  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks: Several fans dislike Season 9: Mainly because of the different actor for John-Boy and the episodes that focus on the sons fighting in the war. Plus by this point four of the original cast members had left.

  • Crowning Moment of Heartbreaking doubles as Harsher in Hindsight: The episode Grandma Comes Home is Ellen Corby's first episode back after her stroke, but it ends up being Grandpa's (Will Greer) last b/c he died during the show's hiatus. The next two episodes of S7 are dealing with the loss of Grandpa, as well as Flossie Brimmer (the actress also died).
