Sorry, SJ29, but due to the difference in our licenses we can't take direct imports of articles from TV Tropes unless you are the verified author of the page and you give us a version that has no one else's contributions. If you are the same person as TVT's "LordGo" please verify, and we'll restore the page. (Although given that you made a no-edit edit to the TVT version today as Superjerk28, I doubt that's the case.)

That said, two points: First, yes, we should have a page on this work. Feel free to rewrite the TVT page into something original and post it here. Oh, and don't forget to bring the page image over if you're going to leave the TVT markup for it at the top of the page.

Second, Please use the ATT Page Creator when you do, and make sure you put your contribution inside the proper boilerplate for a Works page. You may have noticed that the page you created was missing a lot of the features seen on all the other work pages on the site -- that's because you had none of the markup for a works page in it. You may want to look at our So You're A TV Tropes Refugee page and our Works Page Guidelines page for advice.

I apologise. My reasoning was as follows: I. TVTropes has some articles which we have not. II. Such articles would greatly benefit our site. III. A good amount of our articles are almost word-for-word taken from TVTropes. IV. We didn't have a page on this particular work. V. I felt that the Chivalric Romance Category was lacking in examples of actual works within this genre. VI. Thus, I felt that I could enrich our site somewhat by starting a page on this subject. And VII. I did not consider that I may be infringing the site's terms of service, as this, like TVT, runs on Creative Commons, or Copyleft. I would like to apologise likewise regarding Bisclavret, as I have likewise done so with that particular Romance. Please do not suspend me from the site, I beg you. I will read those articles, thank you.

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

We have no intention of suspending your account for a simple mistake - please don't worry on that account. (If we did that, my account would have been suspended months ago...)

The articles that we have that were copied from TVTropes were copied before TVTropes changed their license. Creative Commons is a collection of different permissions, each of which can be set on its own (attribution required or not, commercial use allowed or not, and enforce these same permission selections on the next person or not). The versions of CC that ATT and TVT use nowadays are just different enough that they don't play well together any more.

I agree that we could use articles about various chivalric romances. We just can't use those particular articles; we'll need to write our own.

Superjerk29 (talkcontribs)

Agreed. Thank you. Could you please review the article which I have written on Pliny the Elder's Natural History?

Robkelk (talkcontribs)

The content in Natural History looks good. I've added a couple of categories to the end of the article ("Literature" and "Older Than Feudalism") and added the "work" tag to the very top of the page to show that this isn't a trope.

Thank you for starting it off!

Superjerk29 (talkcontribs)

I've started a page on the subject of the YouTube user Styxhexenhammer666. What do you think?

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

We had direct access to a Wikimedia image of the title page of the 1669 edition; I've added it to the page along with fixing redlinks, a lot of other copy edits, and adding a couple tropes from what I remember of his "monsters"/"humanoids" chapter.

We should probably add a page on Pliny himself one of these days.

Superjerk29 (talkcontribs)

Agreed. Expanding knowledge is what makes this wiki great. That and a lack of thought-policing by the Admins.
