Baron Zemo[edit | hide | hide all]

Baron Heinrich Zemo[edit | hide]

Baron Zemo EMH 8653.png

"I told you when we last met that this wasn't over, Captain. Now it is."

The original leader of HYDRA, Baron Heinrich Zemo was infected and disfigured by the experimental Virus X during a battle with Captain America. Surviving into the modern age with the help of the mad scientist Arnim Zola, he seeks to destroy Captain America, not only to gain vengeance, but to use the super soldier formula to cure his disease.

Voiced By: Robin Atkin Downes
First appearance: "Breakout, Part 1"
Member since: "Living Legend"

Iron Man: You sent Crimson Dynamo to die?!
Baron Zemo: Zat is what a team is for, yes?

  • Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: He even outplays Enchantress in this. In fact, he's so notorious for it that in "Assault on 42", Cap won't even bother letting him out of his cell like the other villains because he knows he'll back-stab him sooner or later.
  • Composite Character: He's the original Baron Zemo, but his costume and skills are taken from his son, Helmut.
  • Expressive Mask
  • The Faceless
  • Find the Cure: A villainous version, and he brought it on himself anyway.
  • Gun and Sword
  • Master Swordsman
  • Mythology Gag: His appearance in a flashback in "Living Legend" is his costume from his first appearance in the comics.
  • Nazi Nobleman
  • Real Men Wear Pink: He wears an initially unintimidating shade of purple, along with spotted fur on his collar and boots. But he's just as manly and badass as any good arch-supervillain.
  • Revenge Before Reason: He would rather stick to his meager funds and help from Zola to get direct revenge on Captain America than bring the full force of Hydra to bear upon him.
    • Abomination called him out on it as well, thinking that while Zemo was feeding his ego, they could have simply killed the Avengers, thus making things easier down the road. Zemo didn't listen.
  • Stupid Jetpack Hitler
  • Tactical Withdrawal: Knows when it's time to leave a battle with the Avengers in order to fight another day.
  • The Starscream: A partial example. He and Amora were Co-Big Bads within the Masters of Evil, but near the end, he took control of her (via Red Skull's technology), in order to have the Norse monsters at his command.
  • Would Hit a Girl

Enchantress[edit | hide]

Amora, the Enchantress[edit | hide]

Amora the Enchantress EMH 7978.png

An Asgardian sorceress who uses black magic to manipulate others. She acts in service to Loki, and her faithful servant is the axe-wielding Executioner. She is also desperately in love with Thor, but he rejects her, thus her motivation for killing him. She, Executioner, and Baron Zemo were the founding members of the Masters of Evil. Later she was captured and possessed by Surtur as his servant and leader of his army.

Voiced By: Kari Wahlgren
First appearance: "Thor the Mighty" (Micro-Episode: "The Isle of Silence")
Member since: "Living Legend"

  • Art Evolution: Her character design underwent a few changes in between her first appearance in "Thor the Mighty" (the part comprising the Micro-Episode "The Isle of Silence"), and her reappearance six episodes later.
  • Betty and Veronica: The Veronica to Jane Foster's Betty (and the two share the same voice actress even!)
  • Blondes Are Evil
  • Brainwashed And Crazier: As a minion of Surtur.
  • Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: She was going to do this to the Masters, but Zemo beat her to it and put her under mind control. This caused her to eventually launch a Roaring Rampage of Revenge.
  • Dark Magical Girl
  • The Dragon: To Loki.
    • Then unwillingly to Surtur.
  • Eviller Costume Switch: Her outfit after being taken over by Surtur. It's red and black, is much more revealing, and bears a spiked collar and demon-horned headdress.
  • Femme Fatal
  • Foe Yay: Invoked With Thor.
  • Hot Witch
  • Long Hair Is Feminine
  • Love Makes You Evil: Her motive for all the evil things she does is to try and get Thor to be with her.
  • Manipulative Bitch: tricked Hulk into fighting the Avengers by posing as his Bruce Banner alter ego to convince him they saw him as a monster. Later, she helped Zemo creating the Master of Evil, planning to use them as pawns for Loki's plan.
    • You could also probably count Skurge in this too, since she's likely manipulating him with her feminine wiles as in the comics.
  • Most Common Superpower
  • Oh Crap: Her reaction when Hulk comes back from fighting the Frost Giants, victorious.
    • She has a much more serious one when she finds herself in Surtur's domain.
  • Playing with Fire: Gains these after becoming a thrall of Surtur.
  • Rapunzel Hair
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Against the Masters of Evil (specifically Zemo).
  • Shapeshifting
  • Stripperific: After her possession by Surtur.
  • Teleporters and Transporters: While far from her only power, it's one she gets a lot of mileage out of in combat, popping all over the battlefield to avoid being directly attacked.
  • Villainesses Want Heroes: Even provides the page image.
  • Woman Scorned: Especially in "The Ultron Imperative".
  • Yandere: To Thor.
  • You Have Failed Me...: a non-lethal example; after Loki failed in the chance she granted him to take revenge on Thor, she leaves him again in his jail to be tortured by the giant snake. Pretty ironical if you consider the fact she was fearing Loki would pull out a similar treatment on her after her failure in the Masters of Evil.

Executioner[edit | hide]

Skurge, the Excecutioner[edit | hide]

Skurge the Executioner EMH 2862.png

Amora's silent and faithful bodyguard.

First appearance: "Thor the Mighty" (Micro-Episode: "The Isle of Silence")
Member since: "Living Legend"

Wonder Man[edit | hide]

Wonder Man/Simon Williams[edit | hide]

Wonder Man EMH 2723.png

Giant Man "Simon! I'm glad to see you up and about, but what are you doing with these people? You're a good man. You don't want any part of this!"
Simon AKA Wonder Man: "I don't have any choice. They're the only reason I'm even alive. And if I want to stay alive, I do what they say!"

A scientist and industrialist, Simon Williams found his company being bought out by Stark Enterprises. Thinking Tony Stark wanted to ruin his life, he gave into his brother, Eric's (aka the Grim Reaper) temptations, and allowed himself to be transformed into a being of ionic energy by MODOC and A.I.M.. With his new found power, he attacked Tony Stark, only for his body to end up dissipating before he could be saved. However, he was revived by the Enchantress's magic, in exchange for helping to destroy the Avengers.

Voiced By: Phil LaMarr
First appearance: "Everything is Wonderful"
Member since: "Everything is Wonderful"

  • Anti-Villain: Type II.
  • Energy Being
  • Flying Brick
  • Genius Bruiser: An inventor who can fight the Avengers to a standstill.
  • Gone Horribly Right: His transformation only succeeded because one of MODOC's mental bolts struck the beam being used on him, changing the variables.
  • Heel Face Turn: Finally ditches Zemo and his group during "Acts of Vengeance".
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Sacrifices himself, to destroy the Norn stone wielded by Zemo.
  • Necessarily Evil: The only reason he's with the Masters of Evil is because he thinks they are keeping him alive. He doesn't want to be a villain otherwise. (Unless it involves attacking Tony Stark).
  • Revenge Before Reason: He's willing to let MODOC experiment on him just to get back at Stark.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: In "This Hostage Earth", Black Panther convinces him that his is a lost cause, considering who he works for, and the fact Earth is on the brink of being invaded by Loki's forces, and Wonder Man deserts the battle.
  • Sizeshifter
  • Token Good Teammate: He's the only one that isn't overly murderous or manipulative, and he's blackmailed onto the team.
  • Tragic Villain

Crimson Dynamo[edit | hide]

Crimson Dynamo/Ivan Vanko[edit | hide]

Dynamo EMH 6049.png

Abomination[edit | hide]

Abomination/Emil Blonsky[edit | hide]

Abomination EMH 1718.png

"I'll always beat you Hulk. I'm better than you in every way!"

A British soldier who succumbed to gamma radiation to become a monstrous supervillain. He was imprisoned at The Cube until the breakout, and went on to work for the Leader. He later was recruited in the Masters of Evil.

Voiced by: Robin Atkin Downes
First appearance: "Hulk vs. The World" (Micro-Episode: "This Monster, This Hero")
Member since: "Gamma World, Part 2"

Arnim Zola[edit | hide]

Arnim Zola[edit | hide]

"I am the finest bio-engineer on the planet, and over the years I have learned one important thing. Every problem has a solution."

A geneticist, Arnim Zola served as a scientist for HYDRA. Surviving into the modern day as an enormous, bizarre hybrid of man and machine, he continued to serve Baron Zemo, helping him transform his body and survive the affects of Virus X. Once incarcerated in the Big House, he is now free to unleash his creations upon the world again. He serves as the resident non-combatant scientist for the Masters of Evil.

Voiced By: Grant Moninger

  • Cephalothorax: Except his face is just a computer screen. He has no real flesh body, only a digitized mind that he can transfer into his robot body.
  • Evilutionary Biologist
  • Dangerously Genre Savvy: Partially subverted. When the Enchantress hunts down the Masters of Evil, she overpowers and nearly kills all of the ones she finds. When she gets to Zola, he reveals that he knew she hunted all of them down, and he wouldn't cut deal with her because he knew she'd just try to kill him anyway (he also suspects, rightly so, she and the Executioner murdered the Grey Gargoyle). He also set a trap using the Doughboy, and catches the two. The subversion comes when they break out of the trap. Things went down hill for him.
  • Genetic Engineering Is the New Nuke
  • Killed Off for Real: It's implied. Iron Man does not say that Zola is necessarily alive, as he did for Chemistro and Living Laser.
  • Mad Scientist
  • Mobile Suit Human
