I am a Global sysop, who has sysop access across all Orain wikis. I have been fighting against spammers, and I would like to ask local community for the (written) permission on use of GS tools for doing counter-spam work here. (Meta GS policy requires local community's to do admin work where local admins are active.
PS. I deleted and blocked an user as an emergency anti-spam work. (This is a note about GS use of permission as per m:GS#Note:.)
By all means. As founder of this wiki and enemy of all spam, you have my full authority and support to eradicate spam and spammers whenever you come across it.
Just a note that I've also taken some action today. Several users were blocked as a result of a couple of CheckUsers and I flooded RecentChanges a bit. Sorry about that ;)
Dusti, do what you must. I welcome the use of your authority without reservation in the quest to stop spam.
That's nothing to apologize for, Dusti. Our user Eccletennysmithylove does more to flood our Recent Changes than you can ever hope to accomplish. <grin> In the mean time, as another admin, I add my tiny little approval to Geth's big monster one. Anything that stomps the spammers flat is a big plus in my book. I've been doing my share by building up the patterns in our TitleBlackList, but there are times -- such as while looking at the page Revi nuked at about 2:30 this morning -- when I'm tempted to just let the title blacklist match everything...
