  • Cliché Storm: Possibly due to the sheer amount of overused tropes in the work.
  • Draco in Leather Pants: Blonde, arrogant young evil wizard with a British accent? Who's actually wearing Leather Pants? Whose name is Drake! Considering that Drake didn't seem to relish the idea of killing children to take over the world and didn't really do anything all that evil, this is one of the more plausible cases...
  • Evil Is Sexy: Drake Stone, although he's only partially evil. Like, maybe, sixty percent evil? Still hot, though.
  • Fan-Preferred Couple: Fangirls just want to tear apart Dave/Becky for Dave/Drake.
  • Foe Yay: Isn't the part where Drake picks Dave up and makes that little comment about his weight a tad suggestive? And let's not forget RIGHT AFTER Drake is done harassing Dave, Horvath corners Dave, and then calls him sweetheart.

Horvath: Oh, sweetheart... you've put your faith in the wrong man. Tell me, have you ever been in love? You're in love right now, I can see it in your eyes!

  • Narm: "I brought some science with me!" Dr. Insano would be SO PROUD.
  • Nightmare Fuel: When the dancers inside the Chinese dragon get stuck inside when it transforms into a real dragon.
  • The Woobie: Dave, to a certain extent. Especially at the beginning of the movie.
