Still looking for an answer on this - I recall @Robkelk said he'd personally make it a source subpage, and I'm looking to see if there's any other opinions or even policy on this.

Lequinni (talkcontribs)

I don't know the admins, but I prefer that the transcripts go to the show's wiki or to a different fansite. Transcripts of shows that are still on air may attract people who complaints of us hosting copyrighted material, and given our CC license I am not sure how acceptable that can be.

Umbire the Phantom (talkcontribs)

If that was the case, the Spongebob Wikia and every subtitler would've been sued out of existence already - and frankly there's no reasonable interpretation of copyright law that prevents someone from writing down what they hear from a given show and presenting it as such.

Just got done laying the foundation for a recent episode's recap, and I'm tempted to wonder: would it be alright for me (or anyone, ideally with the required savvy) to whip up a {{workrecapfooter}} template or something similar for sake of easier navigation/sane categorizing?

It should, but it's gonna need some tweaking to fit the medium (which you've gotten a start on, I noticed) as well as automatically adding that recap to the necessary categories.

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

That's the problem - the more I add category automation to a template, the less general it becomes.

Umbire the Phantom (talkcontribs)

Hmm... ideally it wouldn't even need that much - the minimum I'm thinking of is having a recap page on Foo be added to [[Category:Foo/Recap]], and maybe [[Category:Foo/Recap/S2]] or what-have-you.

The syntax of the links themselves should always be fixed to include punctuation and the like.

And I'm all in favour of increasing readability by adding dashes between story names, but that's a personal preference.

I usually do something along the lines of "Tropey the Wonder Dog/Recap/S1/E01 E02 Pilot"...

Umbire the Phantom (talkcontribs)

I'll probably just go with that then!

HeneryVII (talkcontribs)

I agree with Robkelk. Dashes to separate the names is a good idea.

Lequinni (talkcontribs)

Agreeing with Robkelk and Henery. Dashes for clarity is a good idea.

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

Throwing in my much-delayed agreement as well.

Umbire the Phantom (talkcontribs)

All done here, folks!

Umbire the Phantom (talkcontribs)

Just one question - should we retain the slashes between season and episode numbers (e.g., SpongeBob SquarePants/Recap/S1/E1) or merge them? I can easily do a quick find-and-replace if we're sticking with the former.

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

Please retain the slashes between the season number and the episode number(s). That makes it easier to automae grouping all of the episodes in a single season.

👌 Aye-aye.
