The Addams Family (1991 film)/Heartwarming

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • When the family is searching for Wednesday and Gomez finds her asleep in the crypt. Being careful not to wake her, Gomez gently picks her up and carries her back to the house.
  • As twisted and Crosses the Line Twice levels of Too Kinky to Torture Morticia and Gomez could be, you couldn't help but smile at scenes between them. All those years, and they're still passionately head over heels for each other.
  • While he was still Gordon at the time, when they do the seance and Gomez greets Fester at the door. He instantly recognizes him as his brother, has the widest smile on his face and greets him with a hug and a kiss. Throughout the movie it's been mentioned, that Gomez and Fester had an awful fight years ago, regarding the Amore twins, resulting in Fester leaving and Gomez feeling incredibly guilty. It was like he was given a second chance.
  • Morticia's relationship with Fester as Gordon. While she makes it clear that if Gordon is there to deceive them, the consequences will be catastrophic, she does everything she can to help Fester remember who he is. When she takes him on a tour of the Graveyard, on top of said threat of the Addam Creedo, she mentions all the Addams that have passed away. With special mention to Fester's pet vulture and his mother and father. Gordon on his part is partially afraid of being found out and feeling incredibly guilty for deceiving them. In the end when Tully and Margaret are interrogating Morticia, Fester tries not to participate. Even begging Margaret to stop and begging Morticia to talk so she won't get hurt. (Granted the Addams Family love torture, but it's still sweet none the less.) Morticia tries to break through to Fester, which seems to work before Gomez comes crashing in to rescue her. Throughout the end Morticia laments that all of this could have been avoided. Her relationship with Fester is best described, that while In-Law, she treats him like a loving brother none the less.

Morticia: -to Abigail- You're a desperate woman, consumed by greed and bitterness. We could have been such friends.
Morticia: -to Tully- Tully Alford. Charlatan, deadbeat, parasite. How Gomez adored you.
Tully: Well. Not enough.
Gordon/Fester: Morticia please.
Morticia: And dear Fester. Which is the real you? The loathsome underhanded monster you've become or the loathsome underhanded monster we came to love?
