- Fan Nickname: When the initial trailer came out, some fans began affectionately referring to Cole's transport, the Dark Train, as Ganontrain.
- I Knew It!: On the Wild Mass Guessing page for the Zelda series, someone suggested that Zelda would be an Exposition Fairy ghost, controlling the Phantoms. This was posted weeks before it was revealed to be official fact. This was somewhat helped by the fact that the second piece of official artwork that was leaked (the European boxart) shows Zelda drawn in pale colours, which encouraged the theory.
