These are recommendations made by Tropers for Fan Fics, all of which have been signed. After a few samples, you will be able to judge whether you might be interested in the 'fic, based on who recommended it. No-name recommendations will be Zapped (wiki). Nobody would back up the rec. Discussion of the recommendation is welcome on the discussion page. As such discussion is important, do remember to add the discussion page to the watchlist, if need be.

Do warn when a fanfic may head into homosexual or non-canon territory. Some people just don't like it, and as we all know, Shipping is Serious Business.

Status guide:

• Complete: Exactly What It Says on the Tin.
• Ongoing: The fic is being updated on a regular basis, or has received an update after a significant absence.
• Dormant: The fic has not been updated in a fairly long time (several months to a year or more) but the author has not pronounced it dead.
• Dead: The fic has not been updated in several years, or the author has specifically said that it will not be updated.

Note: Fics listed as Dormant or Dead will be changed to Ongoing if/when they receive updates. If you see a rec with a blank status, and you're familiar with the fanfic, please add the correct status.

• Lirenel has a beautiful way with words and with the characters. Particularly good ones include Easter Whisperings, Christmas Whisperings and Terror Gold but any and all of her works are marvelously written.

General Fics

Stories focused on the family and the friendly relationships of the cast. Plot-focused stories or light day-in-the-life stories. Pretty much anything that isn't focused on romance.

• Synopsis: A Fix Fic of the highest caliber for Susan Pevensie, who, after the death of her siblings in The Last Battle, decides enough is enough already, and takes her fate into her own hands.

Then a Christmas present and a dream bring renewed meaning to her shattered life. A moving fic which provides a less, well, horrific response to Neil Gaiman's "The Problem of Susan".

• Synopsis: An ongoing series, but each story is complete and there are no cliffhangers. Movie-canon. The series offers an amazing look at what it would mean to have the memories of feudal warrior-kings and -queens, but inside a young body in mid-20th Century England.

• Synopsis: Back in England Susan grows up being reasonable rather than silly. But the course of history has already shifted and the Pevensie children are doomed to their train wreck. Aslan grants Susan a second chance at the life she never had in Narnia.

• Synopsis: Oneshot, another way of answering "The Problem of Susan". Or, in the author's words: "[a]n attempt to reconcile movie canon with book canon, and also to clear up a few distressing aspects of the latter." Highly recommended.

Kings Love by Mel Blue 1

• Status: Complete, part of ongoing series
• Pairings: Caspian/Edmund
• Synopsis: Bookverse. A slashy version of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. This is hands down the best Edmund/Caspian fic I've read, as it delves in detail into the emotions and convictions of the characters, emphasizing their difficulty to communicate. It is very in-character, and the author isn't afraid to show their internal conflicts rather than injecting external angst. The emphasis on age difference may not appeal to all. Long.

• Synopsis: Susan Pevensie met the Doctor three times in the course of her life—once in a cemetery, once in her attic, and once after the death of her siblings. The third time she did not refuse the call—and her companionship led the Doctor to a place he'd never been before.
• Comments: A beautiful story with an uplifting ending. Especially noteworthy for a wonderful idea I've never seen anywhere else—a notebook stashed away in the Companions' quarters of the TARDIS, entitled The Care and Feeding of your Doctor, containing decades' worth of hand-written observations and advice about the Doctor from those closest to him. (Looney Toons)
