It's one of those Self-Demonstrating Articles, which usually have something wrong with them. In this case, it's an unclear definition with a whole bunch of intentional mojibake around it.
Also, we have a Real Life section which is full of marginal examples. The All the Tropes Will Ruin Your Vocabulary is equally bad. Look, encapsulation of meaning is what symbols (i.e. words) do. This is basic level linguistics. Talking about *that* as a trope is much, much more common than People Sitting on Chairs. "Hope" is one syllable in English and "esperanza" is four in Spanish -- and this is the very first random word I thought of so there must be thousands more. If we didn't have a word for glaive-guisarme, you'd have to say "a weapon on a long stick, with a blade at one end, but also a hook so you can pull foes off horses". But we do have that word, and every other word in the dictionary.
I think "used for humorous effect" needs to be part of the definition somewhere. Or at least made more obvious if it actually is in the definition somewhere. If we're gonna keep the "Tropese" thing, maybe use real trope example names like Zeerust or Narm in the description, too. Maybe I Don't Care What Happens to These People is the reverse, for "boring characters" in English.
