12 years ago… the great Gold Rogers, king of the pirates died, executed by the Marines, right before he died, he told those were listening that they would have to search the world for his treasure… One Piece it started Gold Age of Pirates. 4 years ago… in the village of Fuchsia, the strongest of the Biju, the Kyubi: The 9 tailed fox attacked. The one who saved them was a mysterious nameless hero, known only as the 4th Hokage… however the only way to stop it was sealing it into a baby… he asked the family of a newborn baby if he could do this, which they reluctantly agreed to. He sealed the demon into the baby and his final wish was for this small village to see him as a hero… sadly only the baby's family and a few villagers saw him as such… the others saw him as the demon…the mayor made it illegal to talk about the demon within the child will never know about it… then something happened one day… —The opening lines

The Biju Biju Fruit is a fanfic written by Emma Iveli and is (probably) the longest running One Piece/ Naruto crossover on Fanfiction.net. The story is a retelling of One Piece with Naruto characters inserted into many roles (occasionally replacing One Piece characters).

Monkey D. Luffy and Fox D. Naruto are brothers who live in Fuchsia Village. One day Luffy ate the Gum Gum Fruit while Naruto ate The Biju Biju Fruit Model: Kyubi. However should the eater of a Biju Bju Fruit have the demon sealed within them it will have different effects than those that hadn't, it was because of this Naruto learned of the fearsome (and perverted) demon within him. 10 years later Luffy and Naruto begin their quests to become Pirate King (Luffy) and a Kage (Naruto). A Kage is the greatest of all clone users a type of fighting style that allows one to multiply themselves many ways. Along their way they gain a crew consisting of: former bounty hunters Roronoa Zoro and Uchiha Sasuke, thieves Nami and Sakura, sons of a pirate they once knew Usopp, Kiba and Kiba's dog Akamaru, chef Sanji, assistant chef Ino, Luffy and Naruto's childhood friend Hinata, Chopper a talking reindeer human, Gaara a fellow demon host who didn't know what love was until Naruto got though to him, Nico Robin a mysterious woman and Isaribi, a girl who was experimented on to turn into a strange half human, half fish hybrid

• All Just a Dream: Double Subversion during the Gaara fight, When Naruto wakes up after being knocked out by Gaara, he says that he had the strangest dream he was fighting Gaara. Kyubi points out he is fighting Gaara, but Naruto says in his dream he was wearing an orange jump suit, riding a giant toad and was a ninja.
• All of the Other Reindeer: Naruto and Chopper become fast friends due to their mutual past of being outcasts
• Alternate Character Interpretation: In this story Kyubi is a sarcastic pervert who seems to generally care for Naruto.
• Arc Fatigue: The Story have been stuck in the Alabasta Arc for quite some time, one of the most common reviews nowadays is along the line of "Please just skip ahead! I'm tiried of this arc!".
  • She got the message and plowed through the last part of the arc by omitting the last two Luffy fights.
• Are You Pondering What I'm Pondering?: In Nami and Sakura's introduction chapter, while coming up with a plan with dealing with Luffy, Nami goes "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Sakura jokingly replies "I think so, but where would we get enough cheese?"
  • Sakura was really thinking what Nami thinking to be clear.
• Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: Naruto's reasons for hating Neji in chapter 40 ends with "He stole Mr. Fuzzybottom".
• The Artifact: If you read the description of the story, the plot it describes ends at Chapter 40, chapter 41 onwards they're in the Grand Line no longer searching for crewmates.
• Ascended Fanboy: Naruto's a Kage fanboy when it comes down to it and every time he's fought along side one he's made an impression on them, implying he's closer to his dream.
• Brick Joke: Mr. Fuzzybottom was mentioned in chapter 40 as the main reason for hating Neji and is not mentioned for 45 chapters until chapter 85 where not only do we learn what Mr. Fuzzybottom was (Naruto's cherished childhood toy) but also it's fate, causing Naruto to cry out for his beloved toy.

• Cool and Unusual Punishment: While Naruto was having second thoughts about fighting Gaara, Kyubi threatened to sing "You are a Pirate" if he didn't fight. After Naruto thought he was bluffing he sang part of the song, Naruto gave up right away.
• Crack Pairing: One sided Anko/Zoro... it sounds okay when you think about, but the attraction is based on the fact that Zoro can lose pints of blood that would kill a normal person.
• Crossover Punchline: Chapter 18 has three alternate endings in which Kakashi removes his mask. In the last when he removes his mask it rewrites reality in which he, Naruto, Luffy, Ino and Sanji are... The Sailor Senshi!
• Deadpan Snarker: Sasuke and Kyubi.
• Disproportionate Retribution:Naruto wouldn't stop looking at the cross dressing Igaram in the Whisky Peak Arc despite Kyubi's pleas to look away. In the Little Garden Arc, Kyubi strikes back, when he accidentally possessed Naruto, he made it seem like Naruto was a pervert by squeezing Miss Valentines' breast, making him look like a pervert and having Naruto's body take a beating...
• Doorstopper: As of chapter 139, it is over 1,000 pages.
• Double Agent: Mr 6 and Ms Mother's Day AKA Kabuto and Tayuya
• Dirty Old Man: Does a demon that lived hundreds of years and is sealed inside a teenager count?
  • Also Jirayra, while haven't appeared since chapter 1, still writes Make-Out Paradise.
• Dropped a Bridge on Him: Zabuza in Chapter 1... which Emma Iveli regrets.
• Goofy Print Underwear: It's revealed in Chapter 11 that Klahadore/Kuro wears underwear with cats on them.
• Eaten the MacGuffin: Played with during the Snow Island Arc (the one based on the first Naruto movie) where Luffy gets rid of the arc's MacGuffin... by eating it. It is later retrieved though use of ipecac.
• Ensemble Darkhorse: Kyubi seems to be popular with readers.
• Fan Disservice: Althoguh only mentioned in passing, chapter 102 gave us all a horrible mental image: Kimimaro in drag!

• Flanderization: Kyubi's perversion was relatively minor in the early chapters, it has since become one of his defining traits.
  • Lampshaded in chapter 121, much of the chapter is a flashback. In the flashback Kyubi makes a comment about Nami being kind of hot. It cuts out of the flashback to Naruto thinking that Kyubi somehow seemed less perverted.
• Foreshadowing: In the Laboon Arc Naruto comes up with a theory that one of Laboon's friends is alive... as a walking, talking skeleton! The real kicker though is that Sasuke promises to walk around naked if it's true. Needless to say a lot of people are looking forward to when Sasuke finds out.
• Filler: So far there is one filler arc in the form of the Chidori Scroll Arc, it's only filler in name only as the events of the arc play an important role in the story.
• Genre Savvy: Orochimaru, when he talks to the Kazekage about the Will of D
• Ho Yay: It's heavily implied (if not outright stated) that Orochimaru and Kimimaro are lovers.
• I Lied: Orochimaru when he killed the Kazekage
• Improbable Weapon User: Anko's choice of weapon when not using her clones is kabob skewers... She's so skilled in using them that she can castrate someone...
• In Spite of a Nail: Most of the arcs end up the same as they were just with extra characters effecting it.
• Moment Killer: In chapter 113, after the fight with Gaara, Naruto is about to confess his love to Hinata when Kiba interrupts up him by shouting "Just shut up and kiss already" ruining the moment and alerting them that many members of the crew were watching them. However unlike most, Kiba is punished by Shipper on Deck Ino.
• Mushroom Samba: Naruto too eats that cactus, instead of a tsunami, he a sees a "space coyote" that tells him to find his soul mate.
• Naughty Tentacles: In the past Kyubi would goad Hachibi into picking up "innocent maidens" with his tails... think about that one for a second.
• Ninja Pirate Robot Zombie: Naruto is a shape shifting kitsune hanyo pirate that can multiply himself.
• Noodle Incident: The "unspeakable acts to male marines" that Anko did to earn her bounty... well... other than castrating them with a kabob skewer.
  • Whatever happened the first time Lee got drunk is unknown. But it was so bad that it made Hinata go into the fetal postion.
• Odd Name Out: The members of the Usopp pirates are: Pepper, Onion, Carrot and Konohamaru... take a guess which one is from Naruto...
• Older Than They Look: Tsunade, but in this version it's a clone she inhabits to make herself look younger.
• Only Sane Man: Sasuke, he's the only one who seems to be aware that not only they shouldn't put Zoro in charge of the ship at any time but also he should not trust his backpack to Luffy.
• Real Life Writes the Plot: When the story first came out Pluto was declared a Dwarf Planet, in Chapter 2 Kyubi calls Alvida one due to her weight.
• Strange Minds Think Alike: After Naruto head-butts Gaara in order to wake him up. Both Kiba and Kankuro make a "Using his head" comment, while they were both watching the fight, they weren't near each other when they made the comments.
• Somewhere a Palaeontologist Is Crying: A mixture of parody and lampshading during the Little Garden Arc.
• Shipper on Deck: Sakura and Ino agree that they must get Naruto and Hinata together.
• The Movie: Another fanfic written by someone else with Emma Iveli's permission. Retells the first One Piece movie.
• Took a Level in Badass/ Took a Level In Dumbass: Naruto did this both in a single chapter: Naruto while fighting Arlong, not only comes up with a clever ruse to make him seem weaker but delivers a speech about whether or not he is human... a speech he ends with "every time you call me human I have to resist the urge to hug you"... a couple paragraphs later, he does so...
• Trademark Favorite Food: Naruto and his ramen, Luffy and his meat.
• Trauma-Induced Amnesia: When Ino was young, she ate a Devil Fruit meant to her father, her mother left her father taking Ino with her. The ship she was on was attacked by pirates then sunk in a storm, she managed to survive, but lived on a rock for who knows how long without food... All at a young age! It's no wonder why she lost her memories.
• Wham! Episode: Chapter 113 ends with Inoichi taking the bullet for Kohza and Ino somehow sensed something happened to her long lost father... Needless to say the Alabasta Arc will end differently.
• Will They or Won't They?: Naruto and Hinata, so much they have shippers in the form of Ino and Sakura.
• Word of God: Emma Iveli regrets dropping a bridge on Zabuza in the first chapter and realizes it was an extremely stupid move.
