  • The Machinist was mostly noted for the extreme method acting and weight loss of Christian Bale, but one of the small touches that impressed me was that in some of the scenes (notably the one where Trevor drifts off momentarily in his car and is awoken by Ivan) the colors are over-contrasted and bleached out. Anyone who has ever undergone serious sleep deprivation will know that this is a common symptom, especially after closing the eyes for a short period of time. - Slave
