The Pee-wee Herman Show on Broadway

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

The Pee-wee Herman Show on Broadway was a 2011 theater revival of Paul Reuben's character Pee-Wee Herman, bringing the character full circle to the more adult theme of the original act. Pee-Wee is back in the playhouse with all his friends once again.

Tropes used in The Pee-wee Herman Show on Broadway include:
  • Allergic to Love: Curtis can't breathe and freaks out and runs away any time Ms. Yvonne is mentioned.
  • Audience Participation: The secret word.
    • "I said 'guess what boys and girls!'"
    • "Mecca lecca hi, mecca hiney ho."
  • Big No: Pee-Wee lets out one that lasts almost a minute as he runs around the stage.
  • Bill, Bill, Junk, Bill: Pee-Wee sorts through the mail this way looking for his letter from the inventor's society "Junk, junk, jury duty, junk..."
  • Butt Monkey: Chairry and Pee-Wee to each other.
  • Buxom Is Better: Ms. Yvonne refers to the "two most important things a girl should have" and appears to point at her boobs before she lists them as fashion sense and make-up skills.
  • By the Lights of Their Eyes: After the computer cord gets pulled and knocks out the electricity.
  • Cannot Keep a Secret: Pee-Wee is just bursting to tell Cowboy Curtis Ms. Yvonne's secret. He did warn her though.

Ms. Yvonne: "Pee-Wee, can you keep a secret?"
Pee-Wee: "No."

Pee-Wee:"What? You know I hate mute characters!"
