The Cleveland Show/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Kendra sits on her Rascal most of the time, but there are a few times when she's used her legs when there's food around. Is she just lazy or does the desire for food temporarily make her mobile?
  • Dude, Not Funny: At least one gag per episode will have someone going this. C'mon, it's by Seth MacFarlane. You can only expect as much.
  • Ear Worm: The theme song will stay in your head for days after you watch it.
    • Let's not forget "I'm talkin' 'bout Balls Deep..."
  • Fridge Brilliance: Junior's sudden weight gain? He was always eating the amount he presently does, but due to his hyperactivity, he simply managed to burn off all of that weight. If he's now taking medication which caused his symptoms to diminish and stops him running around like he used too, he naturally put it on.
  • Ho Yay: Junior's love for his father.
    • One episode has Junior sending an MMS of himself, lying naked in a flower, to his father.
  • It's the Same, Now It Sucks: Some viewers have accused the show of this when compared to Family Guy.
  • Magnificent Bastard: Cleveland Junior's revenge on his dad in "The Curious Case of Jr. Working at The Stool," Which included:

Gradually trimming Cleveland's mustache.
Substituting the gang's beers with non-alcoholic, nearly provoking a brawl between the four.

  • Moral Event Horizon: After Rallo almost drowns and blackmails Cleveland for it, Cleveland dunks Rallo's head in the pool twice just so Rallo would stop bossing him around.
    • Principal Wally nearly burning Cleveland's old jersey and calling Junior a "chubby loser". Everyone gasped!
    • Rallo playing pranks on his family. He even got Junior kicked out of scouts.
  • Squick: Coach Charles McFall, who had his right cheek removed after years of chewing tobacco.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: In the season one finale, there could have been a touching scene where Donna comforts Cookie when Cleveland's father didn't show up in their second wedding.
    • And the ep "Cleveland Live!" could've been more funny, as the example on the page says.
  • What an Idiot!: Roberta's friends have no idea that Mrs. Tubbs is her mom, even though Donna talked to her like a mom right in front of them and they share the same last name. It's not made clear whether her boyfriend Federline, who has been to their home multiple times, is aware that Donna is Roberta's mom and is just playing along with Roberta's lie or he's just that dumb.
  • The Woobie: Jr. all the way. He used to be hyperactive and outgoing and now he is obese and shy after his parents went through a divorce.
