  • Moe Moe: The girl managed to be ridiculously popular among fans, and was even featured in early fanworks and doujinshi, and sometimes even said to be the first "moe" character.
    • This is something Miyazaki despises. As a self avowed feminist, he thought that the concept of Moe to be a terrible fetish that devalue females. Which gave this film an Misaimed Fandom.
      • The term "moe" didn't appear until about 20 years after the film's release, so that's not really the case here, is it?
