More or less a text-based abridging of Gundam Seed Destiny, made by MikePriest83 on Deviantart. It tells, over the course of a number of chapters and Recap Episodes, most of the ridiculous events of the series while aiming to go Up to Eleven. The story condenses much of the series that is generally not good enough to be milked for humor, mainly because it was still good at that point. The series is rife with Alternate Character Interpretation and at the same time gleeful Canon Defilement, if only for the sake of it being funnier that way.

The story surprisingly still stays pretty true to the events of the anime, albeit with a few more embellishments to make things funnier along the way, such as Luna's horrendous marksmanship and the hax that is Kira Yamato. The series ended with a Reunion Show followed by Kira, Athrun, Luna, and Shinn meeting the Gundam Meisters and then fighting them for no reason before finally ending with The Movie.

Tropes used in The Typical Gundam SEED Destiny include:
  • Action Girl: Lunamaria after she annihilates Lockon in a fight and gets the Destiny Impulse.
  • Affably Evil: Durandal goes into overdrive with this, even putting off orders to have guards kill Athrun simply so he could invite him to a banquet in his honor. Plus any time he gives someone a puppy.
  • All Just a Dream: The Movie. Or Was It a Dream?
  • Back from the Dead: Besides the canon instances, Flay for one scene and Rau possesses Lacus in the movie
  • Battle Couple: Shinn and Luna. Luna even has a dog-whistle to blow when she's in trouble. Somehow Shinn can hear it.
  • Big Bad: Reflecting the flame wars surrounding the series, Lacus starts showing more and more traits as the series goes on, reaching its apex in The Movie. Turns out the worst of her villainy was due to Rau's ghost possessing her though.
  • Brown Note: Inverted. If anyone finds out that Andy piloted the Gaia Gundam, they are so utterly amazed they have to gush about how smart the idea is.
  • Butt Monkey: Saji. In one scene he gets more abuse than most of the other characters get in the entire series.
  • Can't Catch Up: Subverted oh so hard. In Episode 7 Luna makes up for fifty episodes of lost time by catching up and then blowing past Kira, Athrun and Shinn.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Lacus tries so damn hard to have Kira reciprocate her feelings. She succeeds once. And then Flay came back to life and Kira runs back to her arms again.
  • Close-Call Haircut: Shinn accumulates a bit of a beard after being held captive for three months in The Movie. He loses it all when he narrowly and casually evades a ZAKU's axe. On foot.
  • Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: They're not called "Athrun Zala-patented side-switches" for nothing.
  • Cool Old Guy: Subverted with Andy. The few times he's around in the series, he's pretty much the most level-headed guy there is. Except nobody pays attention to him. In the movie, he works for Lacus.
  • Dropped a Bridge on Him: Happens to Maude from Gundam Seed Destiny Stargazer repeatedly, along with the entire Gundam X cast, Bernie, and the Shrike Team in the Reunion Show.
  • Easy Amnesia: Cagalli forgets all her character development when she bangs her head early on.
  • Faux Action Girl: Played straight with Luna, just to a ridiculous degree. Then Lockon stands perfectly still and lets Luna shoot him once and everything changes.
  • Flash Back: Even at the start, people were flashing back and remembering events they weren't even present for. Shinn even anguishes at one point that all his flashbacks are about Kira's past rather than his own.
  • Full-Name Basis: The Gundam Meisters, even more than before.
  • Easily Forgiven: The angriest that Durandal gets when Athrun, Kira, and Talia accidentally shoot him is just wanting it to stop happening because it's not funny.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Kira realizes something's up with Lacus when he finally meets her in the movie and realizes she's acting too evil for even her own standards
  • Expy: An elaborate question is raised at several points about who the "Char" of the series is. Athrun, Rey, Rau, and Mu are all potential candidates. Turns out they're all wrong. Durandal confesses on his deathbed that he was the Char.
  • Gag Boobs: Meer's are awesome enough that Mu will abandon all concept of safety if it means getting to them quicker.
  • Get a Hold of Yourself, Man!: Bright goes ballistic on Saji for pretty much no reason. Wong goes even further
  • Ho Yay: Oh Graham...

Ha-HA! Suffer my tender embrace, Gundam!.

  • He Who Must Not Be Heard: In the movie, Rusty literally cannot speak; whenever he does, he inexplicably dies.
  • Idiot Ball: EVERYONE, just not all at the same time. It later gets explained everyone from the original Gundam Seed contracted "Destiny Indecisive Morons Building Up Lots of fan-Bitching" Syndrome. Cagalli contracted it first, but as a result recovered quicker.
  • Killed Off for Real: In the movie, Yzak, Dearka, Cagalli, Athrun, Lacus, and possibly Kira and Meyrin.
  • Lensman Arms Race: Inverted. The Movie takes place in CE 80, but some characters actually remark that the new machines are really just dolled-up versions of the old ones.
  • Marshmallow Hell: Kira becomes insanely jealous when Meer holds the Pink Haro to her breasts. and then it explodes and kills her.
  • Meaningless Meaningful Words: Kira spouts total bullshit in his fight against Rey. And it works. In the movie his speeches actually have some meat to them, however.
  • Merchandise-Driven: To the point that the movie was possibly just an advertisement for Amur-Os.
  • Mid-Season Upgrade: Due to the source material, this happens a lot. Then subverted in the movie since most of the new machines are just recolors made shinier.
  • New Powers as the Plot Demands: Durandal and Lacus both do ridiculous things and chalk them up to Coordinator super-powers, which Athur regrets not having.
  • Older Than They Look: Mu ages horribly for the movie, needing to walk around with a cane and having a very bad back. Everyone else, on the other hand, hasn't aged a day.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Literally. Athrun wears a paper bag at first when visiting Armory-One with Cagalli.
  • Power Perversion Potential: Rau spends the first few hours of possessing Lacus having fun in the bathtub.
  • Plot Armor: Like everything else this series lampoons, this goes into overdrive. Beam shots rebound off the Akatsuki back to where they came from, for instance. It's called "Main Character-itis", however.
  • Retcon: Several of the changes made in the Special Edition of SEED get lampshades hung all over them. Yzak and Dearka argue over which of them killed Raider. In a flashback episode we see Buster destroy Raider (SE), upon which it comes back so Yzak can destroy it (TV). Clotho's excuse for showing up twice? "I had another life".
  • Reset Button: Lacus may or may not have pushed it at the end of The Movie.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: After getting the Akatsuki, Cagalli decides to stop taking an active role in the series since it only leads to acting like an idiot.
    • Sting does this even earlier. Realizing that he has no purpose in the show he self-destructs Chaos in the first chapter. He's just as confused by his reappearance in a Destroy later on as viewers were in the original series.
  • Send in the Clones: In The Movie, we get a clone of Heine, Miguel, Nicol, five clones of Rusty, and about a gazillion clones of Rey.
  • Shout-Out: Quite a few, ranging from pretty much every Gundam series out there to Star Wars to Virtual On.
  • Straight Man: Aside from her crappy piloting skills, there's little to make fun of when it comes to Luna, so she ends up filling this role most of the time. She initially thought that Rey and Shinn was a more likely pairing than her and Shinn, though. Shiho and Andy are other examples.
  • Stupid Evil: Just like his Anti-Villain counterpart, Lord Djibril's lack of intelligence is taken as far as it can go.
  • Take That: A ridiculous number of them leveled at Fukuda, the writers, and animators of Gundam Seed Destiny. How much of it is in jest and how much is a genuine critique is open to debate.
  • They Just Didn't Care: In-universe, Shinn gives up on bettering himself since the fans wouldn't care anyways.
  • Technical Pacifist: Subverted. It's made fairly clear that Kira doesn't even really bother aiming for non-vital parts of mobile suits in spite of all his claims.
  • The Chew Toy: Luna has rotten luck early on. The Destiny Impulse fixes that problem quite nicely.
  • The Mole: Meyrin in the movie.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Both Shinn and Luna in the movie, Shinn single-handedly defeating clones of Heine, Miguel, and Nicol before defeating Athrun. Luna beats the Black Tristars and a number of Rey's clones on her own.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Saji and Louise eat Golden Graham before Bright Noah has them eat Amur-Os.
  • The Unintelligible: Rau devolves further and further into this in the flashback to Gundam Seed, to the point even the translators have no idea what he's saying.
  • The Voiceless: Lacus eventually realizes that any clone of Rusty is doomed to die the instant he tries to say anything. By keeping the last clone deadly silent, he survives for quite a while. Shiho also rarely says anything, but in contrast Yzak is constantly yelling at her for never shutting up.
  • Who Writes This Crap?: There are a few points, for instance the destruction of the Destiny Gundam, so ridiculous in the series already that MikePriest83 couldn't think up any way to make them funnier. He even admits that.
