Makes sense to me.
