Talk:Talking to Themselves

I feel like there's a lot of room for confusion with this trope (conversations between two character with the same VA) and Talking to Themself (characters interacting and conversing with their own minds). I feel like the latter should be renamed to avoid this kind of confusion, and "Talking to Themselves" be repurposed as the name of this Trope. Any input/suggestions? EDIT: Tagged one more name I wanted to hear from.

I honestly don't feel strongly about it either way.

I agree that the two names are close enough to cause some confusion.

Do you have any suggestions as to what the replacement trope name should be?

How about renaming "Talking to Themself" to "Inner Dialogue", to parallel Inner Monologue?

Now that that's settled, I would also like to propose a move to the name "Talking to Themselves" as a more neutral name. This isn't as pressing in terms of say, alleviating potential confusion, but I think it would be good practice to reflect the ever-changing VA field.

A gender-neutral name for a gender-neutral trope does make sense.

Indeed, I just want a consensus on that before doing anything else.
