Cutting down porn pages

So, I understand that just deleting a page outright because of offensive subject matter can be seen as bad, but why have in depth pages for them? I'm thinking specifically of the Fansadox page, and I propose it be trimmed to the bare necessities, and merged with the pages for it's spin offs. It's just gross and unnecessary as is. Plus, this is stuff you have to buy, so who ever made these pages bought all that porn and didn't just happen to casually read them and then offer an in depth analysis of it. It's just description after description of what happens in this franchise of rape porn.

Basically, rather then delete things outright, keep it from being so creepily detailed.

I would have to agree with this. The pages in question could stand be boiled down to a single main article and any creepy, pervy crap can be chopped out with prejudice, just please make sure actual fact remains.

Tag any pages with the {{delete}} tag if they don't link to anything after their content has been merged into the main article (I'll handle the deletions), and turn the pages that do into redirects to the main article.

Mission accomplished. I think. First time editing a wiki in awhile so if I broke the site, oops. The main page was trimmed to the essentials and the others were added as candidates for deletion.

I don't mind the deletion of the subpages, but the main page does need to have some tropes, though any pervy detail can be pruned.

Heavily pruned a lot of gushy material obviously written with one hand and rewrote a lot of stuff to be more objectively honest while cutting out any perversion that didn't need to cited for contextual reasons.

Hopefully, this will provide a decent overview of the series while looking a lot less like someone's masturbation material.

You know, if I'd known this was going to happen, I wouldn't have put so much effort into restoring those pages six months ago... especially as I found them pretty offensive myself. But it was the principle of the thing. <sigh>

Don't worry about it. The page needed a good scrubbing anyway, and I'm just glad we got this fixed.

The main problem is that the author of the original pages (which seems to be the same author) was a shameless fan who obviously wrote most of it with one hand, and so cleaning it up and removing the pervy stuff was going to need be done sooner or later.

Unlike TV Tropes, I wouldn't have banned it entirely from even being mentioned, but the perversion definitely needed a good axing.

Well, I never said this site was going to be censorship-free. But I don't like the tone that this discussion took -- approaching a violation of Staff Policy 6. Let's try to avoid that in the future.

If the pages are full of Fan Wank, just clean them up on that basis. In some sense, the entire site is gushing from fans; we shouldn't make decisions on which particular fluid is doing the gushing. Bad writing is bad, bad examples are bad.
