The wolf is a pen tester.

(This assumes a telling where all three pigs survive.)

Either the mother or the piglet who chose bricks hired the wolf to break into the slacker siblings' house to teach them a lesson. First the wolf simulates natural disasters, and then social engineering, and finally an attempt through an air vent, only to discover that Practical knows a thing or two about home security.
