Tokimeki Memorial/Characters/4

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

This sub-division of the Tokimeki Memorial Character Sheet is dedicated to characters having appeared in the Modern Kirameki Saga of the franchise, i.e. Tokimeki Memorial 4 and its drama CDs.

Maki Hoshikawa

Voiced by: Asuka Oogame

One of the two main heroines of the Modern Kirameki Saga. A sweet, cheerful, compassionate and sincere girl in more or less the same mold as Tokimemo 2's heroine Hikari Hinomoto, the Main Protagonist meets her on his first day of High School. She dreams of becoming a nurse. Is best friends with Tsugumi Godo.

  • Hospital Hottie: Dreams of becoming a nurse, and in her ending reveals to the protagonist she passed the enterance exam for a nurse training school.
  • Overshadowed by Awesome: Despite being one of the two main heroines, fan popularity-wise she got relegated in the background by both Yuu (Expy of fan-favourite Shiori) and Miyako (Ensemble Darkhorse thanks to her Yandere traits).

Yuu Satsuki

Voiced by: Juri Takita

The other main heroine of the Modern Kirameki Saga, and Student Council President of Kirameki High. She's a relative of Shiori Fujisaki of Tokimemo 1, she views her in high regards, and wishes to be as perfect as her, to meet her love, and confess her feelings to him under the Legendary Tree, like the Superstar of Kirameki High did in her High School time. As such, Yuu is completely molded in the same vein as Shiori, to the point of being an Expy of her.

One of the two Senpai characters of the game along with Aki (and thus a year older than the Main Protagonist), she's one of the characters of the last class donning the classic and iconic Kirameki Sailor Fuku (the classes after wearing the new Kirameki Blazer).

Tsugumi Godo

Voiced by: Sayuri Yahagi

Maki's best friend, to the point of being VERY overprotective of her. The resident Meganekko and bookworm of the game, with a twist in personnality: she's actually a Type A Tsundere, who will hate at first the Protagonist before gradually warming up to him, shall the player pursues her. Is dreaming of meeting her prince just like in some of her favourite books, but she won't tell it to other people (or threaten to hit the Protagonist if he laughs when she finally spits it out).

Miyako Okura

Voiced by: Misato Fukuen (Both Miyako and her Rabbit Doll)

The Protagonist's childhood friend. She helps him with various things including being this game's "Info Man Woman". While normally a kind and cheerful girl (with a streak of Deadpan Snarker), her personality does a complete 180 in the middle of her route, becoming a chilling Yandere (the first ever in the series). She gets better though if the player continues to be by her side. Because of this trait, Miyako quickly became this game's Ensemble Darkhorse.

She has a rabbit doll which she's had since childhood. Said doll is actually a Robbie The Rabbit doll. This Shout-Out to the Silent Hill series is another indicator of her Yandere trait, and it's also, a major part of her storyline as it's also a Memento MacGuffin she got from the Protagonist when they were young, which she named after the Protagonist's name. She's also best friends with Itsuki.

  • Cannot Spit It Out: Miyako has always harbored romantic feelings for the Protagonist, but greatly feared that revealing them would destroy their friendship if unrequited, so she suppresses them... which only fuels that dark side.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Becomes this during and after her Yandere moment. After she snaps out of it, she'll refuse giving you information on the other girls any longer.
    • If the Protagonist continues to purse other girls after the Yandere phase, she will have momentary relapses and stalk them during dates.
  • Expository Hairstyle Change
  • Good Morning, Crono
  • Immune To Bombs: Miyako is completely immune to the customary Tokimeki Bomb from other girls, because she knows the Protagonist so well and immediately recognizes them as false rumors. During the Yandere phase, she will call him on the phone and directly tell him this.
  • Just Friends: What she has resigned herself to be, unless the Protagonist strengthens her dream that she can be more.
  • Late Arrival Spoiler: It's really hard to miss the fact that she goes Yandere at a moment of the storyline, as it's one of the most discussed things around this game, and what makes Miyako its Ensemble Darkhorse.
  • Lethal Chef: Does it on purpose during her Yandere phase.
  • Secret Character: Was somewhat intended as this, but this majorly failed.
  • Security Cling: She's afraid of heights and there's an event when you have to go up a snow lift. Good thing the Protagonist is there to give her confidence.
  • Unlucky Childhood Friend/Victorious Childhood Friend: Can become either of them. She's more likely to become an Unlucky one though, being initally just the Info Woman.
    • Not if her massive fanbase has a say on the matter.
  • Woman Scorned: Once the Yandere phase is unlocked, Miyako's Robbie the Rabbit will attack the Protagonist whenever he tries to date other girls. Losing these battles results in the date being an automatic failure, and winning them is very difficult on the first playthrough. These attacks continue, even when Miyako is restored to normal.
  • Yandere: The first of the series.

Itsuki Maeda

Voiced by: Emiri Katou

Best friend of Miyako. A sweet Bokukko who's the only girl in a family of a father and brothers, who are all mechanics. As such, she has some masculine traits and is good at fiddling motorbikes. She loves sports, and is The Ace of Kirameki High's Female Soccer Team. Don't be fooled by the masculine traits though: she definitely has a cute side.

Elisa Dolittle Naruse

Voiced by: Kanako Tateno

A half-blooded Japanese born in Miyagi Prefecture, she comes to Kirameki High in second year. Best friend of Fumiko, she loves Japanese culture and is a bit militant of it (most notably shown in a Event where she critizes the historical inaccuracies of a video game based in the Sengoku Era; but not militant to the extreme of Kotoko Minaduki of Tokimemo 2), and is a Kendo expert. Because of her western heritage, she has self-esteem problems, feeling and fearing she won't be able to blend in the Japanese society and won't be able to find friends that will accept her for what she is.

Fumiko Yanagi

Voiced by: Yuka Iguchi

Best friend of Elisa, she's a member of the School Broadcasting Club. Very cheerful and social, but a major Dojikko who often forgets to shut off the broadcast's mic, thus everything said that was intended to be private matters gets heard by the whole school. Loves to eat, and is scared easily.

  • Dojikko
  • Engineered Public Confession: Sort of. In her Happy Ending, she'll prepare her confession of love to the Protagonist in the broatcast room, but will forget to switch off the mic, so everybody in the school hears it. The Protagonist will rush to the room to respond to her confession, and this gets heard by the school too, before he makes her notice the mic, much to their embarrassment. Similary, in her Bad Ending, him being rejected by Fumiko will be heard by everyone in the same way, and the students will express sympathy for him as he leaves the school.
  • Gainaxing: Used during her portait sequence of her Limit Break in battle, as well as in her introduction in the mini-OVA.
  • Genki Girl
  • The Ingenue: Certainly, all the girls in Tokimeki Memorial 4 are virginal maidens, but Fumiko never shed her childish outlook on life.
  • Moe Moe: Easily the best example in this game.
  • No Indoor Voice
  • Saying Sound Effects Out Loud: Has a tendency to drop an onomatopoeia here and there.
  • Security Cling

Kai Ryukochi

Voiced by: Chie Matsuura

Daughter and sole successor of the Ryukochi Conglomerate, a very rich business nearly on par with the Ijuuin Conglomerate and similar in nature to the Koshiki Real Estate, held by her father, a powerful man who looks and behaves suspiciously like a Yakuza. However, unlike Yukari Koshiki, she's a brash Tomboy Delinquent who's extremely good at fighting and has such a Death Glare she makes flee in terror the poor fools that try to mess up with her. It's actually because he holds on this glare that the Progatonist can get to meet and befriend her.

As a delinquent, she's quite the slacker and hardly goes to class: despite this, she's talentuous and gets excellents marks at exams. The perspective of inheriting the Ryukochi Conglomerate doesn't please her in the slightest, as such, she's torn between her feeling of duty towards her father, who she loves despite some frictions and despite being annoyed by his overprotectiveness, and her desire to live as a normal girl.

Rhythmy Kyono

Voiced by: Kana Hanazawa

A quiet girl who's always seen with headphones on her head. She's actually a music genius who's in constant search of composing the best tunes, and wears the headphones because she has an extremely acute hearing, helping her not to be agressed by surrounding sounds. Because of those headphones and the fact she doesn't like talking, this intimidate and drive people away from her, and thus she doesn't have many friends.

Aki Koriyama

Voiced by: Umeka Shouji

The second of the two senpai characters with Yuu, and as such wears the Classic Kirameki Sailor Fuku. A mature girl with high interest in chemistry, she dons a lab coat over her uniform at all times. She's reminiscent of Yuina Himoo of Tokimemo 1, but is much more composed and sane, and thus is not a Mad Scientist like her.

  • Chemistry Can Do Anything: Certainly believes in this. Fortunately she doesn't actually experiment on anything or anyone... yet.
  • Cool Big Sis
  • Huge Schoolgirl: Tallest girl of this game's cast, with 170 cm.
  • May–December Romance: Not literally of course, as she's only two or three years older than the Protagonist, but Aki is by far the most mature of the winnable cast. She notably acts and dresses like a woman at least ten years older, and pursing her giving off a strong Teacher-Student Romance vibe. It certainly doesn't help that the academy faculty allow her to instruct chemistry classes.
  • TV Genius: Not too extreme, as she has a womanly maturity to temper it.
  • Wise Beyond Their Years

Haruna Mizuki

Voiced by: Yumi Sakuchi

A kohai by one year of the Protagonist, she's a part-time student at Kirameki High. Very shy, she holds a diary where she writes her feelings. Should the Protagonist find her diary, they'll start a relationship through it. She works at a sweets shop, and wants to become a confectioner.

Rui Nanakawa

Voiced by: Kaori Mizuhashi

Older twin of one of the Protagonist's best friends, Tadashi Nanakawa. She likes to switch places with her brother, in the same vein as the Shirayuki sisters in Tokimemo 2, leading to some Crowning Moments Of Funny (particulary when Manabu is around), as well as the way to meet her. A Genki Girl who loves anime and video games, and lables herself as an Otaku. In her Ending, she'll reveal to the Protagonist that she attends Hibikino High, and makes her confession of love under the Legendary Bell.

Manabu Kobayashi

Voiced by: Daisuke Sakaguchi

One of the Protagonist's two best friends, they meet on first day of High School. Is quite the pervert.

Tadashi Nanakawa

Voiced by: Yuuichi Nakamura

The other best friend of the Protagonist, they also meet on first day of High School. Is also Rui's younger twin. A straight-laced and kind guy who excels at sports.

Kiho Inokura

Voiced by: Mai Nakahara

The main heroine of Tokimeki Memorial 4 mobile and Tokimeki Memorial 4 Chu!, mobile phone spin-offs that sold significantly better than the main PSP release due to the low install base of the Sony device. Events within mobile take place concurrently with those of the main Modern Kirameki Saga (with character crossover), while Chu! is a timeline prequel of mobile.

Kiho is a delicate and beautiful young woman who dreams of being a model. Despite her gorgeous looks, she has has self-esteem issues and can fall into emotional slumps easily. Fortunately, after their encounter, destiny keeps Kiho and the Protagonist an inseparable pair, and he's always there to lend an ear or a hand when she needs it.
